Fighting against a flood push onto site, since the stun effect is aoe, against a large group rushing your site you have significantly better odds of at least getting your one, especially considering that duelists will often donate a free kill by making a lot of noise entering onto site(Neon slide, Jett dash, Yoru Tp, Raze satchel).

I found that deadlocks kit is best on holding retakes on attack, enemy have limited time to rush you so they always make sound and you can just peak of your sensors. On defence I recommend placing here sensors across open areas so when the enemy rush thrthwm they get stunned in the open .
I rarely ever comment on YT but this video was like a cinematic masterpiece and you made me laugh and kept me interested in the vid all throughout!! Had a different vibe than most other val content but in a really good way! You deserve more subs😁
I used to main Deadlock and honestly one really cool tip I was taught is that placing her sensor above doors is really effective if you want to watch flank especially. Icebox for example, you have that door at the entrance of B site where you can place a sensor at the resisting point(where it can no longer be placed further down.) and it’s low enough to trigger, unless they are shifting. Hopefully that’s explained well, Deadlock is super effective in my opinion. I think it takes time learning how to use her in an effective way.
Deadlock’s ability to play off her sensors is what makes her so amazing, when someone gets stunned they almost immediately panic and it can let you kill a vandal user with a ghost, her grenade paired with any other molly is a death sentence, her walk can be used to force the enemy crosshair into the wrong area and her ult is a free kill
Deadlock is a synergy unit. she is not good on her own but plays well with a coordinated team. pairing her util with other agents really make her shine over some other sentinels. pairing an orb smoke with her barrier is one of my favorites ways of utilizing her barrier because if the enemy pushes past the smoke, they run into the barrier and have no choice but to run back or take on a gun fight. you can even one up it by placing a sound sensor to effect them as soon as they attempt to push past the smoke. her sound sensors are not meant to watch flank like cypher trips, kj alarmbot, or chamber trap. doing so gives a false sense of security because people can just shift walk past it. her sound sensor is to give yourself an edge in crowded areas such as site during retake/post plant. her net grenade, i treat it like fade tether. pair it with your initiator's or duelist's util to get some good use out of it. lastly, her ult feels like raze ult to me. its good for zone coverage and can be used to psychologically attack the team too. like you said, 1v1, the ult is almost a guarantee win. its that fear, or moment's hesitation, when using the ult that can help give you the edge. I think Deadlock has improved after the buffs a few acts ago, but she falls off because her kit is not as viable for solo queuing comp. it requires communication and coordination with your team. additionally, because she is not known to be as strong as the other sentinels, there arent as many references on how to play her. so many people who use her dont utilize her util as effectively.
my personal opinion about deadlock: I feel like you have to have a mic to play deadlock and have some knowledge about communicating. This is because if you wanna do a play that involves your team, such as the raze and deadlock duo, you have to communicate how you want to play and where you want your team to play with your sensors.
Dude two weeks ago I think you had around 200 or so subscribers and now you have 4k. Congrats man you honestly deserve it with this amazing style of videos
As a fellow Deadlock main, when i know they have a jett or a raze, or a breach, i know they will fun run a site. So i wait and wall them when they start running thru site. 50% of the time you will catch them, and the other time theyr time would distract breaking the wall. So its how you use her, it's super difficult because she doesn't fit like a centinel, but i love her anyway
deadlock is very different than a lot of sentinels and i play her pretty frequently so here’s some tips i’ve learned: never put her trips on flank they’re basically useless especially in the higher ranks where players will understand how her sensor works they will just walk past and not even break it, it’s better for choke points and places you know they’ll have to make sound like dropping in or planting/defusing spike, also you should pay attention how you place ur wall since the smaller joints are easier to break than the center you can predict potentially where they’ll go depending on which side they break and maybe even subtly push them in one direction, and with her net it’s great for stalling fast pushes if you hear a lot of them coming throw one and catch some, it will stall the enemy and make them scared to push as well as give ur teammates valuable time to rotate, net is also great for when u know someone is in a corner it stops them from wide swinging you when you try to push and since deadlock isn’t played a lot the enemy will start to panic and try to pull it off THATS when you push bc it will take them a second to pull back out their gun listening to that sound queue is crucial to getting the kill
One of my favorite moments in my time playing deadlock was final round off rip (pretty much) reading what the enemy raze was gonna do and ripping her out of the air as she ulted and satcheled in. It was beautiful
I play dl ONLY on sunset (sometimes) so she is a bit difficult but if you play her right she can be really good and helpful. Her ult clearing corners/getting people off spike, sensors helping with flank or multiple angles, her grab thing stopping people from pushing+getting them off spike
I’m very, very new to Valorant and I am very partial to characters in games who aren’t given much love. As much I’m hoping to main Harbor and Deadlock, moreso with a lean on Deadlock cuz her kit just seems so fun and fascinating to me. Thx for the cool video.
Glad you found Deadlock interesting! I wanna be able to shine the spotlight on the overshadowed characters and show that they can hold their own as well!
i always end up playing deadlock like a more aggressive kj 😭🙏 but now i’m watching this to finally try and get some understanding on how to play deadlock. love the video so far:3
Deadlock is my favorite agent cause I can comfortably use her as a controller sentinel hybrid, I use her sensors in conjunction with angles I hold to guarantee unfair fights, use her wall to delay for a rotate, then use her nade for more delay, and easy swing, or for info on how many were in the area by how many audio cues I hear when they take off the wire. She’s a post plant monster too, especially with ult, cause you can wall off areas where attackers will swing when you tap spike/ wall off popular defender rotates, use her sensor on spike, and use her ult as a fire and forget to shut down a defuse or to get rid of an attacker hiding to tap spike. Makes it easy to take multiple fights at once and cause chaos for the other team while some of them get distracted thinking about trying to free their teammate.
I try to main all the new Agents as they come out to understand how they work. Deadlock's whole kit is to punish rushes. If you're playing against a 3 Duelist comp that just rushes the bomb site, she is insane. But if you're playing against a balanced team that knows how to clear site, you can't escape like Cypher and get picked off. You can't anchor with Deadlock like you can with Cypher or KJ, but if you're defending with a competent teammate, she becomes a good choice. Honestly, she fits between Sage and Cypher where her Sentinel abilities slow down enemies like Sage, but has less lethality than Cypher. With the current meta, I'd rather have a Cypher, but Deadlock isn't a troll choice.
I was already gonna sub, watched the Harbor vid and then this one, I enjoy the “micro” exploration into the agents, but motherfucking Buck Bumble??? I’m sold.
as a deadlock main, i didn’t even realize that i was subconsciously funneling people into my sound sensors LOL. Sound sensors helped me a lot whenever i was the final person alive, shoving myself into a corner and using the sound sensors where the enemy would come through and if they didn’t, i’d pick them up and reposition and this is how i’ve gotten many aces and clutches.
I’ve seen a lot of tips I was gonna say but a big one is jump when abt to shoot the ult. They know you’ll try to get them and shoot at you so jumping gives you a higher chance of ulting them successfully without losing a ton of health! Also I’ve found that in 1v2+ if I’m in a corner and know people are running towards me, placing a sensor will slow them down by making them switch their cross hair to the sensor or them running into it. Each scenario allows for a free kill or 2.
such good content, keep doing what youre doing! chamber ftw bc hes fun to play and tp is good even though it was nerfed, trademark gives vital info and possibly even a free frag, and headhunter is just nice to have.
Here's how I think they can improve deadlock to make her a bit playable Her wall should be like a Cypher wall where she can put it pre round and activate it Her gravinet should not affect her teammates or herself or even just herself Her ult should have be the same as sova ult where they show the trajectory of her ult on the map Her trips are sadly can't be improved on And lastly her wall is just too big it's an inconvenience to herself and her team
As a Deadlock sidepick I like this girl, that Gav net is legitimatel one of my favorite Seize ability in the game, the range of this thing is straight up hilarious, and throwing it at chokes while the neon/Raze is trying to rush and snagging them down is always the best feeling Also hearing *_"THEY COULDN'T SAVE YOU!"_* after annihilate Kills gives me such a Beastly rush
As a deadlock main I say when you’re placing deadlock sensors you want to put them in areas where when they push out they get stunned so not at the entrance but after the entrance. another thing is that when you place your sensors you want to put them in areas where if you were to peak they forced to move out the way or shoot so they get stunned also for them to slowly walk past which is an easy headshot.
I feel like your ending discussion was pretty accurate, it's just that there are better options at this current meta. Of course, deadlock is still an agent you can use for something like Ranked just because you can take advantage of how disorganized it can be sometimes.
I think this new map announcing in Shanghai will probably favor deadlock's kit, perhaps with things that require noise (such as dropping down or ropes, just stuff with verticality) or chokeholds that precisely benefit from walls like Split mid.
Hey love this series and your videos!!! Really minor thing but the paper effect seems to transition really fast on the background and it makes my adhd go brrr and I zone out 😂
you play deadlock reactionary or to get an advantage on holding angles with trip wires, or to prevent them from pushing a smoke, her best maps ive found her best in to play are split and bind in ranked (even in scrims), in bind you push either showers or long with a smoke to farm the orb n put a trip next to the smoke, they contest long with a flash, they get stunned, then just combos in general with raze, on split, i play with like a sage duo and spam walls, with so much stall potential, you only put trips where enemies are 100% going to be and play off those trips by jump peeking with an extra advantage as the trip stun i play deadlock where i take space and hold angles with an advantage of a stun and play off that with my brim and sage duo, its pretty broken (deadlock is underrated asf on these maps)
Just a little tip from playing deadlock from experience. When defending try playing with your sensors put them on entries and try swinging when they pop usually have a kill or two 70% of the time. Also when attacking try trying your gravity nets when the barrier goes down it stops early pushes from defending agents and you might caught 1 and its a free kill, also put your sensors on planted spikes. Deadlock for me is to lock a site hence the name deadlock. Not easy to rush or retake a site from her, especially using those utils well.
I used to main deadlock. I learned how to use her cypher like trip wires that has aoe but only activates on sound. Very good for stuffs where people rush to rotate to. Learned how to use the wall. Watched a vid of using the wall orbs "like protection" Tried it once, failed miserably. Anyways I'll start watching the video now. / Here is what I learned in this video. And what I thought. Since deadlock sound senser... Imagine if someone pulls to A site while everyone is in B site. The single person in A site has the spike. He was still sneaky. Walking to make sure no one will suspect. But then when he/she starts to plant the spike. (Sound senser) Activates and the enemy spike holder gets jumpscared and people rotate.
A neat trick I learned is that the sound sensor is activated on n enemy attempting spike defuse. So if you're able to position it in a certain way it can be really clutch
In my not so long experience playing Deadlock, one of the most annoying thing is your owm teammate not cooperating. One time in Bind I had the perfect Sound Barrier setup in B Site Window and told my friend to don't go too near the window. He went and rush anyways and got into the range of the stun.
Ok so one thing i noticed not many people talk about: Deadlock is amazing pick when playing with duo, combination of her net and for example Breach or Raze is just amazing, many times i helped my duo get 3 kills at the start of the round and fully stop enemy team from pushing our side (no joke, they would do everything to avoid running into us), or using skills that force enemy to make sound, like sending random stun enemy way or just shooting at them so they move to where stun is.
I'm a sentinel main, I switched to Deadlock from KJ. I also started playing competitively and managed to get to Diamond in 1 Week. Note: 100% Win Rate on Ascent as Deadlock so far, Like 12 assists per match, More wins. Net is kinda OP if you are playing against an aggressive team.
As a cypher main I can say only thing deadlock better at is you can still hold site with your e even after you die any other than that cypher is just better (info gathering , holding site, holding flank,,cages(you can use cages like smoke), can work alone at site till backup come) and deadlock's sensors makes noise like 30m away.
From playing her for about 7 months straight, she's kinda like a staller anti entry character. Otherwise, her lineups are goated, and paired with agent breach is a hell of a time, hehe.
Guys, brim's ult + deadlock nade = meta. Once playing on haven, i threw a nade to prevent rush, all of the team was stunned and brim hits his ult on them. That was quickest ace ive ever seen. So guys, play with brim in your lobby if you play dradlock
Was using deadlock on acsent and I had a sound sensor at tree. Enemies made a lot of noise a main and me and another teamate were sitting in tree with our back turned to cat. Jet snuck up behind both of us and shot my teamate in the back of the head and the sensor went off and I managed to turn around and get the trade. Sensors are underrated and can save you or a teamate especially when the enemy has to make noise.
So what I've learned is Deadlock isn't preventative, she doesn't do much to successfully block entry, but she does have a niche of tools to destroy pushes once they're on.
Thanks for watching the video!

I think it takes time learning how to use her in an effective way.
as deadlock main from bronze im suggesting not playing only as anchor. anchor in one round, next round go fo entry frag, next round lurk. mix it all
Tbf you should not give advice as a bronze lol
@@vietcongat5884 but now you have advice, and it is from bronze, so it is up to you what to do with this intel
@@vietcongat5884but he is correct when u are sentinel u have to change ur gameplay every round
@@MrRogalick ratioed
@@vietcongat5884 I'm a plat/dia dl main, the advice is valid, don't put them down if they're not wrong, that's not gonna help them get out of bronze
I think Deadlock has improved after the buffs a few acts ago, but she falls off because her kit is not as viable for solo queuing comp. it requires communication and coordination with your team. additionally, because she is not known to be as strong as the other sentinels, there arent as many references on how to play her. so many people who use her dont utilize her util as effectively.
ur severely underrated, this content is so high quality keep it uppp
the two people talking trash about your pick was Harbor and Reyna💀💀
my personal opinion about deadlock:
I feel like you have to have a mic to play deadlock and have some knowledge about communicating. This is because if you wanna do a play that involves your team, such as the raze and deadlock duo, you have to communicate how you want to play and where you want your team to play with your sensors.
I've loved all of these videos, really well put together, you deserve way more subs man good luck on your youtube journey
Finally someone said she is not useless im happy now
👌👌👌
One of my favorite moments in my time playing deadlock was final round off rip (pretty much) reading what the enemy raze was gonna do and ripping her out of the air as she ulted and satcheled in. It was beautiful
“Foofoo ass comp” is probably the funniest phrase I’ve ever seen in a game chat
As someone who never played Ranked and only played for 3 weeks, low elo players don't know how to save their teammates from the cocoo.
I play dl ONLY on sunset (sometimes) so she is a bit difficult but if you play her right she can be really good and helpful. Her ult clearing corners/getting people off spike, sensors helping with flank or multiple angles, her grab thing stopping people from pushing+getting them off spike
bro i hate how i was looking for that exact soundbite 12 seconds in but thank you for spreading the church of insta(dead)lock
I think the only thing they have to do is remove an ult point (6 point like Phoenix) and make her wall connect the smaller orbs to make a square
"Pull them to their GRAVE!"
I don't get it.
She seems fine to me.
''i am keeping my grave empty''
Keep it up man you’re doing great!! 10k is around the corner
Holy shit its Big Tonka T
I’m very, very new to Valorant and I am very partial to characters in games who aren’t given much love. As much I’m hoping to main Harbor and Deadlock, moreso with a lean on Deadlock cuz her kit just seems so fun and fascinating to me. Thx for the cool video.
Glad you found Deadlock interesting!
I wanna be able to shine the spotlight on the overshadowed characters and show that they
can hold their own as well!
i always end up playing deadlock like a more aggressive kj 😭🙏 but now i’m watching this to finally try and get some understanding on how to play deadlock. love the video so far:3
I’m sold.
The "i suck" at 4:26 triggered something inside me.. 🥵
as a deadlock main, i didn’t even realize that i was subconsciously funneling people into my sound sensors LOL.
One of the best feelings is making an on the fly line up with any ability and getting that assist or even kill.
funny this comes out the day after i get a deadlock that didn’t use one piece of util the entire game.
Here's how I think they can improve deadlock to make her a bit playable
Her wall should be like a Cypher wall where she can put it pre round and activate it
Her gravinet should not affect her teammates or herself or even just herself
Her ult should have be the same as sova ult where they show the trajectory of her ult on the map
Her trips are sadly can't be improved on
And lastly her wall is just too big it's an inconvenience to herself and her team
Im a deadlock user, and im happy cause she's underrated.
Its funny, everytime i use her, my teams dodge the game, its so hurt but its fine😂.
As a Deadlock sidepick
I like this girl, that Gav net is legitimatel one of my favorite Seize ability in the game, the range of this thing is straight up hilarious, and throwing it at chokes while the neon/Raze is trying to rush and snagging them down is always the best feeling
Also hearing *_"THEY COULDN'T SAVE YOU!"_* after annihilate Kills gives me such a Beastly rush
your ten hour videos are amazing, i wish to see you do all the characters one day if you want, much love ❤❤
I’m sorry but Buck Bumble at 0:46 in the year of our lord 2024??
w vid idea, super original for valorant content good work man
With deadlock I like lurking mid then blocking the rotate for attack,
for defense I like camping corners with sound sensors
make the videos longer! they’re so good 😂
This is so entertaining! Please more videos like this🙏
i love the effort in all these vids! good work my brother
I'm a console player and her abilities caught my eye immediately with how I play.
That intro was insane same with the thumbnail amazing job.
I agree, hopefully the new map will introduce a new mechanic into the game which will (possibly) make Deadlock viable on it!
Ok ok, little advice. I find Deadlock to be the most useful when you can actively predict or force the enemy team
tip to aspiring deadlocks, you can surf on the top of the wall like its csgo background footage on a commentary video
Hey love this series and your videos!!! Really minor thing but the paper effect seems to transition really fast on the background and it makes my adhd go brrr and I zone out 😂
you just have to love the reyna calling an other agent shit xD
you play deadlock reactionary or to get an advantage on holding angles with trip wires, or to prevent them from pushing a smoke, her best maps ive found her best in to play are split and bind in ranked (even in scrims), in bind you push either showers or long with a smoke to farm the orb n put a trip next to the smoke, they contest long with a flash, they get stunned, then just combos in general with raze, on split, i play with like a sage duo and spam walls, with so much stall potential, you only put trips where enemies are 100% going to be and play off those trips by jump peeking with an extra advantage as the trip stun
i play deadlock where i take space and hold angles with an advantage of a stun and play off that with my brim and sage duo, its pretty broken (deadlock is underrated asf on these maps)
My main the absolute goat, got a 6k yesterday, she's absolutely viable. You should play Chamber theres a bad sentinel.
BROOOOOOO, Valve did NOT just name their game after VALORANT character of all characters 💀
Great vid + vid concept man!
Not easy to rush or retake a site from her, especially using those utils well.
awesome video!! will be so happy when u finally blow up
I used to main deadlock.
I learned how to use her cypher like trip wires that has aoe but only activates on sound.
Very good for stuffs where people rush to rotate to.
Learned how to use the wall.
Watched a vid of using the wall orbs "like protection"
Tried it once, failed miserably.
Anyways I'll start watching the video now.
/
Here is what I learned in this video.
And what I thought.
Since deadlock sound senser...
Imagine if someone pulls to A site while everyone is in B site.
The single person in A site has the spike.
He was still sneaky.
Walking to make sure no one will suspect.
But then when he/she starts to plant the spike.
(Sound senser)
Activates and the enemy spike holder gets jumpscared and people rotate.
sometimes as dead lock, i like to throw the sound sencor at an incoming enemy knowing they are gonna step on it as they push at me.
A neat trick I learned is that the sound sensor is activated on n enemy attempting spike defuse. So if you're able to position it in a certain way it can be really clutch
I really like this kind of video seeing someone pushing a character that nobody plays
In my not so long experience playing Deadlock, one of the most annoying thing is your owm teammate not cooperating. One time in Bind I had the perfect Sound Barrier setup in B Site Window and told my friend to don't go too near the window. He went and rush anyways and got into the range of the stun.
Ok so one thing i noticed not many people talk about:
Deadlock is amazing pick when playing with duo, combination of her net and for example Breach or Raze is just amazing, many times i helped my duo get 3 kills at the start of the round and fully stop enemy team from pushing our side (no joke, they would do everything to avoid running into us), or using skills that force enemy to make sound, like sending random stun enemy way or just shooting at them so they move to where stun is.
Ik you’re a cypher main. Personally I am too but I would love to see an episode on him one day. Love this series.
I love how ur editor cooks this video
LETS GO life gets boosted by 15% when you post
Guys, brim's ult + deadlock nade = meta.
Once playing on haven, i threw a nade to prevent rush, all of the team was stunned and brim hits his ult on them. That was quickest ace ive ever seen. So guys, play with brim in your lobby if you play dradlock
I really don't think deadlock is bad. I'm a deadlock main and paired with someone who plays raze is really good. Good video btw. Your so close to 5K!
Love this series! Pls try Clove next👀
Clec gives every bad agent needed justice
As a Deadlock main, thank you for making this video.
First time seeing your content. Absolutely love this video!
So what I've learned is Deadlock isn't preventative, she doesn't do much to successfully block entry, but she does have a niche of tools to destroy pushes once they're on.
