I have some very old brushes similar to the dry brushes that I got on super clearance at a ceramics shop and was never able to find replacements or upgrades for, so this was a nice surprise to find! While they aren't exactly the same as my old brushes, I am very curious about how they might compare since these sound very similar. I also appreciate how you described everything in such detail! I'm glad it was helpful for you! I know how disappointing it is when a favorite brush wears out and you can't find a good replacement for it... I still have a few I'm trying to find good swaps for, but maybe someday.
Those are beautiful brushes and I really like the case. The 2nd set reminds me of my own makeup brushes. Maybe they will add the brushes you described in the future. "And it only takes a couple of seconds for me to figure out that..yeah, I love this!" I think you are going to have some new favorite brushes out of these sets. It is fun to try new things and discover new techniques to use. I'd say these brushes are a hit!
Yeah, some people love makeup brushes for blushing but I always found the bristles were too long for me to control them well. These are a great substitute because they're the same shape and they're soft like that, but much shorter bristles means the pastel dust goes where I actually want it!
The dry brush set looks similar to the Artis Opus line. I'm more of a mini painter now and haven't painted bjd faces in over a decade, but this video popped up in my feed. The price point doesn't seem too terrible for either set if someone is just starting out! The case is also a nice bonus for storage.
There are definitely a lot more options for faceups than there used to be, and I'm glad for it! I still think there's a time where most people should consider upgrading to higher-end tools, but it sure is nice to see some entry-level pricing.
