  • Deepest apologies for the messiness and repetitiveness of this. I really struggled with this one and you’ll see why. Still, I’m ok with it and hope you enjoy it.

I read your Good Reads review, and I'm interested in reading the book, just to step out of my "Thriller/Murder/Mystery/Whodunit" comfort zone. Hopefully, a hard read like this won't traumatize me. 😅

@@SavageTheLife Lol I feel you! And yes, it will definitely be out of ANY comfort zone 🥺. I didn’t realize it would be as harsh as it was. Hope you enjoy it if you decide to read it, and I wish you better luck than I had getting attached to the characters. That was the most ❤️ breaking thing for me about it. I wanted to love those characters. Thank you for your kind words.

My opinion of the book? There was no conversion therapy shown or depiction of Christianity, good or bad. We are told that conversion therapy is bad but the author doesn't show how. In fact as another critic pointed out, Jesus was mentioned as a cuss word more than he was spoken about by the camp staff.

@@virginiaweir-hj1rt That’s all true, because it was never a real conversion camp to begin with. It was an insidious ruse used by an evil entity to lure unsuspecting victims into its snares. Therefore Christianity would not be depicted. To me the book served as a metaphor on the IDEA of conversion therapy and the stigmas attached to it, which is what the evil counted on.
