All I can say is I’m damn glad there are people in this country like you. 12-16 hours a day, 7 days a week in all kinds of weather. When we see you in the field or in the shop that is only half of your day. Good work.
Not so many lights on in the new barn. They not finished yet? I know the feeling of up in the morning... Get up every day at 130 in morning... Work most days till 7-8 nights... Not bragging, just the life i lead. Ex dairy farmer, work for town and have a construction crew. Love the channel and the work u and ur family, guys put in... Feed our country!
Thanks Andy...I sure do appreciate the products you and your cows provide. Grew up around dairy farms, so understand the hard work it takes. Peace to you. ✌
Some good fun in the snow this morning. You put in a days work before you go into the shop to do another days work. Impressive schedule and glad you take us along for the enjoyable time.
Hi Andy ! you having so many ladies for breakfast , you are the man of the situation. i love watching feeding , it is a good moment . Thanks for your time for sharing all that good stuff . Have a good day everyone ! 🙋♂️
To drive backwards in the feed alley is difficult with a big mixer wagon if i would do it, it would be dangerous for the cows heads you are the backout master chief 😂
Quite an adventure in feeding. Not warm or summer 😮 I'm confused, no horses, yet there's plenty of horsing around😅 Thank you Andy. Hope your all healthy, safe and excited for 2025. 🎉
Sometimes people never cease to amaze me just because they were aloud to lay in the bed they all children are i was raised on a dairy farm but I was raised on a farm and work days started at 4:30am every day we had work to do before we had to go to school. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Most Dairy Farm kids know what it means to get things done. Andy's kids are no exception to that. Sleeping in means you either have school or are sick! I'm sure Andy may have something to say about my comment, but I know what it is when the Saturday and Sunday alarm is earlier than the school day alarm.

Great video and explanation of everything going on with feeding the dairy cattle. Thanks for doing videos. Been lucky no snow here in northeast iowa yet but iam sure it's going to come sometime.
First of all love you too, Paige. Lots of great information and activities question for you your thought of using a feed truck instead of tractor and feed wagon just curious.
What's all that white stuff Andy? I guess the cows need to eat and you do what you got to do, right? I am looking forward to a warm summers day! All the best!
Hey Andy great explanations of the feeding process. Maybe you could elaborate on the hutches that are outside. I thought they were dog kennels the first time I saw them but it looks like you keep calf’s in them. Thanks much for the video. Enjoy them much.
Very good video, I can't imagine that many loads a day and I think 5 loads a day is alot at my work. Do you cleanup all old feed in every barn daily and if so how long does that take?
Have you guys ever tried those big Nokian snow tires they make for Tractors? Thinking maybe they'd eliminate the need for tire chains on the 2wd Tractor.
@FarmingFixingFabricating iv been there but it's been a few years. Definitely would like to go again. Lots of "celebrities " go there now. Would definitely like to meet you in person if it happens
Hi Andrew I have always wounded why you have different cows in different barns ,ie milk cows and dry cows in the same barn and efforts and dry cows in the same barn and so on . I am not a dairy farmer and had any knowledge of any going ons with farming . So I am wondering if it would be easier if you put al the same cows in the same barn so it would be easier to feed all same cows in one go . If you could explain to a me why you do the way you do it . THANKS YOUS Brian over the pond.
I remember having the bunk out in the yard and taking a wheelbarrow and wheel in the feed down in the bunk. I think I was about 15 years old. Do you feed one today or two times a day?
I run "field chains" year around on my driveway maintenance tractor. And yes, they WILL beat hell out of your kidneys. I started out running them for traction in winter, ... but leave them on all the time now, in order to slow my Dad down. ( He's just not happy unless he's screaming the tractors wide open, all the time, ... and I'm the guy who has to fix whatever he busts up. )
Summer looks like summer here in New Zealand lol, about to start harvesting some grain while the corn is growing well. It's been a great season here, some very heavy crops around the County.
Depends on the feeding process…. You very well might have had a lot of work in front of you…. That’s hard work that you did to, don’t discount yourself at all…
Hi Eddie, I just wanna let you know. Andy, you keep saying you are TRANSITIONING OVER! Its giving me heebie jeebies! I know, transitioning to the new parlor. All comments count for the algorithm!
Would you not be better with a bigger mixer and just run one rather than having two tractors running all the time? Perhaps wouldn't work for group size. You could keep a smaller one in the shed ready to go as a back-up. Maybe a self-propelled mixer and cut a shovel out? Just think out loud, always looking to cut COP
@@FarmingFixingFabricating I don't know what's available in the US, your shed dimensions or group size but having two mixers, their tractors and a shovel running for hours on end with one operator doesn't sound efficient to me. Perhaps worth studying what other farmers use on larger farms, depending on group size and ration, fewer larger loads with one tractor would surely save money, time and machine hours. Just a thought not trying to tell you what to do. Outside the box but you have a self-propelled sucker truck and sand dispenser, why not a mixer, do it all from one seat, (clamp height might be an issue though)
