...28:00 cam bearing. Although it was an older Ironhead Sporty, I had an HD dealer work on it (1982 or so). one of the cam needle bearings was 'loose' in the inner case. What would be your proper 'Fix' for that? I believe he tried to knurl the aluminum, resulting in a bearing failure while running.
Well, one bearing had broken and needles got in there and seized up the crank, between flywheels and the case...I took the motor completely apart, and installed 4 new Torrington bearing for cams. They all had decent press-fit and I saw no evidence of any 'knurling' by HD shop...motor ran fine for years.
i was making sure the new seal retainer and spacer were playing friendly with each other. i had to take the 1954 panhead motor all apart to fix one that did not. better to check it now than do that one again. tatro

What tool is that to remove and unscrew the engine seal? And screw the new seal on?
Any tips on removing the inner main race retaining ring? I’ve tried numerous size awls and pry
why would you want to remove it. if you can't get it out it must be good.

that would be the race, not the ring. replace the race and leave the ring in place.

In an earlier video you said you painted the cases. What paint did you use? Also what are you using to clean your small parts? Hate chrome too. Thanks
the paint varies depending on what i am doing. i just use aervoe engine paint. i degrease and bead blast my parts.

loctite or sleeving the hole. it depends on what loose is.

Why did you have to pull the double sprocket @ 19:00, then put it back on? I didn't hear you give a reason.
