Im sitting here searching for a guide for MH1 in 2020 and i found this and it is a great guide. Helped my a looot farming armor, weapons and other stuff... thx ^^
Another place to get Special Mushrooms: Behind the old guy's tree in Zone 7. You're almost guaranteed one and I've gotten up to four from the one spot. Honey can also be found in the corner off to the right so there's a lot of incentive to go to Zone 7 when farming. Lastly, there's a Blue/Special Mushroom gathering area in Zone 10 right next to the tree by the Zone 3/10 path. Thanks a ton for the video, it's been really helping me out!
For zenny farming make a poison dagger and farm bugs - killed by poison they can be carved; sell all materials, including monster fluid that sells for 500z.
there's a *lot* to farm in the Forest & HIlls map, but i've found drop rates are inconsistent. imo, you should always go until it says "There is nothing else here" or you miss possible gains. if it says "Nothing found" you should keep looking: re-position and try again. I've found 3 drops is average, but it can go as high as 4-6 depending on quest and spot. in area 7, the old man will give you a Fire Herb for Garbage, but only one, and Special Mushrooms for Felvine (up to 3 usually), but if you want both only 2 Felvine and 1 Garbage. He will also give something for the Fire Herb, so don't go farther than that. And if you have Iron Ore when you see him, he will take that and not Garbage, but not for Mushroom. There's also dung in 5, which might yield Kut-Ku Scale. And it's Mystery Bone in 5 at the egg drop, not Sm Monster Bone. also it's BBQ SPIT not SPLIT. And the last thing i'll say here is in area 12, there's a chest where you can look that usually says "Nothing found" and idk what's there yet, but i guess you can try all you want. and there's an area by the tree on the right to get bones and the Unknown Skull, but idk what that's worth off-line, except zennies. The Sell option in your house is great to find out prices for loot, but that's another topic.
Is true that comparing with the first Monster Hunter of PS2 the Monster Hunter Tri of Wii seems like a piece of cake because is much more easier, but for a good reason. Looking back MH was very grinding, with hazy features and mechanics that could you pass unnoticed unless someone tells you or you read a guide, specially when online connection wasn´t as common and prevalent as it is now compared to 15 years ago. The herb gathering itself was harder because you cannot tell the background grass from the actual gathering grass point, for example. Nowadays those grasses have their own model so players can look them for herbs for their potions and other items. And don´t forget the infamous controls it had, I guess they want it to make them more unique and inmersive compared to other videogames at the time but now feels like a terrible idea. At least the game had way less weapons and armors compared to modern Monster Hunter, imagine yourself trying to collect all the weapons while fighting with the right joystic with 70 monsters instead of just 15 XD (I know there where 17, but two of them are only accesible by online fan servers).
If memory serves (For frame of reference) stone + mystery bone = old pickaxe iron ore + mystery bone = iron pickaxe machalite + mystery bone = mega pickaxe That being said, as you progress, the game automatically has these in the vendor store for easy access and purchasing. Happy hunting and good luck! ^^
@@MetaHuntersMH Yes that's what I have in mind but it doesn't work, it seems that we can't craft them back to first gen. I can purchase them but I would like to save money for my equipments as the quests don't give a lot, but thanks anyway, happy hunting too ! ˆˆ
Man, after learning that MH1 was "back online" I was so happy! BUT, for some reason, only the JP version works online, so I'm doing a new save. It seems that JP version only offers you ONE page at the item box... Hoping I'm wrong :v
To maximize profit, yes! sell all of the scales you can but save a small reserve for yourself to build it's armor. Afterwards, you really don't have a use for the scales outside of selling. You build profit fast this way.
Mh1 was VERY stingy when it came to the drop rate of the Machalite ore's. It's really about repetition and how dedicated you are at farming. This guide is just a good base line to get ahead of the early game grind BUT did not take into account the different versions aka PAL or JT. So this footage is based of NTSC American version! - Uprisng.
you were fucking wrong with your "guaranteed" iv just gone too "my first hunt" 3 times in a row. And on the third it gave up and gave me ONE honey in the spot at zone 9 and three at the spot in zone 7. And you didn't even know about the zone 7 spot. You didn't mention it I you did. Regardless... NOT a guarantee folks. But still a good easy method. That mission has no enemies, and it just fits into the 2* rank missions. So drop rates change up.

vigkvagkv2 Very nice tip! thank you ^^
you forgot in zone 2 that there is a rock right when you enter zone 2 that almost always drops the kut-ku scale. ALWAYS check the rock at zone 2
Awesome advice! ^^
Btw in zone 11 there is a mining spot if you climb the waterfall stairs to your left
Good catch!
Those GS without charge! First Rathalos fight... It's like meeting a good... Small monster was such a pain! Gosh im soo old lol

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is more dificult than MH1
Thank you for this method :)
Your method has worked wonders, thank you!
Can someone teach me how to craft the pickaxe please ? Stone and mystery bones cant combine... and google don't know what I'm answering...
If memory serves (For frame of reference)
stone + mystery bone = old pickaxe
iron ore + mystery bone = iron pickaxe
machalite + mystery bone = mega pickaxe

Earth crystals can be found all over mining points across the forest&hills! :D
