I have had my 9mm shield now for a month or so. I have shot 875 rounds through it, and it has not had one problem with it. As this is my first handgun I'm very impressed. I will be looking at more S&W M&P line of handguns. Thank you for your video's.

Just picked up a shield 9mm this morning at Academy Sports. For my big hands, I was surprised at how comfortable it felt.
Was your sight off a bit.
Hey Hickok. This vid, M&P Shield (Chpt 2), is one of your all time best. Great gun, selection of ammo, your narrative, your confident accuracy with this little guy (you were really on), the camera work, the sunny day on your range, all of it: just great. Just an All Star video all the way around.
Hickoks accuracy is unreal. I hope to be able to shot like that in my lifetime
*shoot
Late response but doing that with the Shield 3 inch barrel is crazy I have one and after 8 yards its not easy
He's Elvis, man!
doctorwho0077 then you had yo edit your comment talking bout spellcheck 😂😂🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️

Really one of the best firearm reviews I've ever seen honestly
I already get accused of working for the gun companies sometimes. I just wear whatever hat I have on or handy at the time. :-)
The Shield has a really nice reset. The Kahr reset is fine, too, though it has a different sort of trigger and take-up until you get to the release of the striker.
I like the Shield, but I still prefer the PM9 for pocket carry, as it's a bit smaller yet easy to shoot.
I love how the birds haven't stopped chirping the entire time he's shooting😂
I can only guess that the birds are used to it going on everyday😎
He's shooting these can's, he hate's these can's!

MexiCANS,jamaiCANS,portoriCANS,afriCANS of course i thought everyones loves shooting their cans
I've been shooting for about 8 months. I'm enjoying it so much! Learned a lot from your videos. I've bought a shield and a CZ75 BD and love shooting them at the range. Thanks for the good videos.
Two excellent choices, not enough people know how great the CZ's are. The word is starting to spread though. Enjoy your purchases.
I love the opening with the trash can lid shield while shooting the Shield.
Yes, I have them on this one now. Wow, they look like something out of "Predator" when you open the package, but they fit like a dream, even covering that lower part of the rear grip that is so hard to cover.
How long do the Talon grips last for?
Hi, I always come to you first for your comments on firearms I'm considering.
I bought a Shield 9mm in June. I've fired every type of ammo through it (except lead hand loads) without failure. The trigger IS great.
I've only owned and shot revolvers, but I felt right at home with this right from the start.
Thank you again for your great instruction.
Excellent video as always. I have the M&P Shield also and I have found it to be a fun gun to shoot and very reliable using several brands of ammo. After several hundred rounds fired, I have had no malfunctions.
I have been using a Shield 9mm for deep concealed carry purposes for about 5 months now and i really do love the pistol so far. I have the no thumb safety model myself which was one of the requirments i had when buying the gun. I do not care for the stock M&P triggers at all myself, so i have the Apex duty trigger kit in mine and it has made a marked improvment for me personall. One thing i will point out is that I personally carry the flush mount magazine in the gun and the extended mag as my reload. This is because with my hand size and grip style, the plate on the bottom of the factory extended mag rubs the palm of my hand and when doing tactical reloads the magazine doesnt always drop free on its own. I have never had any issues with the flush mags not dropping free, so i carry that in the gun and then in the event i need to use it and reload under stress, I know the mag will always drop free allowing me to slam the next mag home and get back into battery as quickly as possible. Other than that slight hiccup, the pistol has performed flawless. Currently have ~700 rounds through mine, and my preferred carry load is a 124 +P Gold Dot load.
Was set on the Springfield XDs 4.0 9mm until I saw ch.1 and ch.2 today. Went into the store and did the paperwork on a 9mm Shield today. Thanks very much on the informative reviews as usual.
Excellent Review as always. I purchased a SW Plus recently. It's a newer version with one 10 rd. & one 13 rd. magazine. I haven't had any issues with the Plus. The shorter 3.1 in. barrel one has to grip the Plus a littler firmer. They are fun to operate. A very nice Trigger.

I wish Hollywood would watch your videos more often, Mr Hickock. They would see how gun owners are very good people. Thank you for your videos!
I was on the fence about buying a Shield, but thanks to Pt 2 of your review, I'm sold. Called the local shop and got the last one in stock. Thank you sir.
Your videos are pretty much the best on youtube. This particular vid (and Part 1) helped me decide to buy the Shield 9mm - and I also bought one without the safety too! THANKS
Thank You for the great insight on this gun. I just bought one today and am looking forward to picking it up in 10 days!!👍👍👍
Well just due to the videos alone about this gun, I am pretty much sold on this model. Love all the review info, especially things like the trigger break, and the comparisons to several other models in the first video, and my son in law owns one... So there you go... Thank you for your videos sir! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Glad to see you use the speed loader Hickok, on the first video on the Shield I thought you must have vice grips for fingers as getting the last couple of rounds in the mag can be pretty stiff!
Conceal carry for over 40 years and I can say the Shield is my first hand gun that I carry Every day and I trust it, less than 1 inch wide, like carrying a wallet, forget that it's there, no discomfort.
Better to have a 9mm on you than a 44 magnum back home in your safe.
I can honestly say my day is complete now. Woke up to pot of coffee some breakfast and another awsome Hickock Video ........LIFE IS GOOD!!
Trash can lid and a subcompact 9mm - truly, Hickok45 is a modern-day gladiator!
That's a cool little gun. I like how the birds are so use to hearing gun shots they don't even skip a beat, they are all still chirping.
Having carried this gun for more than year now I trust it completely. I've done all the apex upgrades and put some 10-8 sights on it(that was a real challenge compared to some other guns I've done). I also did a stipple job and polished the feed ramp. These little guns are very comfortable for carry but require additional practice to shoot as well as full sized guns. Very impressed with your skills using this gun...
I find it much easier to pull left with a thinner gun. They are great for carry, and this one shoots well, but a thin grip requires more focus for me to shoot well.
Thanks. picked one up this week with the Crimson lazer. can't wait to try it out.
Man, I love the M&P Shield.
My favourite part of Hickock45's videos are his joyous laughs after he has blown something up
I just love watching the rounds whiz by when the cameraman zooms in on the gong
I'm a sucker for physical comedy so I got a good laugh out of the intro scene, especially when he threw his "shield" on the ground.
luv for the M&P Shield and the Ruger American Compact! Fun to shoot!
Fantastic video, I just picked one of these Shield's up today and so far Iove it! Thanks for the reassurance on it's quality and reliability. If you consider it for a carry, I know I'll enjoy it.
This is the most respectful I have ever seen Hickok with mags.haha
Cracks me up seeing Mr.hickok going "Tactical". You go HICKOK45!
i just want to say i really enjoy these videos, mainly because i cannot do half the stuff you can with the range you got set up there very nice format and i feel like i get to know the gun as well as another cool youtuber
I saw one of those speed loaders at the store on friday and thought "if Hickok likes it it must be good". it was a great buy and fits right in the case that came with my XDm. thanks for the recommendation and saving my thumbs.
What a shot this man is👍Outstanding, regards from🇬🇧
I love my shield. The best carry gun out there in my old faithful holster.
Just bought mine today. Can't wait to get it.
Love the garbage can lid as a shield. You're the man hickock45.
LOVE, the shield. The one that was in your left hand.
Some of that is in "Return to Rapid Fire."
Love my Shield. Got the Talon Grips also. Very Nice !!
Hickok you are my god, You make the best gun videos in the world, they are fun and educational. All hail to the great Hickok45 ;--)
This vid convinced me to pick up an M&P 9 Shield. Thanks! Great gun.
MIne has the Trijicon Tritium night sights, and the trigger has been polished as well.
I love my shield it's freakin awesome !!!
I already have the Talon Rubberized grips on mine and waiting on a Desantis IWB holster.
Awesome video! The shield is out in 40 now! Cant wait to pick one up! Keep the videos coming! Mr hickok!
That's interesting. I can see not liking the capacity or the feel of a gun this thin, or maybe just having a beef with S&W, but the trigger is one of the best features for ME. Like almost everybody, gunshops can have their own agendas, too. Generally, they are going to like whatever they have the most of to sell and things they can stock easily. Then there's the profit factor - which guns do they have the best margins on. Not to be negative, but it is just part of the reality of retail.
god damn, your accuracy is always astonishing.
take a look at the Sr9 video or golck 19..... even more accurate in those videos
Great video I love your content not to many put out raw videos and provide such good content you should be proud all around fun to watch. Family friendly
Hicock you are the MAN!!!! And a GREAT SHOOTER!
Just picked one up today incredible CC firearm
Mr. Hickok45 you are an amazing shooter with a handgun. Keep up the great videos. "Go for the Gong!"
Shield9 is a great pistol. I love my no external safety model more than my Glock 43 and I'm a big Glock fan. The .40 Shield is not as a great a shooter in my opinion and doesn't group nearly as well as the 9. I shoot mostly JHP from my Shield as it is my daily auxiliary/backup pistol so train with what I carry. HST 124gr is a very accurate load, as are the Hornady 124 TAP and XTP loads. I also handload 124 XTP and Speer 124 GDHP to "+P" velocities and they are accurate loads and very manageable. I've done some test firing with 115 and 147 weights and it functioned fine with all, but 124 offered the best grouping and POI for my personal wants/needs. In my larger 9's though, Glock 17/19, M&P9 VTAC, M9 etc I love the 147 loads, especially when running a can.
Joe Doole thanks for sharing your experience helps me decide on better gram ammo to use for rang and accuracy.
I held the M&P Shield at the gun shop last week and ohhh man do I want one now!!
I just got my shield a week ago and absolutely love it! A lot of people are
Thanks Hickok, nice pistol. You know we all shout "high" or "low" when you are sizing up a target! We try to help! Nice camera John. Thanks.
awesome review hickok i got the 9 would prefered the 40 but not out where i live yet good to see you speak of how awesome the gun is without having to mention the block i mean glock in every other sentence
"Captn Hickok America" complete with spray shield..LOL Funny as always Hickok!
I've been on a waiting list at 3 different places for many weeks. Just got my Shield (9mm) today and am looking forward to shooting it tomorrow. I really like the feel of it so far.
Really can't wait to get down to the office and turn in my concealed carry class papers to get my license. Then I'm going to get this gun. Was really weary as to which gun I would pick before this gun came out. The PF9 was in the running, but when it comes to the reliability of an M&P, it wins hands down. Thanks for the great videos.
hahaha that trash can lid is realy funny ! thx again for a great video !
love this guys videos!
Thanks. I try to practice what I preach about the imaginary killer "laser" I pretend is covering wherever the barrel is pointed, action open or not.
I shot the pm9 and the shield at the range two days ago. For ME, it was no contest. The shield felt great. Great trigger, very manageable recoil. Great.
Love my shield, i did a few upgrades though. Apex duty/carry trigger kit, tritium/fiber optic day/night sights, hyve +2 base plates on my 8 round mags, hyve aluminum mag release, talon grip tape and a CT laserguard. Lil thing is quite fun and accurate
All these guns this thin are a bit of a challenge for me to shoot really well. The striker-fired trigger does help, though. Up close and personal, they are fine. I just can't reach out with them as well as I can with the fatter polymer guns or 1911s.
The Hogue Beavertail Grip Sleeve adds just enough thickness to the Shield to fill out the hand. Made out of rubber, it's fairly grippy and seems to dampen the recoil some as well.
Look how much the camera is moving when it zooms in and look how steady Hickok is, that's a good steady grip! I'm pretty sure the Shield will be my first sub compact pistol purchase.
Good Morning Mr. Hickok,
Thank You once again for a very informative video regarding the new "Shield" from S&W. I must state that you are one heck of a great shot to hit that gong from the distance you were shooting from. Also I think your commentary on the firearms makes your videos more interesting. Please keep up the GREAT work Sir. I always look forward to your next video.
A Loyal Fan,
Marshal Davis
I think the Trash Can Lid is a reference to "The Avengers...." and Captain America... :)
We love you Hickok45. Keep it going.
I Love my S&W M&P Shield 9. Great Video of the 9.
I found the Shield in .40 and I love it!
I like it. Cool shield too. Thanks for sharing.
love my 9mm shield!
OMG! I don't know how I missed that video. That was great!
Folks, if you haven't seen it, look it up. Well worth it.
my friend has it in 40 and absolutely loves it.
0:18 Good shot Hickok... 2 targets 1 bullet LOL
My duty firearm is a Smith and I do have a S&W MP. I'm like you, I like the Shield. It does look like the compact to carry but in a 40. Thanks for the video and like you say, "life is good". Take care....
You can buy one of the 9mm SHIELDS for 330 bucks now , they have gone way down in price, very easy to carry and very reliable ive shot over 800 rounds in mine whithout a jam...or ftf
Fred Dobbs I got mine today for $299.99 and got a $75 mail in rebate so it'll be $224.99... Talk about a great deal!
Got one for $225 with 2 additional mags (4 total) today, these guns are worth twice that :D
You're right they are awake like that much I wonder why they're selling them so cheap they must be coming out what a new gun and want to blow these off
I got mine for 480$ I wish I would’ve gotten for that price.
Carlos Vega Yea thats a lot I paid about 340 for mibe which wasnt great since it was used
I love the smell of Hickok45 Videos in the mornin.
Seems like S&W has a winner with that one. Thanks for the video.
The 2 liter in the sun was perfect made a nice little rainbow haha
John is an excellent cameraman, always seems to know exactly where to place it.
Great shooting and great video. 2:55 the hollowpoints did a number on the 2 liters! Usually see a hole thru them and a fountain, but they exploded with the hollow points. Shield looks a pretty solid carry choice.
Looks like a great carry gun.. Thin is in, Good for IWB., Great video, kudos John for his camera work.
Man Hickok... you sure can shoot... remind me never to piss you off!
Hickok I love your videos. I have picked up 5 handguns in the last 4 months and mostly due to watching your videos. I just picked up a Shield .40 and know already I'm going to love it. We have very similar taste, but one area we differ is who we pull for in college football. I'll be pulling for my Gamecocks to beat your Vols this weekend!
Great video...got my shield in .40 couldn't be happier...
I like how the JHP's make the 2 liter absolutely explode where as the FMJ's tend to make them spin around since it passes straight through. Great video, I'd love to see the 40 cal version in action. I would assume it would be very snappy in a little pistol like that.
Never get tired of watching Hickok shoot, always learn something new, and always entertaining 👍
Another great Video Thank You Sir!
Great video and shooting as always hickok45! Just subscribed. I just got my shield 9mm today, I can't wait to shoot it................
Very impressed on how you turned the gun around after shooting the cowboy at 15:25....
Nice catch of the last bullet in slow motion traveling towards the two liter!
I've put the Talon grips on my Shield. He's done a really good job with them.
love the ammo box.
