    Please note guys, when looking at the Eve Spectrum monitor, the company is plagued by lots of shipping (for both matte & glossy) and productions issues (for the glossy monitor), a good majority of people have had to wait for months for their product. Please have a look at their discussion forum well and then decide :)

      All true. I was lucky enough to get the 4k Eve, and the picture quality is off the charts. It's plagued with slow "startup" though, and if you are playing games with VRR (hooked to PS5 for example) you will often get 8-10 second screen black-outs as the monitor switches to match the source. Bad company, great hardware, brutal firmware.

    Getting the ASUS ROG Swift PG42UQ. I have recently upgraded my hardware and after much contemplation decided that 4K (not 1440p, as stated on the screen) OLED is the way to go. Hope those burn-ins don`t get me. 🤞 But I have to admit that there are so many great choices out there today, it`s hard to decide.

      With the Rog Swift PG42UQ The problem with burn-ins is history. This is the only monitor that can promise you to stand above all other OLED panels out there, ASUS to me, always delivered. I ordered this monitor as well today, but i'm worried that it's not gonne beat my main monitor. ASUS ROG Swift PG35VQ. This is to me, a very special 21:9 monitor. I was also thinking about ordering a 4K monitor but then opt for Alienware 34 Q Led and the reason was, 1, I needed high refresh rate and at the moment 4K monitors don't come with high hz, also not a lot of games especially multiplayer games support 4K plus high hz, 3rd, since i will be playing games on 1440p 175 hz or less, i don't need to build as beefy system as compared to playing games on 4K high fps, although i can afford one but high fps is also important for me and at the moment there arent such monitors, if there is let me know!

    My display is an Alienware AW3821DW. It's just about 1 year old. And I really like its size and 2100R curve. To drive it I'm using an RTX 3080 Ti (an EVGA Hydrocopper). And while I understand the benefits of higher refresh rates (this is limited to 144Hz but I lower that to 120Hz so I can keep the 4:4:4 Chroma-subsabling enabled) I'm happy with the framerates I get. Maybe in another 3-5 years when they have OLEDs that don't burn in and all run at 240Hz plus (and graphics cards can drive them that fast), then I'll consider an upgrade.

    Flat vs Curved, Gloss vs Matte, Widescreen vs Ultrawide, OLED vs IPS/LED. I choose the formers!
    Still loving my 42" C2, OLED and the HDR that comes with it has been a game changer for me. I thought 42" would be too big but it's perfection, I can still run any custom Ultrawide resolutions anytime. I used to heavily use ReShade to improve my IPS image at a performance cost. Now it looks x10 better without a hit. I really think gloss panels will become more popular, I'm a huge fan of them and so are many others. I can't see myself going back to a matte screen again or those cringe and overpriced "gaming" monitors.

    • @cyberedge881
      @cyberedge881 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I share all of your preferences. Especially what you said about glossy vs matte. It has been maddening to me that nearly all gaming displays for many years have been matte. I absolute hate the look of matte screens. It takes all of the life, depth, vibrancy, contrast and three dimensional depth out of the picture. It's like looking at a two dimensional image in a magazine, but even worse.
      I'm so glad that 42 inch glossy OLED displays are now an option. I would prefer something in the 27 to 32" size range, but I would go for a 42" if those other options don't show up relatively soon.

      C2 vs PG42UQ? Thoughts?

    • @SevyTheGod
      @SevyTheGod ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NastyNate2306 asus possibly longer lifespan than C2, higher refresh rate(though not noticeably higher), brighter hdr and functions more like a conventional monitor. The C2 beats the asus in featureset; much more calibrating options + included TV functionality, also has glossy screen for more perceived contrast compared to asus matte coating, has black frame insertion at 60hz for much better motion clarity(C1 had BFI at 120hz as well but removed on newer model unfortunately). Unless the asus is proven to have a much higher lifespan with the custom heatsink, my pick is C2.

    I really think the LG 49WQ95C should have been on here. I don't know of any other 49" 32:9 "gaming" monitor that has HDMI 2.1 for all the PS5 bells and whistles, and plug-and-play Steam Deck support through the USB C. It's pretty clutch for anyone who wants a nice ultrawide that will also work nicely with their consoles and Deck(is this a good time to mention the KVM for when you need to jump into your Linux desktop?)

      That monitor has been having lots of issues. It's mainly due to the brand. Samsung has had poor quality control in recent years and LG has fell off too. Only good thing LG has left is the C1(the C2 has been having issues). Samsung lies about the spec's as well. I'd go with a different brand other than Samsung (unless it's the G7 ) and the LG(unless it's the C1).

    As I'm running an 105W RTX 3060 laptop, I've currently got a 165 hz 1080p VA monitor which works just fine for my RPG's between 80 - 85 FPS average with a bit of overclocking. I will only upgrade to a 1440p 144 hz IPS monitor which may reduce my FPS to approximately 60 - 65 FPS but improve the resolution, especially at 27“ size. 4K wouldn't be the best with my current laptop I reckon, as I would probably get about 40 - 45 FPS. 1440p is the sweet spot for me.

      IPS glow is so distracting. I prefer thin OLED by Corsair or LG. But its not available as of yet.

      What is best monitor under 1300-1400 USD around 32 inches screen size?
      Usage: , Ai modelling and machine learning models, mostly Entertainment and casual gaming in free time( I game rarely due to work) ....
      I am kind of looking for desktop monitor too where I can code and visulize models for artificial intelligence and data science and
      As I spend most time on desktop, I usually watch my Netflix and stuff here only
      I am not much into competetivie gaming as I game once a week when time permits so having clear and crips documents and better content creation and consumption is the choice
      I want my documents and reseatch papers and reading experience also to be great

    Hi! Love your videos and energy. One question, does it make sense to buy a Samsung Odyssey G9 in 2022? It’s going to mainly be used for editing and gaming. And the price is only 8000 SEK. Thanks for taking the time to answer.

    Currently running two 32’’ 4k. But I find I only really use a bit of both screens ( software eng by trade ). Considering going ultra wide a smaller 16:9 ontop.
    Only wish there was a 38 oled ultra wide with a 5k2k resolution, sporting high refresh and good hdr. Will probably settle for aliens wares aw3423dwf that has just been announced.
