I just followed this recipe, and it is almost perfect! As she mentioned, I prefer a slightly deeper chocolate flavor, so I added a generous helping of Nestle Carnation Chocolate Malted Milk mix, and it was perfect!
Next time u make a frosty for the chocolate u can either add chocolate syrup, coca powder, or chocolate ice cream mix for more of a chocolate taste & vanilla ice cream mix for vanilla for a more vanilla taste plus u can get a strawberry ice cream mix or syrup & make a strawberry one 😋
I have a Simac Il Gelataio 1600 ice cream/gelato maker, which I got for a bargain for about $300, this thing looks like it could tackle soft serve ice cream or gelato! Huge props for them guns!! For $0 I put frozen blueberries an a cup with either milk or half and half depending on how keto I want to be lol, mix it up, its like blueberry ice cream! My finance illuminated me to that treat, 10/10 Highly recommend!!!
You can try the vanilla version. Found a recipe that might work (haven't tested, but looked promising). 1 3/4 cups whole milk 1 1/4 cups heavy cream 1/2 cup fat-free half-and-half 1/2 cup light corn syrup 1/3 cup granulated sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon salt 1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk gently until the sugar is dissolved. If you’re creating bubbles in the mixture, you are mixing too hard. Place the bowl in your refrigerator for 1 hour to chill. 2. When you are ready to make the Frosty, pour all the ingredients from the bowl into your Ninja Slushi and hit Milkshake button and select desired temp for thickness. Dispense the Frosty into two 16-ounce cups. Makes 2 medium servings.
Thank you for sharing! I came up with a new recipe in the following video, but I would love to try this one too! th-cam.com/video/ivRLKmu-LOo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AcaN1xIjmQbU1Xaj Thanks so much for watching!
I’ve used some Premier Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter Shakes to make Ice Cream in my Ninja Creami Deluxe and I gotta tell you that ~ to me, it tasted exactly like a Wendy’s Frosty.
Using low fat milk will affect the flavor and consistency/texture of the frosty. You can also add chocolate syrup to get more of a chocolate flavor, and add real vanilla (not imitation vanilla that you used) to get more vanilla flavor. Coming from making our own homemade ice cream, we are looking at getting this Ninja as well for slushies and frosty deserts. We have our ice cream recipes down really well and have completely replicated mcdonalds soft serve, it's amazing. Then we use that soft serve to make variants like strawberry, peanut butter, or chocolate ice creams by just adding flavored syrups
These are great tips! Thanks so much for sharing! I actually prefer imitation vanilla (lol I'm weird) but it definitely did not work in this recipe! I will have to get the real thing!! 😁
Game Changer! How does Tyler keep his trim fit with you as his wife? 😂 as far as the vanilla vs chocolate frosty debate. When I tell Wendy’s I want a frosty and they ask if I want vanilla or chocolate, I always respond that “only a serial killer would get vanilla”.
I wonder if for the Vanilla Frosty, the vanilla coffee syrup you use for lattes etc would work? I used to put that in my vanilla milkshakes along with vanilla ice cream when I had to use the ninja blender to make them.
That should work! I made a follow-up video using French Vanilla Coffee Mate Creamer and that worked. th-cam.com/video/ivRLKmu-LOo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Q79gxJ0LxWHQPk-3 I have also used Torani Vanilla Syrup and that worked as well! Thanks so much for watching! 😃
I had heard years ago that chocolate Quik powder was part of the secret Frosty recipe. Maybe that's why the real thing tasted more chocolatey? I wonder how it would compare to the use of pre-made chocolate milk, or perhaps even try using Quik-branded chocolate milk.
That's a good idea! I'm sure brand of milk would make a difference. Fairlife is supposed to be good and Nesquick also. I will try a different milk the next time I make it and update!! Thanks so much for watching! 😃
Hello, I just purchased the ninja slushy and I made the recipe milkshake that came with the book and I did it to a T but there were like a little bits in the milkshake like fat bits from what I read the fat in the milk is separating due to the cold, but I mixed it really really well. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.
I haven't noticed this when I've made milkshakes using the recipe in the book, but I will look into it and get back with you!! Thanks so much for watching! 😃
@@kstorrer I had discussed the machine and your original revuew video with my wife and she was hesitant. We had already reviewed the previous ice cream maker and decided to take a pass on it. She's always wanted to own a "real' soft serve maker that can directly turn the liquid into "soft" ice cream. I told her about your Frosty review in the machine and that was needed to confirm the intent to buy the machine. Now I'm circling the website looking for the opportunity to buy it. Retail stores will get them in November. The Canadian Ninja website just listed the model as available last month. I will most likely end up buying it direct.
Next time use - REAL COOL WHIP (don't thaw in microwave ) Use a better milk - whole milk (especially if you're just getting rid of it) Try real vanilla on top of a quality vanilla
Good questions! The size of the cup in the video is a size Small. I would estimate that you could probably fill at least 8 cups probably more. I ended up pouring it into a bowl and then freezing it which of course changes the consistency, but it's now like ice cream and I have a ton of it! You could always halve the recipe if you don't want that much which is probably what I'll do next time.
@@kstorrer You read my mind. I was both thinking about halfing the recipe and storing the remaining in the freezer for next day (albeit it would lose it's consistency and become frozen, it'd still be good to eat). I love the fact the ingredients are fairly straightforward. Cool whip, condensed milk and milk are standard staples in our fridge. Heavy cream is not, which is what most ice cream recipes use and I don't recall this recipe using it -- so that's good.
We have tried this and it comes out so airy, the texture, it’s like trying to drink whip cream, can’t figure out how to get it to be more of a liquid texture like a frosty, any idea what is going wrong?
I'm sorry it's not working for you! Are you maybe keeping it in the machine for too long? You don't have to wait for it to beep if it looks like it's finished. Also, are you sure you are measuring the Sweetened Condensed Milk correctly? It's kind of difficult to measure 7 oz since it's so sticky and difficult to pour. That's all I can think of. I hope you get it figured out!! 🙂
I made this recipe today. How do i get it to be more creamy? It makes the ice kinda gritty instead of smooth like a real frosty. Tastes really good, just the texture is off.
My texture turned out basically identical to Wendy's. Did you mix everything really well before pouring it into the machine? Made sure the cool whip was thawed? Maybe it was the milk you used? Whole milk will make it creamier. I hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching! 😃
@@kstorrer i only use whole milk, brand new jug, cool whip has been in the fridge for a few days so it was perfectly thawed, I wisked everything together very well. Wonder if adding heavy whipping cream would do anything
