    I'll say it when someone deserves it. Great job. Concise. I like how you focused on the water issue and brought that to my attention. Something I would not have caught before I bought the device. Might be a deal breaker for me as well. They should have known better. I know my Instapot has a plastic cup for the condensation.

  • @cottonfuzzable
    @cottonfuzzable หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    The moisture is meant to collect there. It's not a design flaw but designed to capture the condensation. I usually have a clean cloth or paper towel ready to clean up the condensation.

      Yes, the Instant Rice and Grain cooker has the same setup. I use kitchen paper to soak it up too. I think the plastic condensation collectors some cookers have is a better idea.

    Hi,
    Nice review.
    I bought the ricecooker and tried it for the first time. Put in 2 cups of white Jasmine rice and 3 cups of water. In the time table I saw that it automatically takes 50 minutes until ready and after 40 minutes it should be count down for 10 minutes. How does the device know how long it needs to cook? Do you know that?

    • @ReviewsOnAnything
      @ReviewsOnAnything  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i havent looked into it deeply, but my guess is that it does a simple preset timer+wattage depending on the program you select.
      I dont think there is any thermometer or moisture meter or anything inthere and it just does a standard routine

    Greetings this Tues March 28th, 2023...:) Thank you for the video ! Would you tell me how much time is needed for wild rice...does one simply press the 'Grains' button...Is one able to put in desired time for steaming salmon..or simply pressing steam button & checking...then having to click steam again if more time is needed?

    • @pl7868
      @pl7868 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wild rice is whole grain so try the setting for whole grain rice and i would never steam salmon so can't help you there sorry

    Thanks for the review. That water spilling is a deal breaker for me as I want a mini-rice cooker on my work table where there's paper.

    • @ReviewsOnAnything
      @ReviewsOnAnything  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah i dont get it, its such an obvious design flaw and there really is no way around it happening, cause whatever liquid youll head up in there is gonna cause steam.

      That's a shame if you found a proper place to put a rice cooker. This rice cooker actually cooks rice really good compared to a lot of other ones that you spend a lot of money. What do you want for a 100 bucks? I'm not sure. But I've been through many rice cookers. And this one by far is up there.

    • @francesco0508
      @francesco0508 ปีที่แล้ว

      I own this rice cooker, and this guy is over exaggerating. I've never had to clean the burners off dry them off. I don't understand why people are dramatic. And what they want for a $100. This is an excellent steam. Cooker, I've owned plenty. And this one actually cooks rice Bang on.
      Big deal wipe the fucking rubber when you open it. It's not a big deal, all race cookers have flaws. At least this one cooks your fucking rice properly. Again. For a 100 bucks, what exactly are you looking for? You're worst than a woman. 😂😂😂😂

      Thank you for the informative video! I have had this grain cooker for at least a year. I have cooked brown rice, white basmati rice, black/ purple rice , freekeh, barley etc. I have been very pleased with this product . It is so light, easy to manage and cooks the grains very nicely. I have not had any condensation leak out into the counter. It is by no means fast but a lot easier to manage than my pressure cooker. I also appreciate that I can open it during the cooking process if I want to add anything to the grains (while the continue to cook). Plus it’s compact, very light and easy to store. ❤

    does the ricecooker stop cooking and switch to warming when the rice is done? If so, how does it know the difference between say 1 cup of rice and 5 cups, assuming the cook time is different between the two

    • @ReviewsOnAnything
      @ReviewsOnAnything  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it does depend on you to put the correct amount of water per amount of rice in
      then it just goes through a general cooking cycle before it switches to warming.
      So if you over-water, then you are gonna get wet/sticky rice, if you under-water then its gonna be dry, depends on your preference how you do it of course

    Hi, thank you for this great video! We ended up buying one 😊 Do you know what the little plastic plug on the inside of the lid is for? 🙈 So, after washing the bowl in the dishwasher, i saw online that it says not to do that... The bowl luckily still seems ok, but I will hand wash it in future. I thought maybe some parts of the inside of the lid would be detachable to allow washing, but it looks like it just needs to be wiped on the inside of the lid after using. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @ReviewsOnAnything
      @ReviewsOnAnything  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the little plug on the inside is for the steam-opening, i guess its removable for washing indeed.
      The bowl itself can technically go in the dishwasher i suppose, but a dishwash cycle is pretty aggressive so itll destroy the anti-stick coating very fast. Handwash is not that harsh, so better use that

    I may have missed you says this but I’m wondering how was the rice? Did it come out perfect?

    • @ReviewsOnAnything
      @ReviewsOnAnything  ปีที่แล้ว

      the rice comes out dry or wet depending on how much water you put it, depending on your preference as well as on what kinda rice you use.
      if you stick to the indication lines it comes out excellent :)

    My cheap rice cooker is 700W but this is only 600W. Also the cooking time seems very long, my old one took 15-20 mins but this takes 30 mins a bit too long for me.

      The Instant Rice and Grain takes forever too. I think both brands perhaps come from the same factory.

    So those lights that go up and down are normal. I dont see a countdown am I doing it right?

    • @ReviewsOnAnything
      @ReviewsOnAnything  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      yes the lights going up and down means the program is in operation. The countdown timer is only for the last 10min of the program.
      In general this thing is not very fast. Cooking a cup and a half of regular white rice takes well over 30min, so that gives you an idea

    • @papapiers1588
      @papapiers1588 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great point. There is only a count down at the end. Final 10mins . It’s a nuisance.

    Thank you. Nice review. I'm always angry when I see things that make clean up a mess. I'm a disabled senior so clean up is difficult to start with, without adding in a design flaw! Ugh!
