This is some amazing music. Their interplay, the way they bounce off of each other and play with one another, slingshots the rhythm ever-forward. Add to it their brilliant tonal painting, it's masterful!
The best sound of classical guitar. Great play with apogianto and not with the now days tiranto that makes guitar sound terrible. We miss you maestro's!!

better than Bream and williams and the Romeros put together and also the parkening Brandon duo, if Segovia had not been so hard headed he could have assisted to one of their master classes and learn something
I respect the different opinion. I also love their playing. They blend perfect...... but I consider the Williams - Bream duet as the best of all time, because, to my ear, I listen a wealth and diversity of tone color, and also a richer repertoir than the wonderful Presti-Lagoya duet. It seems to me they play the same piece all the time, if you listen the whole recording and the Williams-Bream duet can distinguish one piece from the other. Two masters at the same level as Ida Presti.
I beg to differ. The Williams-Bream duets were nothing more than a marketing exercise that failed! There is no unity in their playing and you hear two different sounds while Presti-Lagoya sound like one instrument so in tune with each other they were. "It seems to me they play the same piece all the time" Are you kidding me? No one else has had such an amazing variation in tonal colors in their playing than Presti-Lagoya! Just listen to their Handel Chacone Variations!
@@Gitanoz I agree with you, Gitanoz. Ricardo's ridiculous claim of "It seems to me they play the same piece all the time" reflects a lack of musical knowledge and appreciation. The Presti - Lagoya repertoire was quite varied in time periods and additionally they performed works composed for them by Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Joaquin Rodrigo many other composers. Also, Lagoya transcribed many of their concert pieces.
The guitar is the most difficult instrument. It's not just the physical aspect and the challenge the brain faces in moving the hands, the muscles and bones all together but in different tasks with outmost accuracy. There is more. The instrument itself is like a demanding bitch..it's not giving its beauty away, unless you are a master. You have to be able to extract the music out of the guitar. That is why we don't see often the likes of Presti, Segovia, Lagoya, Assimakopoulos and a few other exceptionally gifted people.
these two were simply divine. tone, phrasing, technique...and those cross string trills are to die for.
Esecuzioni che ci rivelano tutta la nobiltà del suono della chitarra e della musica di Scarlatti
One of the best classical duets in the world..
The greatest duo of all time!
Magistrales interpretaciones, sin palabras. Tengo aún dos discos L.P. de 33 r.p.m.
The best guitar duo all time
Absolutely yes. I don't think there will ever be any like Presti-Lagoya.
This is some amazing music. Their interplay, the way they bounce off of each other and play with one another, slingshots the rhythm ever-forward. Add to it their brilliant tonal painting, it's masterful!
Magnificent, of course. I must say I was also very impressed by the Pomponio-Martinez Zarate Duo. All great artists !
The legend of classical Guitarist . The best duets , the tone and spirits ....
Magistral Dúo de Guitarristas, los más grandes hasta hoy!
Dos Gigantes de la guitarra.
Ida y Alexandre.
👍✔🙂
Wow... they were both so ahead of their time...
The French television should have many more of these; it is a shame that nobody makes a DVD with all of them!
Thanks to the poster!
The best guitar duo of the History !
Duo Abreu.
The Abreu bros had great technique but lacked the unity that Presti-Lagoya had.
Evangelos and Lisa. Their students

How can anyone find fault with such amazing playing, tone and interpretation.
I keep seeing video titles with "Worlds Best Guitar Player" and keep expecting to see Ida.
Historical guitar duet !!!
So much passion, artistry, incredible!
En effet ça n'a pas le même effet que sur une corde !
Tone was amazing

C’est une guitariste exceptionnelle, qui parvient à faire chanter toutes les partitions.
❤❤❤
WOW .!!
Sublime! Qui joue aussi expressif aujourd'hui?…
can someone tell me the number of this sonata? I searched for "d minor" as the narrator presented, but did not find anything
it’s sonata in b minor K.173
@@rinaneziri7036it’s just that Lagoya transcribed it to d minor maybe because it better suits the guitar duo
better than Bream and williams and the Romeros put together and also the parkening Brandon duo, if Segovia had not been so hard headed he could have assisted to one of their master classes and learn something
Absolutely!
I think Segovia was afraid he would have learned something from Ida.
