I am very glad to hear that Chen Pingping did not betray Fan Xian. They always seemed so close and Chen Pingping seemed to genuinely care for Fan Xian. (IMHO Wu Gang, who plays Chen Pingping, is a very good actor).
It was revealed in Season 1. In season 2 the king confirms this by telling Fan Xian directly, Fan Xian already knew this as he had figured it out in Northern Qi.
