Yes please. Its always nice to see things being reused and not being tossed in a landfill.. Thank you for both making the video and sharing it with us and reusing good materials that would otherwise end up in a land fill... can't weight to see what you make next out of some of these items you got ....
It’s nice to see someone go through and reuse a lot of what would just end up in a landfill. I think this video is actually great and I would love to see more of these and see how these things show up in builds on your property.
You are so lucky to have a Dom he is definitely your MVP he turns up on time works hard is cheerful and does it for Maple Syrup. Seriously without him you would be far far behind on your projects.
I much prefer the black tile in that bathroom as opposed to the pink tile in my bathroom (which is the same color as that sink and toilet). Although I have to say I much prefer the tiled walls from the 50s than just plain drywall painted now-a-days. I can safely leave a wet dog or a water obsessed toddler in the bathroom and not worry about the walls being ruined. ;)
Kevin, you are about my favorite "character" on youtube. You have such a jovial, fun, and purposeful approach to making videos- you are a total natural. I remember the first video you made where your experienced brother was trying to give you tips and after the first 15 min. you didn't need them! You took to making videos like a champ. My husband and I are also chronic "collectors' (why throw perfectly good "stuff" into the landfill????) to have the materials for when a project comes round- I call it "potentiality"! Regrettably, we don't have a larger piece of property with a "bush" or a place to create wonderful structures and projects but we do have lots of wooden boats to maintain and use on the coast of Maine at our in-town "homestead" home and shop where I don't grow much (live next to a shady ash-stand that we don't own- plus I figure we can maintain boats or grow a garden so that seemed to seal our fate) or have animals (I grew up on a dairy farm so I'm over that!) but I do freeze and can farmers mkt veg and local organic field blueberries and pick wild fiddleheads to put away each year and I cook on a woodburning cookstove all but a couple of months in high summer. So I can certainly relate to you collecting available and perfectly useful things. Congrats and carry on!!!!
Please save that dehumidifier and turn it into a cooler for your beers or a snack dispenser for Beans. And it would be really great if you could set up some of the reclaimed things at the log cabin and share pictures with the former owner and family. My dad’s lived in his house since the 60’s & I think it would be a really emotional transition to sell. I think it would be nice if you let them know their things have gone on to live another life.
Scoring on free stuff is good and I enjoy watching this kind of thing but I’d rather watch you build “things”. Your builds are awesome and your ideas on most of them make my day. Oh and before I forget, your humor is greatly appreciated!
Can't wait on the next one. I also see the value in what others deem "trash", I have my dad to thank for that. Thats easily close to $6k in brick if not more and also wondering how much Don made at the scrapyard. God bless
Hi welcome back to you also,I've been looking and wating for your vids, thank you.Yes please bring it on,your vids are all that and more.I appreciate you and your work.
Those metal shoe anvils were slid onto a metal post upside down. Old boots had nails to hold the rubber heals on plus contact cement. The shoe was slid on bottom side up. When the cobbler glued the heal on they also nailed them. The Cobbler anvil bent over the nails inside. The boots would be very uncomfortable if it didn't. :O) My uncle was a cobbler in the 40s and 50s. I watched him do this. He also made custom boots back then. He brought his trade over from Italy!
@@thegoodtom1718 You are right about that, but Soles are not nailed they are sewn on. For years I wore Hanlon shoes that I had the soles and heels replaced multiple times. Also good cobblers are hard to find today.
My hometown , is Newton , Iowa, the hometown of Maytag. Whirlpool came in and bought Maytag, and closed the factories here and every where else, and put thousands out of work. Before that the Maytag products were great. I wouldn't buy anything Maytag, or Amana, after whirlpool got done.
Great reminder Kevin, thanks for sharing this video. I look forward to seeing you add the pavers to the floor of your sugar shack. The tempered glass shower door would make a nice addition to any of your outdoor projects, either as a door or a skylight. Wishing you and your family & Don another terrific week. Peace brother.
Wow! What a fantastic opportunity for finding awesome useful stuff! 👍Can't wait to see what kind of things you will be making in the future with all the treasures you find there. You have great friends who are looking out for you. Can't wait to see your cabin completed also. All the best to you and your friends. That was an amazing house in it's day. Peace and good fortune and good health to you and your family and friends. 👍
Hi kelvin, saw your whole video. Dismantling the big big heavy boilers. Scooping up the bricks and what have you...your good friend's recommendation was so darn good that you almost take down the whole 🏠 house, hahaha 👍👍👍. I m sure all the used materials will be good use for your projects. 👏👏👏 congrats! Love 💘 Laurencia 💋💋💋
You're not a hoarder, Kevin, you're a packrat! *G* Looks like you scored awesome and it's great that stuff that is still good will be used again instead of going to landfill.
Great Score on those egg sammiches, they looked Awesome ! The rest of that junk wasn`t bad either. Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out .
Kevin, your like a kid at Christmas, now I want to see the cool stuff you scraped out of that home, looking forward to your next post, until then, stay safe, peace my brother.
The only good washer now is Speed Queen. People say if you have babies and you wash diapers the front loaders, using less water does not clean diapers.
8:50, I think they’re lasts. Put them inside the footwear to make the shape/size while you’re finishing the shoe/boot. (I work for a boot company, we use plastic ones)
I have that same chainsaw it is amazing when all you have are three trees in your yard and you like to pretend you saw big things (personal experience) haha
You probably recovered the cost of driving and your time for everything with those taps. Don is in the black with those tools. Haha. I drive trailers through the drive through all the time. It is so fun. That pull out awning would go great on your sauna.
Wow thats a beautigul old style house. I hope he at least keeps some of that cool cabinitry and such. I know its stuck in the 70s or something but people seem to ready to tear everything out sometimes.
Junk-outs yes! Reclaiming vids are valuable to watch especially in a throw it away world that we are encouraged to be apart of to keeps the economic engine going.
I'm with you Kevin, take the brick n papers. I would move in to that house just as is....well you would have to do s ok meshing with the back n front of the house for me where you took the brick...lol.. yes would see more of this... be safe
Whooooo!! It's Christmas time for you!!! I,ve got the same feeling when poeple give me free whool.... I'm getting creasy!!! LOLOLOL You see Kevin.... that why I love to see you working...( and Don ) because you use '' old'' stock and you create knew thing.... that is so satisfactory... and creative!!! wow!! than you to show this video!!
Awesome deal Kev 👌 😎 I haven't seen cobblers anvils for a long time, they are for installing and repairing the shoes sole 👍 very cool, and yes being a good crap collector myself I'd happily watch this kinda bargain hunting 😀
*Let me know in the comments if you want me to do more junk-outs like this!*
Yes please! Thank you for your amazing videos every time.

Yes but remember to show us what you are looking at more than vlogging lol. Thanks Kev
Yes
I want to see a tour of your storage warehouse so we can determine if you are, in fact, a hoarder. 😆
When you get the windows you should build a greenhouse. With a brick floor and hinged glass panels for warm weather ventilation.
I thought the exact same thing...a greenhouse would be awesome!
Instead of a brick floor, you have got do make a dumpster granite floor!
Nice,I thought the same
Thermal mass baybe! Peppers n tomatoes love it.
Now that is smart and could look and work amazingly
You are the definition of ‘Another Man’s Trash, Is Another Man’s Treasure! ‘ ☺️☺️☺️ Great Video 👍👍👍
This sort of scavenging/repurposing is so up my alley. Hoarding is a matter of perspective. Love the content Kevin.
Let's take a tour of your house and see where you keep all this stuff!
I wonder if his wife agrees that he has a great space to keep stuff?
I love how you give your Maple to your friends ☺️☺️☺️
In the world of syrup dealing the first one is always free 😜
It’s nice to see someone go through and reuse a lot of what would just end up in a landfill.
I think this video is actually great and I would love to see more of these and see how these things show up in builds on your property.
The windows and sliding doors are just the right size to make a green house with. Great score.
You are so lucky to have a Dom he is definitely your MVP he turns up on time works hard is cheerful and does it for Maple Syrup. Seriously without him you would be far far behind on your projects.

Having a pink bathroom is the best! We have an original 50s ranch with pink toilet, tub, sink, accent tiles, etc.

Don made $57.
@@cmosphoto1 thanks. Yeah all of these things have value i often wonder how some people cannot see that.
You know it’s a good video when don’s there to help good work guys
Sad to see mid century modern roof line destroyed! That was a dream house for that family!
Energy Retrofit.
I love your enthusiasm and positivity...you’re sense of humor is so refreshing 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much!!
You’re so very welcome! I look forward to your videos and I’d love to see more content...I’m definitely a huge fan!!!
Is nice to think that every piece that Kevin takes is something that will get recycled. Thank you Kevin
I agree wholeheartedly!

So much potential there! My inner hoarder was certainly triggered just from watching!
Love your haul- so many possibilities- in your hands- what fun!!!
I like how you always find a way to repurpose items. Keep up the good work
Those metal shoe things are called cobbler’s anvils, the only reason I know is that we have some at home for whatever reason😂
one use is for install the nails into souls
Also called a last
Yep, we have some at our place also. No cobblers in the family... still we have a set of them.
That is the clock from Ground Hog Day.
Panasonic RC-6025 flip clock is the one from groundhog day. But close.
Your oil tank evaporater design was brilliant. Hopefully you can build a couple more for other modern homesteaders.

“When life throws bricks at ya, you collect those bricks, because bricks 🧱 are expensive”.... 🤦🏼♂️🤣🤷🏼♂️
Turn those oil tanks into a large rotary pig barbecues or join them together to make a submarine for your duck pond.
You could make paths at the homestead or a patio under the cube, so many ideas! Great finds.
Great Score on those egg sammiches, they looked Awesome !
The rest of that junk wasn`t bad either.
Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out .
Nobody at all
Kevin: Free junk you say ? I’ll take it all.
Got the windows, doors, driveway bricks, oil tank and much more too! Wife still shrieks in horror!😂🤣😂🤣
I love free stuff it’s exiting just looking around and seeing what would be saved for other things you’ve got great friends well earned I’m sure
The trash dragon hoard is always fun to watch. Especially when there is a plan behind it.
One person's junk is another person's treasure!! That's what my Nan and Mum would always say!!
More junk outs please.
Love hearing whats valuable
I feel so friggin sick today and your video cheered me up, thanks for that. 😁 I hope all is well with your crew and family. Stay safe! ✌💜🐖💨
Hope you feel better soon!
Thank god for good friends and free stuff to help the channel keep going

Can’t be free! I’ve found working with reclaimed materials makes me get more creative and the end product comes out better than I could have imagined.
Battery-powered chainsaws are mighty useful, too.
I bet! A little too pricey for me.. but one day I'm sure.
You guys are going to have your hands full for the next little while. Keep up the great videos and keep having fun!
The only good washer now is Speed Queen. People say if you have babies and you wash diapers the front loaders, using less water does not clean diapers.

Good walk thru.. Huge back yard! The tank will work as the shelving👍
Love it! Would definitely be up for some more junk outs between your other videos. It was a nice change of pace.
My dad (and now me) always called these things J.I.C's, because you grab them while you can, for 'Just In Case' :)
Smart man!
My dad has a 1000 gallon heating oil tank in his basement, when he sells the new owner will have a big project on his/her hands, lol.

Love the recycling aspect of it all!
Great haul of goodies! 😃
So today I just realized This Old House is still on tv, it's in season 42.

AWESOME! 🤣
Must have been a thing back then because my daughter moved into a house with a p&b bathroom. She likes it.
I am going to use your saying from now on, " When life throws bricks at you, you collect those bricks. They're expensive."
@11;40 when moving the tank up the stairs, you scratch the paint and reach back to rub the spot with your hand, lol moment.
Great video, these scavenging videos are really fascinating. Fullstop. 💯❤👍
Glad you enjoyed
