  • Another night video strife and blooper reels.
    Since the weather won't allow me to get outdoors, I guess it's time to perform a little preventive maintenance and get ready for the tree climbing season that lies just around the corner.

      @Wayne Polcin an old climber gave me a set of Buckingham tree spurs and they didn't have any kind of pattern on the underside of the spike. He may have never maintained them. Got them to where they look and act more like they should. 🌲❤️🌲👊🪓

    Another fine video production for us all to ponder (Let mind wander?) upon from.... What's his name? Stay tuned!! #WaynesWorld #MadeMeLaughAgain Hey Wayne! FYI on 04/01/2021 we will turn 66 years of age and already consider ourself as RETIRED (Although I am constantly looking for things to do). #StaySafe #BeKind #RambleOn (There's actually a Led Zeppelin song by that title: "Ramble On") Guess I should stop for now as my typing finger is killing me. #HashTagNotFound

      And you never sharpen side to side you go with the grain hold the file sideways and pull towards you on the bottom of the gaf what you just did was ruin those gafs they should be taken off and tossed and new set put on

    Hey guy, ĭ wonder where to buy some used gaffs 😳

  • @BigSkoom
    @BigSkoom 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can agree they r sharp point/tip but a sharp point doesn't mean it will function well. I purchased used spikes and want to sharpen them for the first time but not to sure about this video. Have u actually climbed with those spikes, kinda like a chainsaw tooth a sharp pointed edge won't cut a function sharp tooth with a nice working corner is what u want

    • @WaynePolcin
      @WaynePolcin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Isaiah. Yes, I climb with these gaffs all the time. When I sharpen them, I make sure to follow the original contour of the spike. The inside of the spike must remain flat from front to back and you don't want to change the angle or shape of the point. The manufacturer makes a file guide that you can buy to make sure you keep the perfect profile. Thank you so much for leaving a comment!
