This was probably the most fun I've had reviewing a vehicle in a while, and the worst experience I've had editing in a long time, this was an intensive one!

Isaac, you have made great video over the years but this by far takes the cake. I have a personal connection with the 70s Land Cruisers as my uncle had one growing up and I've ridden in one a few times. It is my dream to own one some day :)
    Great job!

Having owned about every model since 1972 I’d have to say this model is most iconic but my best one was the 1993 80 series. Virtually indestructible. PS: I owned them all from new. Yeah, I’m that old😄

The 1994 I did an overland trip from the USA all through Central America, It never let me down. I had 4 Runners, Tundra's and even a Prius, lol.. I'm current back in a 1980 FJ43, love this thing. @AlphaShark You said you wish they brought something like this back with vintage look but modern airbag. Toyota brought back the 70 series pickups they used to make but I don't know if they will bring it to the US Market. They are making them for a lot of other markets like Australia and Aussie love the 70 series Toyota. You should find a old Toyota 70s series and review it and compare it to the modern 70s series.

Have you ever laid eyes on or driven the newest iteration of the FJ Cruiser. It was built from 2007-2014. I own a 2013 FJ and I wouldn't trade it for anything except a 1974 FJ Landcruiser. I enjoyed your video and recalled back to riding around in my older cousins 1970 FJ Landcruiser. Thank you.

I have an F250 for towing and family outings and a 911 Turbo for business trips to Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antoine when the weather is good, but for local excursion into town or out to the lake or river, it’s the FJ all day long.

I had one, similar color that I applied myself, but a 1969. Mine had a PTO winch. 3 sp, all original drivetrain, except it had a 1976 disc brake front axle. It had a throttle locking cable so you could raise the rpm for winching. Also, one of those buttons should open the center vent which is on top just behind the hood. Right below the windshield. Mine also had a full hardtop, plus a full vinyl top, and a bikini top. Built my own tire and gas can carrier. Paid $2K for it back in 1995. Drove it all over the high desert of northern Nevada, Calif., and Oregon. Never let me down. Now my son has it, and is going though it completely to freshen it up. Wish I had it back.

Hi AlphaShark, nice video ! I own a 1979 BJ43 that is in a full restauration phase after I have been ripped off by an thug who slaughtered it and took my money and my time. If you can, make a little prayer for that Toyota to be finished the way it deserves it, I would appreciate it. I gave the car to another person who I hope is worthwhile restoring it. Many thanks to you, you are a good man. 😊

Your explanation is reality because I was born in 1960 and I still remember my father bought a Toyota land cruiser and at that time there was no proper road was built because we were looked after by Australian adminstration or Australian government and I knew and experienced of this truck and I believe this truck is very powerful than anything other vehicles made today in the world, but one thing is that there's no this type of vehicle running in my country PNG and one thing I really feel is that this truck breakdown needing any part of it, that's. only thing I think twice of it, comment from the county PNG,

Great video. Some of your observations cracked me up. I realize you might just be repeating what the owner, or your dad told you though. Jump seats: those were not just a Toyota thing. We had a Chevy? station wagon when I was a kid that had them. Shifting instructions: not ever manufacturer had the gears in the same location so knowing the pattern was very helpful because figuring it out on your own was noisy and harmful to the vehicle! Locking hubs: getting out and locking the hubs was common on lots of vehicles for quite a few years. Parking brake: pulling it out engages it, turning and letting it go back in releases it. High beams: click once to turn them on, click again to turn them off. It was on every vehicle for years although I've never seen it between pedals like that. It was very helpful to find out the noise level. It was obviously fairly noisy even at 20mph. That alone might put a stop to my research on potentially buying one for a daily driver.

The Land Rover was yet another version of the willys Jeep. After World War II all of the willys Jeeps that were used by the British military were sold as surplus stock to Farmers. The British Farmers loved them so much that they demanded a version of their own.
