    Thank you! I am kinda new at this and my old body doesn't feel good after even a relatively short quilting period. I am trying all of these exercises! I already use the stork when I am prepping meals. It may look strange but my back appreciates it

    I have a spinal cord injury in my neck. The vibration of the machine causes a lot of pain in my arms and neck. I am wondering if the thick rubber mats under my frame would help. I have a Moxie and it is on a hardwood floor.

    This is an awesome video. You talk about needing to take breaks. I take breaks all the time because my thread breaks quite often. I've put in a new needle, checked the tensions on bobbin and thread, slowed down (my machine doesn't like to go fast). Any suggestions on breaking thread? I usually just shut off the machine and go do something else, then come back, cut my bobbin thread and rethread. Sew for a few minutes, and thread breaks again. It's taking me a very long time to quilt anything. Thanks for reading my rant. :)

      Cate, good morning. You’re thread breaking can be quickly fixed. Unfortunately, it could be one of many reasons. For me, having the needle a little off 6:30 (more towards 6:28) keeps those threads from breaking. Another thing would be to loosen your tension a bit on your upper thread.

      Cate, There are many variables for thread breaks. Are you using a high quality thread? Is your tension set too tight? Is your quilt sandwich too tight?     I keep my frame at "bra height" check out Jamie Wallen and Leah Day you tubes on this.

    I long arm a solid 8-10 hours a day. Mostly ruler and custom work. After watching the Jamie Wallen video my back stopped hurting as well as the shoulders. The original height the girls suggested would certainly introduce those back into my life. Sorry, but the higher the frame (more boop height then hip height) the stooping posture to try reach or to see what we’re quilting is eliminated.
