See if you can get a used ipad or ipad mini. Some synth programs need the screen space of the ipad.
Also, you can also get a powered USB hub which also has an "audio interface" (headphone jack) built in if you have to use a newer phone with no headphone jack. The interface in the hub avoids electrical noises that are sometimes in the devices when they get busy, as well.

You can do pretty much things with a Roland Juno series or the Yamaha synthesizer workstations in the same price range.

Now I know what my iPhone 6 will be used for when my contracts end. This is not only groundbreaking information but do you how much money people can save from using this? Wow, this has blown my mind.

That is amazing! What's really interesting to me is you came up with the thought process to even think of something like this. I'm by no means brain dead, I run two I-pads and an Android tablet on my rig because of what I have to do for my band, but I've never thought how simple and cool this is just for myself. Thx for posting, great job my friend.

I ordered my first midi keyboard yesterday, and it will arrive tomorrow. I am using a Android phone with the CPU speed / core number slightly higher than the iPhone 6. Wish me luck. I took piano lessons for 1 year when I was 5. I am trying to pick up again after decades with all the modern tech unimaginable when I was a boy, and now the TH-cam music knowledge.

You can get old iPhones cheap under $100 and new midis that cheap too (m-audio,AKAI)! Make sure youre in airplane mode if playing live with an active phone lol

I'm thinking of adding it into my setup. Thanks to you I went ahead and purchased the MKsesations and the Korg Module rather than buying an expensive new keyboard this had added a new life to my Keystation 61 & 49.
