I'm all in for ex convicts to return to society and be a contributing member. However, for someone who has been convicted for soliciting from a minor, should not have access to social media where he found his victims from the first place.

Would have preferred the use of 'predator' over 'ex-convict'. Ex-convicts in general do deserve do be given a second chance, just not one who attempted to exploit a minor, shows absolutely no shame or remorse up till now, and is trying to milk his situation for more clout. Bear in mind that a large proportion of people who watch these terrible "influencers" are actually kids. This man should not be welcomed back into the SG influencer sphere at all, but should not be carelessly lumped in with all ex-convicts.

  • @zzzz-np3up

I feel that this particular ex-convict is fortunate to have connections with friends who gave him a platform to restart again and provided him with employment opportunities. However, this cannot be said for ex-convicts who struggle to reintegrate back to society and don't have such connections.

I actually watched the whole 1hr TDK podcast to form an objective opinion. I get that he does not have many skillsets hence "returning" to this social sphere is probably the easiest but there were times when they seem like they were trivialising the whole case and even calling it his ordeal. How is it an ordeal when he was found guilty by the law? My biggest gripe is that sure he has friends in the media industry giving him a leg up but what about the victim(s)? Isn't it fair for them to be heard too? He paid for his crime by serving time and he can move on from this. Not the same can be said for the victim(s).

OKAY and if "they just happen to be 17" he should keep the f away right? Even if he initially mistakenly thought they were in his age bracket, once he found out he should take himself out of the equation?
By the time I was in Uni I already thought anyone younger were kids, you change developmentally so much in your teenage years that a small age difference is already a huge gap, I don't see how he, a grown ass man in his thirties, couldn't tell that someone was way too young for him (even if he doesn't know the exact number, the difference in mental maturity should be obvious).
And I get that he served his term and technically he was already punished appropriately for his actions, but I do not want to see this person pop up anywhere on my TL/feed. Big ick.

I just don't like the fact that he tries to say that 17 year olds are not children and he is not a pedo so it is not so bad? To me, teenagers are over sexualised and they should just be children. They look like adults but they still should be protected. There is so much to life that they don't know yet and so many things they don't know how to protect themselves from or to set boundaries. It is so easy for them to be exploited.
He served his time, fine, but his mindset still no change.

  • @beetothelee
    @beetothelee ปีที่แล้ว +13

Although I understand people can change and if we are encouraged to give other ex-convicts another chance, why are we looking at him under completely different lenses, I just can't accept how easy it's looking for him now. I know it MAY not be easy behind those cameras but him joking about prison ethics and making everything a "laughing" thing, it's easy to not want to accept him. It really comes down to one thing, this man doesn't seem like he's sorry or at least his rue does not feel authentic at all - an act for the cameras.

  • @m.a.7552

i don't think he realizes that he's subconsciously into males who look more boyish as opposed to manly, and in most cases it's minors who present themselves with that look. as an adult tho he should've known better than to continue engaging with minors once he found out about their ages. keep ur boundaries and distance. easy as that.

I personally know minors who go to dating apps for seek out 'daddies' and lying about their age, and eventually the family reported and screwed the lives of adultsout there. We may say they should've have checked their ages and the legal system, but what about the irresponsible minors? It's also very convenient that these minors are seen as Victims in the eyes of law, even if they are also at fault for lying about their age and usage of adult apps. So think about it uh.

i haven't finished watching so i don't know if this will be brought up, but it's interesting how his friends forgave him. if it was someone who wasn't famous, they wouldn't have the chance to return to social media. they wouldn't have a platform. i get if it was something minor like littering or petty theft, but this is paed*philia we're referring to. he wasn't even sorry when he got caught, he tried to deny it when the news first came out & he even got defensive saying that he "didn't know it was illegal". i don't know, what i feel is that if he's truly sorry he would've just kept a low profile once he served his sentence. someone else in the comments said he shouldn't have access to social media, which i didn't even think about but it's definitely true! btw, i used to be a fan of dee kosh. i was so disappointed when i found out. i'm not trying to be a hater, i'm not saying he should get de*th threats or anything like that, but it's just disgusting how people seem to have already forgotten what he did. the privilege of fame?

Privilege of speaking well. His guesting on TDK podcast was a winning move. So many viewers were bought over because he’s funny, able to poke fun at himself, eloquent, etc. It’s sadly the case that people are easily manipulated simply through charm. All it takes is sitting down and thinking through the facts to see if the fluff has led you to the wrong conclusion but it wouldn’t occur to most people that this is an option.

First of all, why is he suffering the most as compared to a normal non influencer human will do? Like people, cut him some slack. It’s over, he repented, just move on with life.

@America Chavez 100% agree with you molesting underage boys is definitely unforgivable! Problem is...He did not molested underaged boys, or anyone for that matter. He went to jail for attempting to offer $ to a 17 yr old for service. The guy said no, and then report to police. That's still a crime and definitely inappropriate but it's a faaaarr cry from what molesting little boys ain't it??

He wasn’t charged for molestation. He was charged for attempting to get sexual services. He admitted wrong. The rape charge also didn’t went through - it was consensual sex with some 20plus year old guy. The young boys were 17. They were on grindr with suggestive profiles wanting money in exchange of sex. Not saying he is innocent, he admitted wrong. But why no one is wondering how come 17 year olds looking for money in exchange for sex? Grooming and flirting not the same thing ? How did he groom the 17 year olds? I think this mob hate is going too far. He is wrong, he was jailed, move on. Even this youtube guy is benefiting from all these views. Shiok going viral while stepping on others? Get on get going.
