@StefaNonsense I'm a troll, so... It's kinda mean? But I'm also sick of hearing "______ should sponsor me and give me stuff, I have XX,XXX subscribers!" So it's a bit of a backhanded compliment, I guess? 🤭
@SpikeKastleman Gotcha, but nah, I'm not about that here. I'm about documenting and preserving retro pc games and culture with a bit of philosophy here and there 😉
What I like the most, is just having the GOG installer and installing a game if I'm tinkering and using an older system what I'm using offline after installing all the Windows updates. No need to install any launchers or anything other stuff.
Some time ago I realized how important this DRM-free iniciative is so I started buying games from them. One thing that I wish they implement in the future is to accept the type of currency we use in my country, that way I wouldn't need to change it to dollars and buying games will be much easier
It’s awesome that you realized that importance and that you're supporting the DRM-free initiative-it really makes a difference in preserving games. I can totally understand how having local currency options would make the experience much smoother for you and others around the world. I was in that same boat some time ago. Thanks for watching!
Totally agree, gog has a lot good to offer, which I'm not sure they are marketing well, but then again, I'm not sure how many of younger generations get concept of "owning" game for example. Only thing I would like that gog makes, is expands it's catalogue further, and improves controller support. p.s. Just to add, they had round of layoffs fairly recently, I hope they get back on their feet soon.
I wouldn't worry about it shuttering since the overall company is sustained by their Witchers and Cyberpunk 2077. I haven't yet heard any problematic rumblings, especially not since they announced their renewed focus on preservation. Anyway, thanks for watching!😃
Are older games on GOG are in better shape then in steam? I mean on steam a lot of older titles need extra patches, mods etc. to be even playable. Some of them won't even start. Is the situation better on gog?
Like I say in the video, most games will run without problems on most modern systems. Some others will need a bit of finnegling with either Compatibility Settings or check to see if there's an extra start-up interface where you can modify some settings from the "Additional Executables" selection - I forgot to mention and show this. But again, if there are issues with a game, it's likely it has been discussed on the relevant forum and a solution might be available there. Basically all the games you saw featured in this video as well as most the games I've been covering for the past 2 years are GOG versions. I haven't had any issues with GOG games not starting, that I can remember.
Hope it helped 😀 You can always make an account, create a wishlist of titles you are interested in, and get a couple when they go on sale to try for yourself. If the games are older, kinda like the things I talk about, they should be fairly affordable fairly often 😀 Thanks for watching! Oh, except for Revenant, that's one GOG title I've been having trouble getting to run 😂 I have an entire stream where I try to run it and it ends in shambles, you can find on my channel if you're interested.
0:08 - Good on you for recognizing your channel size properly. Some people forget quickly.
I don't know how to interpret this... Thanks?

I love how the only game you showcased in the launcher is Lula lol
Foreshadowing...maybe 😉 but it's a criminally undertalked about game

Youpdeed! In the very olden days, I'd have the same "feature" but via my pirated CDs 😀 Thanks for watching!

You're doing Gog's work, Stefan.
😄😄😄

@@StefaNonsense Awesome, that is good to know. Thank you very much for the video, and also for your answer :)
