I bought mine and got it set up. I tried to start quilting but then had a problem with the handlebars. Customer service to the rescue!!! They have the best customer service team and I am so glad I purchased a Handi Quilter brand!!!
My wife and I purchased the HQ Moxie on a Friday afternoon. The Moxie is our third long arm quilter, not our first, as much of the marketing would suggest. For more than fifteen years we owned a large Innova quilting machine. It was nearly twelve feet long and deep! Great machine and we enjoyed it. When we retired and moved we decided not to bring our quilting machine with us. After a year without, we still missed the hobby and decided to downsize with the new Moxie from HQ. I spent Friday evening and Saturday morning building the “Loft” frame using the “Bild” app on my phone. Great help! Fit and finish was amazing. Good design. Our years of long arm experience made us big fans of “Red Snappers” on the leaders and Fil-tec Magna Glide pre-wound bobbins. Eliminate bobbin issues and leader pinning and it makes the whole process both easier and more reliable. Sunday we installed the “Red Snappers” and the magnetic bobbins and we were ready to quilt. By Monday we had two quilt tops quilted and were totally impressed. Stitch for stitch, the HQ Moxie matched the quality and performance we were accustomed to on our old industrial strength machine. If you are happy with an eight foot machine (seven foot max quilt,) you are going to love The HQ Moxie.
I have the Moxie and have noticed in all these Moxie launch videos there is not really any discussion of the bobbin winder that came with it, and as it's different from the usual HQ bobbin winder, the other videos aren't as helpful. Will there be one addressing that new winder soon? Your videos are so helpful and I had no problems with a large thread cone, but am having difficulty winding a bobbin from a shorter cone of thread where the hole in the bobbin is cutting the thread and if I hold the thread loosely enough to have it not cut off, then the tension is all out of whack.
You certainly can. This is similar to our other machines as far as thread usage. You can use any specialty threads. Be sure to check out our video on using different kinds of threads: th-cam.com/video/yxbOF5W7EvU/w-d-xo.html

I just ordered mine yesterday. Brand new to Longarm Quilting. So much to learn but excited !
Received mine Saturday and am now slowly setting it up. I got the 10’ frame as it seems I make large quilts.
Totally new to long arm quilting and finally got it set up this week. I am in love. Going to load my first practice quilt tomorrow.

Can the moxie use different types of thread for art quilting? and is a hard to adjust the tension for different threads.

Can you add a turning wheel on the 8 ft frame.
Is there a bobbing winder on it.
It comes with a stand alone bobbin winder.
I'm probably a 2 year Confident Beginner, so would this be appropriate for a Confident Beginner or should I wait a bit longer?
It is a 15" throat but how much is actual stitching area because of those bars in the throat?
I heard there is 11” of erotically stitching space.
I would love to purchase more bobbins. Where is it possible to do this?
We suggest the Handi Quilter website, or your local retailer.

Would love one, but don't have room.
Sewingmachinesplus.com offers it on a 5 ft frame as well.
It can come on our 8 foot Loft frame, or on our Little Foot frame which is 5 Feet across.
What is the difference between the high and low settings?
Is there anyway to get a pattern for the Moxie Maelstrom and the other quilts shown?
Hi Tilly - All of the quilts were designed by Handi Quilter Educators. There are no patterns for them, as of yet.
Is it possible to set the frame at 6 feet vs. 8 feet??
I’m looking for a long on but I wanted to know how much this one is
About 5200. The extra 2 foot is about 500 or so if I remember correctly. Saw it at my LQS
How match is the machine pls .
Is this computerized at all or completely manual?
This is all completely manual. We don' t have computerized quilting for the Moxie..... yet.
I'm a little short on money is there a payment plan
Check with your local retailer.
Sewingmchinesplus.com has 36 months no interest. Also free shipping, no sales tax for most states.
