    Wow thank you for making this video! I’m from Canada and over here , the hydroquinone is always through a prescription in a compound with other ingredients ! I had it sitting there in my fridge in fear it might cause 1001 problems internally and externally because of the lack of information I had! But thank you! I have terrible melasma which has really affected me and my family doctor told me that the hydroquinone would definitely help! Now I’m going to try it out! Thank you!!!!!

    OMG! Dr. Dray! This is awesome information! After many promptings from family, friends, etc, I decided to go to a dermatologist regarding the dark patch on my forehead. I explained that I noticed the patch spreads more when I'm in the sun. She prescribed a hydroquinone topical cream (4%), and a tretinoin topical cream (5%), because of my MELASMA. She also said I should use sunscreen. In the past, I was leery of using sunscreen because I have normal-to-oily skin. I know better now. Anywho, that appointment was in October, and I've been researching hydroquinone ever since, simply because of those fears you addressed.

    This is by far the most informative video I have ever watched from a dermatologist! Given all of this evidence, is it reasonable to consider using hydroquinone while breast-feeding? Hi Andrea, I understand totally your intention to finish with the hydroquinone's demonization, it can be, I don't know a companies marketing strategy to outperform hydroquinone of the competition and then sell their skin bleachers?, it has happen before in the pharmaceutical industry, I only can buy hydroquinone as a skin bleach product in my country's pharmacies and your video gives calm to my life, because the message is "I can continue applying hydroquinone without any health danger". You do realize that to get the same 2% concentration of Hydroquinone from something like a pear or coffee, you have to find some way to concentrate the crap out of it which may end up being detrimental to the skin. I think pears have like 4-15 ppm of Hydroquinone. 2% would be 20,000 ppm. It would be cheaper to just buy an over-the-counter Hydroquinone cream.

    This was super interesting and informative. I rarely watch 20+ min. long videos, but the way you explain things is just so knowledgeable! I was recently prescribed hydroquinone by my own Dermatologist after I've dealt with some hyper-pigmentation on my face from Pro-Active treatment back in high school back when they used to run the ads for all the teenagers like me to see, feel self-conscious, then run and go tell their parents. Pro-Active's products in exchange for that "gold fix all deal for just $19.99" (a load of bullsh*t) actually ending up burning and discoloring my skin. Fast forward to 5 years later I'm really happy with the way my skin looks and has healed now but, with the hydroquinone treatment I think my skin tone will finally be fully evened out again. I'm glad I found this video because it really helped to alleviate a lot of my concerns about what I was putting on my skin which I'm very careful of these days. Thank you Dr.Dray, definitely earned the sub!

    Hello Dr Dray, l am sufering with melasma and l never quite realised the emotional impact it has on me until you mentioned it in this video. I am about to start a treatment with Tretinoin 0.025%/ Hydroquinone 4% cream and I have been very apprehensive of the effects the hydroquinone may have on my skin. You have been simply amazing in putting my mind to rest! 👍 Thank you very much for all your informative videos, your opinion l always one l rely on 👏 Please keep educating us! Catalina / UK

      Catalina Randle Same here. I was just prescribed those creams this week for my melasma but have not yet started them. Im a bit nervous, because I have sensitive skin with rosacea. I was prescribed to use them both each night (not sure which one is supposed to go first), but I think I might start this routine by alternating the two each night until I know my skin can handle it.
      What do you do and how’s it going?

    • @catalinarandle6420
      @catalinarandle6420 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rae8Anne , I stared my treatment on 9th June and I had no issues whatsoever! In general I don’t really have issues with my skin, I am not sensitive .... Having said that, the very first 2 days in my treatment I felt a slight tingling for an hour or so after applying the cream, but nothing major. My treatment is just one cream combining the 2 ingredients and I use it every night, this is what the dermatologist instructed. I do suggest keep a very very simple skincare routine , no acids , peels etc and must use sunscreen every day!
      Not sure if is what I want to see 😊 but I think there is a slight improvement in my melasma patches ( I have on forehead, cheekbones and upper lip ... typical places 🥺).
      I did quite a lot of research before starting the treatment 😊 just to try to avoid any unpleasant surprises. Let me know if there is anything else I can share from my experience 🤗 Good luck!

    Thank you, I really appreciate the info. I support the use of Hydroquinone for melasma, coming from a point where I had it all over my face. Hydroquinone really works, it just takes a lot of patience and time, because one can see the results after 4 months. Also the one I used in the past had a strong smell, so it was not pleasant at all, but today I am doing great. It will never go away completely, especially if exposed to the sun, that’s why your channel is so important , spreading the message of the SPF’s use. I used it even before discovering you, but now, I am even more diligent with the multiple applications. Grazie😘

    I just found your channel and am enjoying your videos. My question is: do you recommend toner and (if so) what toners do you recommend? Or, rather, what ingredients should I be looking for/avoiding? Are they necessary? Toners have always been the only element of recommended skincare that I could never get on board with or find one that works well enough for me to use consistently. I apologize if you already covered this topic, but I did do a search of your channel and could not find anything specific on toners. Thank you!
