Thank you so much Coach for this video and answering my questions about splitting stories 🙏 My question is " Are you having a simulation between the backlog refinement and sprint planning at the same time? Since the developers are estimating and assigning work to themselves ar the refinement meeting? Thank you.

There is no big difference between backlog refinement and sprint planning. Normally, we we don’t have a backlog refinement everything will done during spring planning.

Hi Dr Francis. Just wondering, why is the default velocity 8? If we are going by the number of days in the sprint, and assuming it is 2 week sprint, shouldn't the default velocity be 10 and not 8? Please clarify.

We have 10 days in 2 weeks, but we consider that 2 days will be use in attending meetings. This means we can only count on 8 productive days.

I believe What you have on the excel sheet will be availability in hours, how does thsr equate to story points in jira?

It’s in story point not hours. It’s not advisable to plan in hours and then convert to story point.
