The best part in the studio in the end is You, with your good mood! I'm looking forward to the Supersection, as it's probably going to bring back good memories for you.
😃 Yes I love Roland stuff. The reason why I don’t have the Fantom is because I have the Jupiter 80.. and lots of others… but yea.. I would love the Fantom too…. But .. can’t have them all 🤣🤣 Unfortunately 🤣
Impressive and beautiful studio! thanks! It is obvious that you really like Roland and Korg synthesizers. You don't have American versions like Prophet or Moog, and the only European representative is the Ultra Nova 😉 The Japanese sound is unique, polite and calm and trained, maybe except for the ms-20 😅
Thank you :) Yes I am a big fan of Roland and KORG. Unfortunately the Moog and prophet was so extremely expensive here in Norway at the time of their release.. so that’s the main reason why I didn’t bought that back in the days… 😃
Oh yeah... This is a hole new studio! My first thought was wooow, the man actually did it, he buildt a hole new studio Piano fingers are unique, they can even be used as a carpenter - Your new studio looks absolutely awesome - Really good job Genn 👍
Oh man , I still have my MC50 … this was my main sequencer back in the days , but still with floppy disk. After that I started making music on PC. The MC50 was easy to use … especially for real-time recordings. Editing was something else on that small screen, but I did a lot recordings with this. I want to use it again but I don’t have the usb connection that you have installed. Should be nice to use this again with modern synths. This was really a nice piece of gear ( saving on floppy disk 💾 😂 … if they still exist)
The MC50 was my “go to sequencer monster” for many many years. I also hooked it up via SMPT so that my ADAT controlled it. It was the masterpiece of my studio for many years. But yes… it had to be recorded right at once because the editing was a …………::🤣🤣
Because of your videos, you recommended for me to buy a Roland Gaia. I recently used it in an original composition live, and I got a lot of positive feedback! It’s nice that you take the time to respond to your viewers, as in my case, it helped me expand my music. Great studio video as well!
That was very nice to hear that you went for the Gaia. It’s a great choice, and it will never be “old” The endless possibilities with that little monster is what keeps it “new” for years to come 😃😃😃 And I do my best to follow up on questions from viewers- And it makes me very happy that I could help you choose a great synth 😃😃😃
Now, this is a studio dream tour ... :) I would love to see Korg MS 2000 or Gaia 2 presentation, maybe make a video or two combining one "old" synth and one (more) "new" synth; like a battle of synths, comparing the sounds or playing side by side etc. That would be fun and you have a lot of them so you could have many different combinations ... I'm just wondering did you ever had Yamaha RS7000 when it came out or Yamaha RM1X etc. when the techno crazy VA era was on full power around 2000? You have JP 8000, and Korg MS 2000 from that era, and that's it. What happened around year 2000 until 2006 (Roland SH201 - 2006 year of release) that you didn't buy anything back then? :)
It would be cool to do a MS2000 VS Gaia 2 😃😃 I’ve had the KORG M1 and the Wavestate. I did not have any Yamaha except the DX21 and the Qx21. And also in that period I did lots of touring. And then I had the KORG Triton Extreme 88, but I sold it… so I’ve had some synths during that period… but you can’t keep’em all 😃😃😃
Hi Glenn - WOW what a beautiful studio and collection that you have built! Thank you for sharing! I do have a question for you. I’d like to know the brand and model number of the multi-tier synth stands that you use in your studio? Thank you! - Alfred (new subscriber)
Instead of the Mac mini, go for the Mac Studio! With the mini, you have to tick so many options and upgrades ending up being expensive. With the max chip and 32GB Ram in the Mac Studio, you will on top have great performance doing video editing as well 😎 I went for the same option two years ago and really glad I did 🤠
everything to make good vibes, good sounds Glenn, lucky man ! 😜 I have just a little remark : some Roland Boutique aren't dublicates with the real synthesizers that you have ? What is the point ?
Thanx😃😃 Yes I feel lucky to have this space 😃😃😃 The boutiques it’s a “collection thing” for me.. I use them also… but of course I’d rather prefer the “originals” 😃😃😃😃 But as I said in the video … I’m a bit “kok-ko…🤪🤣🤣😃😃
Do you have any external rack effects laying around like the 1176? Would really love to see that in your studio one day;) What do you do with all those patchbays on the corners of your studio table?😄 You normally use the MOTU MIDI interface for your synths right?
I just use effects from my daw.. 😃 Yes I use the mouth midi interface to connect all my synths to my Mac / DAW. The patch bays are connected to my ADA800 Adat interfaces (I do have 2 of them, so I can choose the synths I want to record.. the reason why I need the Patch bays are simply because my audio interface does not have enough inputs for all my synths at once 🤣🤣😃😃
Hi Glenn, thanks for showing us your studio, very impressive, had a few Roland’s back in the 80’s and I do miss them. If you had to take one piece of equipment from your studio to a desert island which piece would you take, cheers Glyn.
Hi Glenn, that makes perfect sense mate, it does seem like a great piece of kit. I’ve got the Roland Cloud Pro and keep thinking an MC 707 or even the MC 101 would make a good replacement. Thanks for all your uploads you do for us mate, they make a great view and are very entertaining to watch. Cheers Glyn.
@@RalphGProject - I don’t read sheets, I only hear a song and play it… or.. I can read sheets, but it would take the whole day to go through one song probably… 🤣🤣
I vacuum clean my synths with this small small vacuum cleaner, and I have this special dust brush… but it’s an ongoing fight against dust…🤣 I don’t have any surge protection except some sockets with protection against high voltage or unstable voltage. If there is a lightning storm approaching, I always unplug the main fuse 😃😃😃
Nope… just love the Roland synths :) I have always considered Roland to be more “synth sounds” and Yamaha / KORG the more “hard/digital” sounds. In my setup live I normally mix the brands to get more variation 😃 But I understand 100% why you ask that question 🤣🤣😃😃👍👍👍
