She then forgot about when she said to the BBC that she actually stayed with her uncle and aunt. Or the time when she said she crossed the Gobi dessert on Jordan Peterson, where she said she did so without protective clothing... The world records for the first person to do so. But I am also not so desperate to believe someone like Yeomi Park who keeps modifying her stories, which even got other NK defectors calling her lies. You would be wise to look more into this.
@@alanclw6024 so are you trying to make your misconceptions as to what she says true in your head, or are you just doubting because you've never lived a life as awful as her life?
@Rendezvous Lmao... Even western media have called on her lies back in 2014. Here, enlighten yourself: "The strange tale of Yeonmi Park" by Mary Ann Jolley (December, 2014) published on The Diplomat. Time to wake up and face reality.
Here's a little thing that might blow your mind: Our government is not stupid and they don't lack common sense. What they're doing is not incompetence, an accident, a well-meaning thing gone bad.. That's not it at all. No, they know what they're doing. They know how it makes you suffer. They want you to. They want your children to. They want you to perish forever and be forgotten. They want to destroy everything you've ever loved and cared for. It's important for them for you to feel that way though because it wouldn't have the same effect if you didn't simply think that they had no clue what they were doing. If people realized that Joe Biden is acting and is not actually going senile. It's all the plan.
Every time I watch Yeonmi Park I am humbled. The evil she has seen, and suffered through, is mind boggling. Even though she has lived through such terrible things, she is still able to smile. My parents told me of the hardships they suffered during, and after WWII in Germany. Near the end of the war my father was almost sent to fight the Russians at 15, and my mother fled what is now Poland, but was Germany at the time, when she was 12. My wife came from South Korea, born in 1962, her parents having barely survived the war. She came here alone to seek a better life. Our parents brought us up to love America, and the freedom most people take for granted here. I see in Yeonmi's face, and hear the same heartbreak in her voice, that my parents conveyed to us, as they saw Americans destroying our country before their eyes. The left is doing what much of the rest of the world wants to do, and that is to destroy America! We must do something about our schools and the damage they are doing to our children. We have allowed them to poison our greatest resource, and our only hope, our children. The left are following the blueprints laid out by socialists, communists, and dictators. They separate children from their families and take over the role of the parents. Then, once they brainwash the children, they get them to turn in their parents for wrong think. Under the leftist leadership, they are separating Americans into groups, and Americans are now self segregating! The self proclaimed "uniters," are fracturing America into separate groups and saying, "if you vote for Trump, you ain't black." That, to me, does not sound like a uniter. I pray that more young people, like those who came to hear Yeonmi speak, will spread the word that what they are being taught is wrong. We need to get back on the path we were on in the 80's. One people, one nation. We have a lot of work to do, and it is up to young people to pull us together.
The problem is that the pain passes to other people too. It does not end at that moment but it hurts people like a wave. Like Yeonmi said. She said North Korean people are dicriminated in their own free country they deserve, South Korea.(07:00) It is really sad, but I can understand why some of us South Koreans did that. Young Korean people like me would not discriminate North Korean refugees but be very interested in her and try to be friends with her, but old people do hate North Koreans, and apparently basically everything about North Korea including their accent. I am not saying it is okay. this is not okay. However honestly quite understandable. North Korean socialists totally destroyed South Koreas people's lives with their sickening idea, and the old people are the ones who are very much traumatised by them. Imagine you're about to have a good meal with your friends at a restaurant in a peaceful day and you hear the accent of the murderers who brutally murdered your family and friends decades ago. They'll obviously feel the painful memories so the owners of the restaurants would not prefer North Korean people even if it is obviously unjust for North Korean refugees. It is not okay to discriminate them, but one has to keep in mind the discrimination Yeonmi suffered from also came from the disgusting idea which Yeonmi also hates. I really thank Americans like your father and you, and capitalism which Americans introduced in this land. They are the reasons why we South Koreans can live like this. They are the reasons why totalitarian ideas such as fascism or communism could be beheaded and never set their filthy foot on this planet anymore. God bless America and Americans. However it seems like even America is not safe anymore. Some youngsters openly say that they believe in socialism or communism, and the whole system, aka "sexist, transphobic, oppressive, white supremist, corporate America" should be destroyed. It will never end with their personal life failure which seems like they're already experiencing. It will end up harming every innocent American who was not even interested in their idea at all but to respect their violent idea. If America fails, everyone fails. I really hope your country overcomes their threat.

The way young children are being indoctrinated in schools all the way to college , that regimes like N.Korea , Cuba and Venezuela are good and that the US is bad. The same thing simultaneously is being done in Western Europe.
My family lived in the Soviet Union and in school I learnt that the reason all the Soviet countries failed afterwards was because of the US!! And now many people my age are saying there was nothing wrong with the Soviet Union, it was when they went back to free market that all hell broke lose. The reason they are still struggling in most places is that they spent so much time being told what to do, not trusting one another, learning to do the bare minimum to not be reported instead of doing their best to receive well… that of course it wouldn’t be easy when they were on their own, competing with those who didn’t had their freedoms taken away. Suddenly out of nowhere you have entire culture with bad habits to fix, so of course the first thing everyone would be was what everyone was already being in order to survive: corrupt!
Agreed! I grew up poor, but now I’m grateful to be able to buy a new refrigerator when it breaks down and to be able to afford the electricity to run it. Awe… the simple things in life. 🙏🏼❤️
I first discovered Yeonmi a while back when she was interviewed by Jordan Peterson. That interview was genuinely one of the most emotionally impacting, eye opening and inspiring conversations I've ever witnessed. She is one of thee most exceptional human beings I've ever encountered. It was truly humbling. I think for me personally it was her display of empathy towards those who treated her the worst. Instead of hating them she forgave them and even tries her best to understand their circumstances and appreciate any positives they had on her life. When the priest refused to make her a Christian and told her God won't accept or forgive her for what she had done to survive that broke me emotionally. I instantly hated him. She refused to speak ill of him though and highlighted that he spends his life rescuing people like her and taking them to South Korea! He risks his own life to do it! Like I said, she is extraordinary!
In that interview she said pastor, not priest. Anyone can become a pastor or declare himself a pastor. Also, we are all flawed and human, so hating him for his error is not the answer.
I don't think people realized how circumstances made u act a certain way. When I went to India back in the 90s, India is poor today but back then they were dirt poor. I watched young kids, aged 8-9 working. They didn't go to school and they had to start working. When I first saw it, my mind automatically thought what horrible parents he has. But when u discover the reality of what's going on u soon realize that this is what needs to happen. If he doesn't work the family won't have enough money to buy food. His parents probably already worked 2-3 jobs already. That is just how the way it is. What we see from our eyes vs what the locals see from their eyes are different. Oftentimes I hear American kids complaining how hard their lives are, in my mind I just think its a bunch of BS. Its all nothing but trivial whinging.
This absolutely infuriates me. What an incredible story, and what PERFECT perspective to actually speak to oppression and the dangers of government. God bless her.
Yeonmi Park is very intelligent! She understands what many do not and isn’t afraid to speak about it. Kudos Yeonmi! You are a prize and wish there were more like you in the US! ❤She needs to be in congress!

I love this lady! She is a breath of fresh air. Such an inspiration. But now I feel bad for all the people still in NK that have no clue what freedom is like. What it is to have “choices”
If you haven't read Yeonmi's first book run the bookstore and get it. You'll get a first-hand experience of what daily life in North Korea is like. No country treats their people as bad as the Kim dynasty. Yeonmi is such a remarkable person. I'm happy that she is here to share her story.
More Americans need to hear her story. We have problems in the US but nowhere near what she has had to endure and what millions endure. She's right, we have it good and just make up things to complain about.
I live in Laos and like China and North Korea it is still ruled by a socialist regime that does not want to admit that socialism is a terrible system and a failure. Americans have no idea how good they have it.

@@hennagaijin7856 Wow… out of all the responses I’ve received on TH-cam, this one made me a little emotional. I never quite looked at it in that way, but you are 100% correct. Ironically, I have a brother-in-law who escaped from Cambodia, on a boat, with the clothes on their back, and a picture of his deceased brother (murdered by Pol Pot) in his pocket. If he had been caught with that picture, they would’ve killed him on the spot. When visiting his parents home here in the USA 🇺🇸, their family pictures only consisted of what look like mugshots, that’s all they had left from Cambodia.🥹 BTW, he is now a doctor. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you for your comment. 🥰
I am amazed they can get any current college students to listen to her. She is soooo right that we need to create problems to have problems to “help” people feel oppressed
I had leftism until Jesus cured me = I don't see a way for the left to change in the West until either the idea's that they push destroy everything or they truly find God or both 😇
I think the problem is she came from North Korea and then, it would seem, got a better life in the USA and went to a liberal university where people complain about hardships when they don't know what real hardship is. So she has the viewpoint that people should be grateful for what they have. But I'm sure there are plenty of people in the US and other countries who are working terrible jobs 60 hours a week for the privilege of having an overpriced roof over their head and maybe can put food on the table. Besides not worrying about dying, I don't think those people are living some great life that people are fantasizing about. The world probably does need a socialist revolution, but unfortunately it will probably just end up like all previous attempts, which are facist dictatorships under the guise of socialism.
Nothing speaks louder than simple honest truth. No system is perfect and I've been fortunate to travel and live in other countries and to me, I'll take the USA over any other place.
Anyone's lived in a socialist/communist country knows that's a NO NO. That's why such immigrants would risk their lives...even their own families to get to America...land of freedom! So glad my parents got us out of VN decades ago.

This is why I really love that we have immigrants that come here. They know firsthand what tyranny looks like and will be vital in shaping the freedom of this great nation. Thank you Yeonmi!

Americans doesn't even have a much of an idea of what it really means to be oppressed compared to people who's living in a country of communism ruled by a tyrant on top of a socialist environment. That's why when clueless journalists comes in to the third world countries trying to get involved in the politics and other sensitive issues they are always being brought down by the locals for not knowing what they're even talking about just to get some clout out of some situations. Not all the truths are brought to light by the international news. Information is always arranged to support the narrative of those authorities and organizations wealthy enough to monopolize such means of communication.
More power to her.....for speaking out for her kin...USA is blessed that no matter what is really going on inside, its perceived image attracts those with a dream & hope and they have had some excellent finds...

Many North Korean defectors have difficulty adapting and finding employment in South Korea due to issues such as lack of confidence and qualifications. Most of the defectors I have encountered tend to pretend they know things they don't and are hesitant to ask questions. This attitude can make it challenging for them to integrate into South Korea's competitive and fast-paced society. I hope they can adapt well in South Korea, but the problems can only be solved if we work together to address them.
Thank you everyone for your kind support ❤

Yeonmi Park is such a wonderful person. I am so glad she's over America. And I wish the best for all the innocence who live over in in North Korea.
All Americans need to listen to her message!!!!
What a wonderful woman👏👏👏
I love this woman so much 🤣 to us a refrigerator we take for granted but it's a miracle of creation to her. God bless that Woman
A running toilet is privilege.
Haha yes, I had neither growing up.
Forever grateful to have not been TOO spoiled growing up.
Agreed! I grew up poor, but now I’m grateful to be able to buy a new refrigerator when it breaks down and to be able to afford the electricity to run it. Awe… the simple things in life. 🙏🏼❤️
Every time I hear this wonderful human speak I am sobered from all the nonsense that’s fed to us. You’re a genuine inspiration 🫂
You said what exactly I'm trying to say. Thanks.
@@secrets.295 But the Prisest is devil worshiper fr
I believe she said that pastor later on went to jail for life.
I also found that interview so impactful.
This absolutely infuriates me. What an incredible story, and what PERFECT perspective to actually speak to oppression and the dangers of government. God bless her.
Brandon - think about that and what he does.
This woman epitomises courage She deserves more recognition. I am a huge admirer. A heroine of our times
Thank you Young America's Foundation for sharing this video with us 💖
I'm happy she's here a nice addition for this country.
Yeonmi Park is very intelligent! She understands what many do not and isn’t afraid to speak about it. Kudos Yeonmi! You are a prize and wish there were more like you in the US!
❤She needs to be in congress!
She is beautiful, her English is flawless, and what COURAGE. My prayers are with her, and all the forgotten ones on this cruel earth. Come Lord Jesus🙏
I had leftism until Jesus cured me = I don't see a way for the left to change in the West until either the idea's that they push destroy everything or they truly find God or both 😇
"do not join the united nations"
i like this woman.
Lord protect Yeonmi Park and we all should too.
I pray that she will have peace and happiness in her life and her family.
Also those ones trapped in China
This is what America fought for. Freedom. Freedom for people like Yeonmi and everyone who get to be born in America.
I love this lady! She is a breath of fresh air. Such an inspiration. But now I feel bad for all the people still in NK that have no clue what freedom is like. What it is to have “choices”
She , as an immigrant, makes me Proud to be an American ❗
Blessings to all Patriots ❗🙏🇺🇸💪
Everytime I listen to her speak, it makes me want to cry. What a blessing that this young lady came to our country.
I was listening to her latest audiobook last night until like 6:30 am. I never got tired
Her humble personality again still always shet my tears....seeing this women.
The fact that she is more educated than the majority of younger westerners speaks volumes about just how far gone we are.
My god. This is a very sobering speech. I hope Yeomi finds the peace she was robbed of. Excellent content! Winning!
What an amazing young woman. What a brave young woman. I pray that all good things come your way. Bless you, sweet girl.
Thank you for joining our country I hope you find happiness and fulfilment here 😊
She is so brave......I agree with you regarding UN.
I live in Laos and like China and North Korea it is still ruled by a socialist regime that does not want to admit that socialism is a terrible system and a failure. Americans have no idea how good they have it.
The Americans that were born here don’t know how good they have it. I’m living very well over here. I joined the military to preserve that.
Listen to this woman!
Glad you're here pretty lady, wish you the best.👍
Damn… I’m 58 😳 But seriously, I really pray that our young people will hear her message and understand how much they have to be grateful for and to stop taking so many things for granite. ❤️
@@hennagaijin7856 Thank you and thank your father for his service, it’s been a pleasure. 💪🏼🇺🇸🥰
Protect this woman at all costs!!!
I’m so glad people were being respectful to this young lady. I wish everyone could hear her speak.
God bless this woman 🙏
May God bless her and protect her, let her voice out there until the public hear the truth!
Everytime I feel like life is hard I watch videos about life in North Korea. God bless them seriously
God bless this woman.
Nothing speaks louder than simple honest truth. No system is perfect and I've been fortunate to travel and live in other countries and to me, I'll take the USA over any other place.
I love this woman!! She is amazing and everyone needs to know her story. Maybe Americans can be more grateful?
God bless this woman! 4:40 hit big and I hope all listen.
LOVE HER!!! SO SWEET!!!
❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Wow this young woman is amazing and has a message that desperately needs to be heard.
Wow. I mean, she is very abrupt and frank about it. This is what people need to hear.
Stunningly beautiful, intellectually brilliant, and fiercely courageous. What an incredible woman. God bless you!
Anyone's lived in a socialist/communist country knows that's a NO NO.
That's why such immigrants would risk their lives...even their own families to get to America...land of freedom!
So glad my parents got us out of VN decades ago.
Glad you are here too. My moms side of the family is Native & European. My dads family is European & Hispanic, my ancestors all came here dreaming of a life in the US full of liberty & choice and I am one of the results of their labor in our fine nation. I have to remind myself to NOT take for granted all the wonderful things & people we have here. All the beautiful traditions we share, food we share, lives we share. Maybe we will be lucky enough that our kiddos cross paths some day, fall in love & we get to enjoy our grand babies together 😊 and continue this countries great legacy of out of many cultures comes one human, an American. 😉☺️❤
I can only dream ❤.
This woman is totally true in her words because she has actually LIVED everything she speaks of, not the lies and total BS that the morons and fake media vomit to our once GREAT country!!!!
I've watched her for years now and she's totally amazing
I love her ! Such a strong beautiful soul !
It's so amazing how smart this woman and how sensible actually her answers are. I get to appreciate where I was born, where I brought up, where I am now and what I got so far in my life. For everything that she says, a lot of people should be thankful as well for what they got and where they are.
This woman is an American treasure ....as all who love freedom.
This is why I really love that we have immigrants that come here. They know firsthand what tyranny looks like and will be vital in shaping the freedom of this great nation. Thank you Yeonmi!
Rachel at 6:18 asked very important questions, and Yeonmi answers should scare the heck out of people. "Evil flourishes, when good men do NOTHING." These are REAL people who are suffering, and dying. God bless Yeonmi, and those who are suffering.
Bro..... Her story is amazing. Happy that she is so outspoken
What precious, dear soul she is. May she continue to spread the truth. God Bless and keep her.
I love this woman. She's been through so much and she is living proof that the left is hurting us. She's kind and sweet. Nobody better protest her
Wow I am amazed that we’re allowed to see this on you tube right now
Wow this little gal is amazing and so brave,so smart
What a brave young woman! She reminds us of what we have and are close to losing!
I am such a huge fan of Yeonmi Park as a person and as an intellectual.
People need to hear and heed her words. She’s a real one on a level that even few other real ones can relate to.
This should be seen worldwide.
Please please let her go viral. 🙏🏻
and people in this country think they have it bad or they are oppressed...
Honestly. Making me feel bad for throwing a pity party. Like yeah life is tough, but damn, I’m so blessed. I got food in the fridge, a roof over my head, a working phone, and unlimited opportunity. What a crazy world
Its funny because alot of people consider "being attacked on twitter" as oppressed
🙏🏻 God Bless and keep protecting this beautiful girl!!
God bless her for speaking facts. All Americans...no matter what their political party should listen and heed her words or we are doomed as a free nation.
This country is richer and brighter with you in it. I wish you happiness and success. You are a sweetheart Yeonmi!
Incredible woman, so smart and well spoken.
She is a hero!
I absolutely love Yeonmi. I'm so happy that her story and voice is being heard. My heart breaks for the defectors fates is China.
She is Very Brave to share her story may God Bless Her
This is what strength looks like.
It blows me away the resilience of this young woman! We are glad to have you here with us! Welcome with all of the American heart we can muster.
Thank you
God bless this women, I hope more people hear her story. So many people complain about things here and have no idea how good we have it
This video needs 5 million views today. She needs a major platform immediately. All these college kids that spew the usual capitalism is bad and socialism buzzwords need to hear her.
Protect this lady at all costs.
What a brave woman. We are blessed to have her presence on this earth.
She's so soft spoken and gentle!
Dude every time this woman is a treasure protect her at all cost.
She’s awesome & so is the lady from Venezuela. We need everyone to hear this message.
Lesson to learn to all ours politicians by this beautiful mind .
Thank you so much for sharing this. So eye opening.
READ HER LATEST BOOK!
If you are any kind of decent human being, her book will make you cry. This young lady went thru hell!
And all we have in America, are these little whiny brats that think the world owes them everything.
What an inspiration this young lady is.
My heart breaks everytime I hear her speak - she escaped such oppression to come to this country at it's worst - I hope we show her a better America
