Great video. Very true. Bosnia and Herzegovina is a beautiful place with a beautiful landscape. People are very warm and approachable. Bosnia is a very safe place with a low crime rate. Unfortunately there is corruption as in other parts of the world, but nothing that overly affects the life of the common man. Bureaucracy is what requires the most patience, but things are slowly improving.
All in all a great video. Welcome to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Another great video David, we always enjoy the info , I often feel people who want to live there need to know about costings of daily living and monthly bills, water , electric etc.

Thanks so much Robbie, I have pivoted to this style of video, which I hope will work. More storytelling in I hope an informal way, for a more "mature audience". I cant compete with the young guns anymore.

    Hello David.
A very timely video as far as I am concerned. I have had two spells of living and working in BiH totalling 4.5 years. firstly as part of EUPM and secondly working for the BiH state court. On both occasions I lived and worked within Sarajevo. Like you, I fell in love with the country and the people. I have often thought of moving there, I know a few British people who have. I am loathe to sell up in UK and move there and find that after a while life as a now retired UK citizen does not suit me or indeed the powers that be may not want me living there! To that end I have thought about renting a small apartment. This recent installment explaining about the 90 days within a 180 day period is actually news to me. Is this recent legislation or has it always been there? I was unaware of it. This seems to be very similar, if not identical to the eu rules and regulations, albeit that applies to all of the eu and not just one country. Am I right in assuming that the BiH 90/180 days is not connected in anyway with the very similar time constraints in the eu? I can do the 90/180 in BiH AND 90/180 in the eu if I chose to do so?
I would not be starting a business or working at all or have any family connections.
I am thinking of Trebinje as a place to live.

Simon, great to hear from you. The 90/180 has been in effect for a long time now. You don't need any permits as the tourist visa on entry qualifies. So you could do 90 in BiH, then, 90 in the EU (or maybe Montenegro as it's right next to Trebinje). Trebinje is a great place now, getting better all the time. Hope this helps? If I can assist with "on the ground" info, please drop me a line. Hope you enjoy this relaunched channel, Bests from a scorching village (37C), David

Hi David. When you say "land" you mean land that has a house on it don't you, am I right in thinking that a foreigner can't buy a farm house on agricultural land or any agricultural land nearby to the house you may be purchasing?

David, as far as I know, in this the northern part of the country you can buy a house on or with agricultural land. If youre thinking of something like this I can research a little for you.
