    ADM is worth reviewing if you haven't looked into it before. Some recent issues which brought the yield up but is a solid company.

    Dividend stocks that pay less than 4% yeld are automatically less interesting to me in this inflation economy. Why choose a king stock that pays less than 1% when there is aristocrats paying 4%+
    As Mmm has shown recently kings can fall.

    Dividend kings in my opinion are still BDC's like HTGC, CSWC paying close to 10% and stock price + divi keeps increasing. Other short to mid term plays due to geopolitical impact like TORM plc. pay crazy divi of up to 20% for 2yrs already. I understand compounding is key but some short term plays are just to good to pass up! Would love to hear your thoughts on them! Appreciate the content my dude!

    • @Dividendology
      @Dividendology  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Don't think I said they were a bad company, but they did have quite a few problems 8 months ago. I've been holding it in my portfolio for some time now and have seen decent gains, and plan on continuing to hold. 8 months ago they were definitely dealing with inventory and political problems. Those problems are still present in my opinion, but likely aren't long term problems for the company.

      The entire strategy behind dividend investing is to buy and hold long term. By their very nature, dividend and dividend growth stocks will not have the returns seen in low/mid-cap growth companies or tech start-ups, but the proven record needed for a dividend often means that there is less risk involved. Any dividend stock bought should be bought with the goal of holding it forever and should only be sold if there are large changes in the long term outlook for the stock or goals of your portfolio.
      Asking if Altria is a good buy at the current price is a good question, but "selling a little" to buy back later doesn't work with dividend stocks. There is a good quote from Dave Ramsey, " Investing is time in the market, not timing the market."

    Great info as always. Can you review BMY? Can't tell what's going on with it as it seems solid, enough so that SCHD managers placed a big bet on it, but it keeps diving - new 52 week low today. Also love to hear your thoughts on OZK.

    1) Stop with the low dividend yields you’ll have to wait 30 yrs to make those companies worthwhile.
    2) MO - are you kidding me… people are no longer smoking in US it’s certainly not increasing … why recommend?
    3) you spend way too much time on extraneous info particularly on Lowe’s .
    Sum it up in 2 minutes that’s it. Three of these companies are not suitable for a dividend investor . Why are you analyzing them ?
