ONE WEEK OLD BABY GORILLA IS A GIRL!

- It's a girl! Now we'll have to wait for her name. But she is doing great and so is M'Fugaji. It is wonderful to see the family. The little one is so much more alert this week. I'm trying to film what I can before the season is ending and the zoo closes (Apenheul is closed during winter). Also put in a little clip in there of Banjoko, the lovely father. And a little clip of Chama being very impatiently waiting for a treat to come her way lol. I hope you'll enjoy the video!

Lovely mama and baby sweet pea! Hopefully Apenheul will continue to post updates during the closure, and hopefully Chama is also pregnant (looking at her pronounced belly). Still hoping for Nemsi to get another chance at motherhood too.
I think there's no baby in Chama her belly. Though I would love for her to become a mum. And indeed let's hope we'll get some updates! Nemsi would be great if she became pregnant. But I think chances are small.

She had got one acre of island with lots of bushes and trees. So believe me, if she wouldn't wanna be there, she could have easily left and get her peace and quiet. Let's not make assumptions ;)!

There's a gorilla @ 2:04 that looks a lot like Tayari at the Taipei zoo. Could they be related?
A lot of the Apenheul gorillas are related. Both Gyasi and Tayari have a lot of brothers and sisters!😊
That's Chama, Tayari's half-sister.
