- In this video I will explain the core mechanics of Company of Heroes 2 and go into detail how they are used and how they should be used. I hope you find this helpful.

Bit of extra detail about cover;
Green Cover, you units are 50% harder to hit, take 50% less damage, and have a 90% resistance to suppression.
Yellow Cover, your units are 50% harder to hit, and have a 50% resistance to suppression.
Red Cover (or negative cover) you units are 25% more likely to be hit, take 25% more damage, and take 50% more suppression.
Cover is direction based, so it needs to be between the units being shot at and the shooter to be taken into effect. So keep in mind that if you build sandbags on a road that would normally provide red cover, and are being flanked, you will then be considered to be in red cover once more.
And finally the bounces provide by Green and Yellow Cover will be negated if a unit is 10 game units away from each other, you are considered to be at point blank range. Both units will be considered to be in neutral ground to one another while they will revive the benefits of the cover if attacked from other units. If you are in a garrisoned inside of a building, your units will be unaffected by the point blank range effects.
And finally an odd little quark about grenade and green cover, even if you throw the grenade over the green cover and it lands on the other side, as long as the person who throw the grenade is considered to be on the other side of the cover, it will still provide the 50% damage reduction. SO it's not as important where the grenade lands, but where the thrower is located relative to the cover.
And one get bonus damage by incendiary grenades when in cover
@@learningthroughpain.7215 imo it is necessary to leave cover. That way you prevent your whole squad being wiped out by a single grenade
What is „10 units“ supposed to mean?
@@MrBomoro There is no official name for the in game unit of measurement, but I suppose they roughly equivalate to what could be visualized to be about a meter or a yard.

i was wondering about this, too. Just moving the mouse the the screen border doesnt allow you to move around that fast. clicking on the map is quite fast but not as fast as hans.
im really unhappy about coh because the game doesnt allow you to see or change the hotkeys. This shoulg be a standard mechanic and every other game i can think of allows you to change that in the settings.

Would recrewing an mg or at gun with a certain squad (eg. sturmpioneers) give the mg 2 pioneers with op dps to watch their flank while the gunner watches the front? Also do they keep reinforcing as pioneers, or do those models get replaced by a default model for that unit?
Yes they keep reinforcing as the units u gave it. But still having the reinforce cost of said unit. So basically if u take with sturmpio u have OP dps unit covering the flank but the reinforce cost will be huge.
@@Recker1125 I'm pretty sure you're wrong. Units that are 'supporting' team weapons with their firearms have their damage lowered drastically.

@@kacperarab4078 i once had to retreat my flanking volks from an mg bec i got close and flanked but didnot notice their were shock troop models in the mg. And my volks were dropping like butter. Not as fast as what a normal shock can do. But i assure you. Alot faster than normal support model

How can I change my keybindings? Attack ground for me is "G" and reverse is "U", your keybindings do much more sense, but the game options won't let me change it....
Edit: Never mind, found the option to turn off "classic COH keybindings", so at least I get the same grid system as Hans.

Not really 45:40 ... You got a larger hole blown out your butt when you get close as a Volksgrenadier vs. Storm Troopers. (edit: 38 minutes later it gets addressed). What about British Infantry Section? I'd say if you use bolt action rifles you want to keep a medium-long distance to retain accuracy and breathing room. Hopefully we get a talk about blobs and countering them (edit: so many late video explanations xD 1:25:00).
Some things I wish to learn:
General placement. I'm slowly developing my game sense but for newer players, where should you leave your units when they're semi-idle? Rally point positions? For example, I usually put my anti-tank guns near the middle of the map where I can respond more quickly to armoured threats. Artillery in the corner where it's in range but easier to defend (as you can't be surrounded from every direction) etc.
I'd also like some real pro talk about resource management and critical decision making in stressful situations. In every video game, we need miracles and clutches. I want to hear your experience on that matter. How to fight against a blobbing, camping US Forces jerk (or maybe Soviets, for that matter). What do you need to prioritise when fighting specific factions? (Eg. MG34 as OKW vs Soviet and American, or lieg support gun against Brits etc.)
Some general analysis and explanation of play styles used by top players from your perspective (I hear casters mentioning Luvnest using tactical map more than others) etc. TALISMAN!!! What a god... I'm a big fan boy of Talisman's OKW... so goooood.
