    It boosted my morale and if I’m still torn inside, al least I can face the world with more confidence!
    As you always say, you do you Boo! But it is a bit sad that, we women, have to walk on eggshells when talking about plastic surgery, Botox...

    My breast augmentation was the worst decision I’ve ever made! I had silicone which burst and led to 4 reconstruction surgeries. Take two: I had them removed but during the 9 hour surgery the catheter was left in too long which resulted in an autoimmune disorder that forced my retirement from practicing law and destroyed my life. I have exhausted all medical treatments and am left with having to deal with pain management medication and avoid stress at all costs. Being a litigator was destroyed. I hope this can be a cautionary tale. I’m so sorry for everything you are going through. My prayers are with you Mel 💙🙏

    As someone who was diagnosed with an aggressive, incurable and difficult to treat blood clotting disorder in 2004 (and who has doctor!failure stories that would curl your hair - actually cost a dude his medical license), you are awesome for speaking about your health so openly. I can’t tell you how much I would have loved to hear a voice in the void when I started (and kept) clotting, no matter what we did; both legs, both lungs, the brain, and there was no one who had been there, who knew the pain and the fear and the frustration, for this scared 22-year-old who was flat out told she wouldn’t see 25 to talk to. Social media has made it easier to connect with other chronically ill and complicated medical marvels like myself, and I try hard to use those 18 confirmed clots (with a whole bunch more suspected; somebody pass me my frequent flyer toaster reward already) to help guide someone who’s in that same darkness I was, but it’s still a very personal thing, and your open honesty is just a beautiful thing to witness. I’ve no doubt it’s helped someone who needed to hear this, and it’s just confirmed for me that you truly are as stunning on the inside as you are on the out.

    I had a doctor INSIST there was an injury to my nose as a kid because it’s pretty crooked with a bump on the bridge. No, that’s just my nose. I mean sure it’s possible my parents kept something secret from the first few years of my life, but I highly doubt it. I wanted a nose job for the longest time but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve grown to love it. Besides, it functions just fine and I don’t snore, would like to keep it that way! It’s a unique nose but it’s mine. :)

    Thank you for this video. My daughter has been diagnosed with EDS & RA. I had my augmentation in 2012, have the gummy bears and he went through the arm pits. I also had a lift because as a teenager I would always try to push my boobs up. They were tear drops, so I just didn’t like the way I look. When my daughter was diagnosed last year with EDS they told her I bet your mom has this. I’m 18 knee surgeries in and that doesn’t include rotator cuff, elbow and other things. So makes me wonder.

    I have EDS and I have been really curious about this subject, but as you say, there's not much out there other than the general warning that we don't heal easily. I'm terrified of needing surgery because I struggled with just lobe piercings and I'm one of those people who don't respond normally to injections at the dentist because my tissues absord the stuff in a weird way. And of course pregnancy put stretch marks in all sorts of weird places, lol. Thank you SO MUCH for this video!

My scars are generally impressive...as in stretchy and maybe a little slower to heal. But I did heal. If you ever do need surgery, just make sure you talk to the doctor doing your surgery. Make sure everyone knows before it's scheduled. You'll also need to make sure the anesthesiologist knows because patients with EDS also aren't as easy to numb up/knock out.
      Okay I know you asked for none of this...sorry

      I have EDS and I always have trouble with the dentist and anesthesia. Anesthesiologist have told me how hard it was to keep me under because you can’t give too much where it lowers your heart rate yet the normal amount I wasn’t responding too. My dentist when I was 17 asked me if I did recreational drugs (I don’t) because his injections weren’t numbing me

      @@kristamarie02 every single surgery that I've ever had I warn them hey I come awake every surgery so whatever you're doing please make sure I can like let you know. Every single one. Whenever I was having my wisdom teeth removed I scared the crap out of the dentist and the nurse that was in the office. We all screamed. He put me back under and I guess he gave me higher extra levels and something else because I was literally stoned out of My mind for 2 days. Had no idea that I had the surgery. Kept on coming too wondering why I had a big on why I had caught in my mouth why did I taste blood what the hell is going on. My boyfriend called the doctor and was like hey how long is she going to be like this. She has amnesia like something real. They explained to him the type of medication that they gave to me basically gives you amnesia. And it should wear off within 48 hours if not call them back. Thank God it did. But every single surgery I've ever had to come alive. FYI dentist you have to tell them no buffer in the Novocaine. It flies through our tissues. When they put the buffer in the epinephrine we can't take so many injections of that cuz that will mess with our heart. We're not like normal people so if you have a dentist procedure you must explain to them hey you have to make sure you give me novocaine with a buffer or else you're going to hurt me. I can't tell you how many dentists office I have had tears fall from my face from the pain they put me through. I hate it

    Thank you for sharing Mel! You certainly will help many. I wasn’t expecting what you shared and it was very informative! I always knew I wanted breast augmentation and finally was able to in my early 30’s. I think that happened for a reason. It forced me to do years of research and know my health as good as I could. That would be my suggestion to anyone wanting any type of cosmetic surgery. I’m grateful to be almost 45 and still happy with no touch up surgery yet.

    I am 65 and had a breast augmentation in 1982 when I was 26. Over the next 30 plus years, I gained weight everywhere except my boobs! I begin to get concerned on how long they had been in..I had never had any issues, but didn't want to wake up at 80 with a 'flat. So in 2018, I had my 36 year old implants removed and replaced with new ones. Now I have perky boobies again!

    • @ALT-vz3jn
      @ALT-vz3jn ปีที่แล้ว

      Perky boobies are everything. I had a breast lift and reduction 3 years ago at age 49; had to wear a bra from age 12 on, so being able to go braless was just life-changing. Still braless and loving every minute😆, if they ever get too saggy again I’ll definitely get them re-lifted. So grateful the painful grooves on my shoulders are a thing of the past.

    Thank you so much for talking about your EDS! It took me years and a boatload of doctors to get diagnosed. I’m fourth (traceable) generation, and the first in my family to get an official diagnosis. Now, several people in the family have the diagnosis officially. I don’t have as much trouble with the skin issues personally, but my dislocations are crazy. I’ve been told that I’m not eligible for for joint surgeries because of the strain it would put on surrounding joints. It’s nice to follow your journey! And you are stunning (fillers, Botox, whatever)!!

      Thing being, when someone is expressing and has little to no movement in the forehead and/or brows then says they haven’t had any Botox generally makes people disbelieve them! Same as when someone smiles and has no lines at all either side of the eyes, this is just not the norm. Everyone of all ages has lines, there is a difference between lines and wrinkles though. It’s personal choice. If people want to have Botox or filler, that’s up to them. Nobody should have to justify themselves either. But when they’re on a public social media platform saying they’re in their 40/50/60s and they have no movement or lines and claim they have absolutely nothing, that’s not really right. But it’s also not right that people slam others for having things done to their own body! It’s their body! Their choice.

    • @PamperedWolf
      @PamperedWolf 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@Beauty-mad people have the right to question, but when they’re told the truth they sometimes choose not to believe it and tend to get quite aggressive. This always makes me wonder why they questioned in the first place if they didn’t want an honest answer. Lighting makes a huge difference to how your face looks. It has a huge part to play and can disguise and blur fine lines and wrinkles. Having said that I have Botox and I love it. It’s not for everyone, and that’s fine, but it’s definitely for me, for now anyway. X

    • @Beauty-mad
      @Beauty-mad 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@PamperedWolf Yes thats when its wrong! If you dont want to believe it when it is the truth then there is no point! Some people think they know everything though!
      Yes i know, I have tried to tell so many people that the bright lights and things like soft boxes etc are always going to blue things and make things look smoother. Which is why its good when many do reduce their lighting and/or do natural light close ups. That shows the true finish-especially if filmed on a mobile phone!
      Fair play to you! its your face and your choice. If people dont like it then its their own tough s**t lol. Its your face! I am similar to Mel, I have one side of my lip thats half the thickness of the rest, so i have had filler for years because of it. Mine was bcause of something that happened though so ive always been consious of it! Im in my 40s and thats all ive done. Im still not ready to put botox in, I probably never will! I re4ally dont like it personally. That said i know so many people who have it and the difference is fantastic! But i worry to much itll go wrong and then im screwed for life! Ive seen too many horror stories lol.
