    Joel Edgerton played Connolly so well in the movie Blackmass ...

      Joel Edgerton is a true actor...his Northern English accent in The King was flawless. He captured Connollys accent, entitled swaggerness and everything. Brilliant actor

    Do not misunderstand mafia and corruption. One can easily believe that the mafia is only criminal activity, which it is, but the structures are more complex and extends to a greater or lesser degree in legal enterprises and government institutions. It is only a question of who among the pillars of society who are involved and no.

  • @eclay432

    He is so nose in the air preaching about his great accomplishments, but there is something he's hiding, his shame because when it's all said and done he was nothing more than a common criminal.

    echoing some comments here Connolly is a smart guy. Nobody questions Whitey's intelligence either. Given their respective positions, they would have been a formidable duo. Not that the FBI was inept maybe as much as these guys were good. Just my opinion.

    Did they each have different microphones? His is picking up everytime he licks his lips and smacks his lips which caused me to turn it off after a few minutes. The sounds are akin to fingernails on a chalkboard or licking a wooden popsicle stick😣

    Does anyone over in the New World actually believe that John Connally gave up his career, life and freedom for a gold watch and a love of a childhood mate?.

  • @ShadyMcGrady209
    @ShadyMcGrady209 11 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Actually, pretty much everything Connelly said was the truth. Obviously he was withholding certain information to protect himself and his informants during that interview, but the man was more honest than I expected him to be. It's crazy to think this is the same guy who became childhood friends with Whitey.

    • @p-mac8413
      @p-mac8413 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Technically he was childhood friends with Billy Bulger. Jimmy was considerably older than John was.

    Julie the liquor store owner was given a bill of goods from her husband. Everything she says is “hear say” her whole story is inadmissible because she wasn’t there. It all stems from what her husband told her…. Where is the husband in all of this?

    • @bblegacy
      @bblegacy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're obviously not from the area. The two of them, she and her husband were as clean as anyone could get just trying and then managing to buy, open and maintain a one-off small business so they could work for themselves. Then Whitey and his goons showed up. The Irish mob that was based in Somerville and South Boston had serious internal struggles in the 70's and the fact they had killed off so many of their own in the 70's, it left Whitey an opening when he got out of prison and came home and he immediately started letting everybody know he was the new force to be reckoned with. The Angiulos from the North End should have taken care of him.
