      Absolutely! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll hopefully be putting out some new material in the next few months that is less like a college course but covers similar material

    emotions are body states that have utility in being broadcasted to the group. They help the group to survive. Moods probably do not aid survival of the group so can remain internalized.And they need to be communicated quickly so controlling them is not useful . Maybe they get de-purposed once we move away from hunter-gatherer lifestyles into cramped hierarchical societies but we are still dealing with this robust legacy .Shallowing out and dissipating them into moods . Maybe.

    I personally felt, there is less of neuroscience in this lecture. Discussion about emotions is very much incomplete without description of mirror neurons, theory of mind. I suggest you to go through the basic definitions of affect and mood once again because you mixed up both the concepts.
