Came here after the shock news of Jurgen Klopp. Please come to LFC, Xabi!
you guys calling for Alonso are FOOLS. He has almost no experience, won nothing, plus hes a real madrid fan, not Liverpool. Plus his style of play is not like Klopp, its like Pep. You guys have zero clue.
@@paulthrossell7999 you have zero clue 😂 he's not a Madrid fan. Clown comment
A Madrid fan 😂 LMAO
Ur football knowledge is zero
@@paulthrossell7999 Alonso has stated he is a Liverpool fan, and that he has continually followed them since he has left. He has already previously stated that if he had an opportunity to take the either the Munich, Madrid, or Liverpool jobs he would take the Liverpool job.
so what, he probably said he would never leave Liverpool as a player too, then left to go to Real Madrid. Hes full of it, he has won nothing and been a manager for months, if Liverpool want to be mid table then appoint him.@@Debiddo_33
Of all the fan/pundits plying their trade on TH-cam, this guy is the best. Excellent production values and proper analysis without the usual hyperbole and arrogance. Keep up the good work.
Much appreciated 🙏🏼
With FD getting picked apart I have to agree
Facts
I agree, he's very good.
When asked his favourite giant he’s played for, Xabi said: “I would say Liverpool. It was strange because I thought I’d feel at home in Madrid due to it being my country but compared to Liverpool it wasn’t. Liverpool is like my 2nd home”.
In another interview:
“Liverpool is still a big part of my life and always will be. I still feel very attached to the club, even not being there, and I still follow the club (…) I stay in contact with friends I have in Liverpool. It’s not a normal club, it’s so special and very important to me (…) I’ve never pretended to be someone I am not. I have always tried to be a normal one (…) The personality of Liverpool people is very particular. They like you to be one of them (…) I felt that from the very beginning.”
Xabi’s spoken before about wanting to return to Liverpool. Another Normal One. Klopp’s successor hopefully and I hope he wins the Bundesliga as Klopp did with BVB. Would be so poetic! 🙏🏻
yeah great, a manager with almost no experience, and won nothing. What could go wrong.

Here after the Klopp announcement 🥲
Same, same. I am devastated at the news though, busy scouting for exciting managers for the Mighty Reds as if my opinion will be taken into account.
Klopp announced he was leaving earlier today, my heart instantly said bring in Alonso to replace him. After watching this video more convinced than ever that he would be really good fit for Liverpool. Just hope he feels he is ready for the next step in his career.
If Klopp leaves, from what ive seen so far Xabi would be an incredible replacement. Would be great for the team overall but also how exciting the football is and of course having an ex Liverpool player would be great also.
When asked his favourite club he’s played for, Xabi said: “I would say Liverpool. It was strange because I thought I’d feel at home in Madrid due to it being my country but compared to Liverpool it wasn’t. Liverpool is like my 2nd home”. He’s spoken in other interviews of a special connection to the club and the city.
Liverpool fans idolise their managers like few other clubs in Europe. He’d be adored if he were to return and be successful with Liverpool 🤞🏻
Klopp is retiring end of this season. Hopefully it will be him.
As much as Klopp will be missed..it seems natural that Alonso will be the next Liverpool manager. YNWA🎉
Hopefully not 😂@@dirkwilken8664
This clip is 2 months early!!
Exactly at the time when Klopp made his decision to leave.
His ties with Liverpool run deep as well, hes not shy to say on camera how he still follows and supports them. Equally hes Spanish and playing in your home league speaking your own language in the sunshine is pretty awesome too. I never want Klopps reign to end but if he wanted a new challenge such as being a World Cup German trophy winner and to take it easy then Xabi would be amazing.
Then get Stevie in as assistant (he would step down to do it 100%) and were looking good for a while here.
I feel like your comment is to blame for Klopp announcing he's leaving today 🥲
Can't believe I said this before it all changed
Stevie’s ego is too big to be Xabi’s assistant
@somdutta7322 it might be, yeah. The pay is different too. But also we know few people have sacrificed more for the club, and tbh he doesn't look like being the #1 guy has suited him so far. Tactically not very innovative
I hope to see Busquets become a manager at one point, Busquets and Xabi Alonso are the two most intelligent dm`s in the history of football in my opinion, Busquets is the goat dm, but i have always perfered Xabi Alonso. What Xabi is doing at Bayer Leverkusen is insane and i do hope that Xabi Alonso can get Bayer Leverkusen to win the Bundesliga.
Wasn’t Roy Keane better than Busquets?
DMs do well as managers
This right here reminds me why I loved JA content.
Easy to understand while being fast paced, and not feeling like you are being bombarded with info plus it's always well digested.
Also his production value and humor is a big bonus.
Cheers mate. Forever may it continue
Really appreciate that mate x
I had been thinking the exact same as Mourinho while Xabi was in his final years at Bayern. The tutors he had throughout his career as a player are unrivalled, and not to mention he was an incredible footballer. It's hard to find many midfielders who knew how to control a football match like him
This video could be prophetic considering what has happened at Liverpool with Klopp's departure at the end of the season.
Who’s come back to this video after Klopp’s announcement that he’s leaving in the Summer? 🙋♂️
Mourinho just keeps predicting the future time and time again
That's why he's The Chosen one
like the sacking from the last few clubs he managed ? lmao
@@oblivibladexd to park the bus :)
@@oblivibladexdThe sacked one.
I was KINDA hoping that it would take longer for Xabi to become so well recognized as a great manager. My hope was that he'd follow Klopp in Liverpool, but now I don't see any way that he doesn't secure a top 5 job in the next year or two.
He’s coming to Madrid
@@fitsumgarredew9624 Yeah, that's what I assume is going to happen.
Why do all of you assume he thinks like you do? Maybe he prefers the challenge of making the team he's with a powerhouse. The lack of imagination on the part of fans and media alike is a reflection of the stagnant nature of today's football
@@fitsumgarredew9624 Not this summer. Carletto is doing an amazing job with a team full of injuries, without the best gk of the world, their best CB, Benzema left and his replacement? Joselu...and they've won all the games in UCL, and have +7 points over fcb and Atlético de Madrid in 17 games.
Ancelotti will be the coach next season, and Xabi will continue in Leverkusen. 2025? Maybe.

Holy fuck i didn't realize this video was made 2 months ago
I would love to see him join Liverpool in 3 years' time. I think he is the perfect manager to take over after Klopp and honestly, I think there will be less pressure than at Real Madrid where failure isn't tolerated and if you don't win, you fail. That is why Real Madrid are so successful, their elitist attitude, but that might not be good for such a young manager.
How many times must we teach you Livershits a lesson? First you thought Bellingham would choose you and now Xabi? We literally own you. 3-1, 1-0, and 5-2 at anfield 💀💀. Xabi is coming to Madrid. Enjoy the Europa League lmaoooo 😂
Xabi has a special connection with Liverpool and has spoken about it many times. Saw one quote when asked his favourite club he’s played for: “I would say Liverpool. It was strange because I thought I’d feel at home in Madrid due to it being my country but compared to Liverpool it wasn’t. Liverpool is like my 2nd home”. He’s already said that it is special to him and the way he speaks about LFC is very reminiscent of Klopp (even what he’s doing now is similar to Klopp’s BVB). It would be like the stars aligning.
I would LOVE him at Liverpool after Klopp ❤️❤️🥹
Damn this comment hits different now 😢💔
Another masterclass from JLA. This guy always release bangers. I'm loving it bro.
Appreciate that
I once wore a Bayern Munich jersey to pickup with my beard and brown hair and one of the old men afterwards told me I looked just like Xabi Alonso on the pitch. Greatest compliment of my life.
Proof or it didn’t happen
The fact that my mom, an African woman who has never traveled to Europe loved Alonso so much during his playing days just makes me root for him so good. My mom really cheered for this guy and now she’s doing the same since his move to Leverkusen as a coach. I hope he wins something with them.
Sounds like your mom has a crush on him.
@@MemoTea she told me she loved his play because of his composure on and off the ball
@@apegraham9819 Yes, for Alonso it's a game of inches. His strategy alternates between going deep and hard, with occasional breaks where he let's the natural energy of the game run its course. Understandable your mom is a fan.
Who's here after klopp announced he's leaving
He has a clause in his contract that if Liverpool or Real Madrid are avaiable he can leave I believe
What an insanely great video from my favorite dude! You are a legend JA! APPRECIATE THE HARD GRAAFT YOU PUTTING INTO THESE VIDEOS
Jose said that when Xabi was still a player
The editing and storytelling in your videos are sooo good now!!
Thank you! 👊🏼
Really enjoyed this, great video James! 👊🏼
At the end of the video, I didn't know when I said WOW!
The analysis, the editing, the trickling background sound and your choice of words towards the end blew my mind.
You've won a subscriber who rarely subscribes👍
I agree/hope that Bayern and Madrid will be too soon and he will end up at Liverpool to replace Klopp.
As a Liverpool fan I can't imagine Klopp leaving, but atm Xabi Alonso is the only one I'd want to replace him.
But, always time for other new and upcoming managers to make their case.
I’ve got the impression he feels more connected to Liverpool (whereas he is Basque he grew up supporting Real Sociedad, not Real Madrid). When asked his favourite of the giant club he’s played for, Xabi had said: “I would say Liverpool. It was strange because I thought I’d feel at home in Madrid due to it being my country but compared to Liverpool it wasn’t. Liverpool is like my 2nd home”.
Liverpool idolise their manager in a way unlike other European clubs. He’d be given much more patience and would be adored if the succeeds. He’s already spoken about LFC as a special club and his connection to the city. Even what he’s doing for Leverkusen now is very reminiscent of Klopp and would feel poetic if he were to win them the title (really hope so!) then succeed Klopp eventually 🙏🏻
Suprise suprise
And now yt recommends this to me after Koop announced he’ll be parting with the club with this season
Is an out there shout, but I reckon Lallana could be a decent coach
Xabi always looked intelligent and classy as a player, he had the aura of a manager (then again so did Pirlo), I hope he takes time in Leverkusen to get more experience rather than jump at a big job like some other retired footballers did.
The quality of editing and presentation is really top tier. Fair play to you Sir
Lovely stuff, Jim, but really missed you in England's recent qualifying games. Would've loved some post match live breakdowns
There was a great article on the guardian diving into the basque region and the coaches coming from that area like Arteta, Iraola and Alonso. Apparently his youth manager always saw Xabi becoming a manager so its been a long time coming.
So did his postman. Does that mean his postman’s a genius?
@@samprizeman4509 Eh, just had some interesting insights from the manager from when they were kids and went into detail about the youth setup from there and some of their early days as footballers since they were all at the same club.
@JamesLawrenceAllcott, Vicente del Bosque significantly stands out as a crucial influence on Xabi Alonso, playing a pivotal role in shaping his managerial approach than any manager mentioned in the video-an aspect often overlooked by many, just like you might have missed.
Love how you more or less called this (2 years out but still) fair play 👍
Im here after the gutting news that Jurgen is stepping down. Am i looking for something to pick me back up now? Absolutely 😂
Great video James!
Well here we are. Klopp leaving. Xabi looks the best of what is available. I think he would find some of our players very interesting for his system. I think he would love to work with Trent. Maybe a good idea for a video, how Liverpool's current players might fit into Xabi's system.
Great video right here
Great video James
Awesome educational video!!
I like the 343 formation and the WM, its a nice balance with 5 defensive and 5 offensive players.
You are ahead of time
Jose definitely didn't say that in 2010 he wasn't at Bayern at the time prob 2014 2015
Ye lmao I think he means 2020
Resubscribed, this is the type of content you're great at Jim. More tactical analysis of different managers would be good
Why did you leave? 😂
@@JamesLawrenceAllcott 🤣 I didn't wanna get blocked in case I said something in anger when our points deduction hit, calmed down abit now like mate
Anyone come back to watch this after Klopp announced his resignation? that changes things
So now he will be managing Liverpool!!🎉❤
This aged very well
Nice Ainsley cameo.
You dry or moist? Only forward
How quickly things change. No doubt little did you know how timely & prophetic this would be but much sooner than we all expected.
I know this is such an obvious statement, but Klopp was perfect for Liverpool because he can transform teams and keep them motivated to play a very intense style of football. He did it with Dortmund, and he left there with credentials, and his personality fits the culture of Liverpool and the club.
Now, what makes things different is the fact that the next manager of Liverpool will have less to do than Klopp had to when he arrived; lots has changed at Liverpool now: a new training centre, a bigger stadium and a healthy culture with leaders all over the pitch and a more youthful squad overall. Xabi Alonso would be a risk with it being so early in his career but he will certainly have better foundations than he had joining Leverkusen.
Mystic James !! Ancelotti just signed a new contract.
Just realized this dude made this Video 3 months ago 😮wow
whoa your videos its linked precisely to the day klopp announced his leaving and whos proper candidate to replace klopp 😮
Just checking in, hope the family is well Jim.
Please stay in Leverkusen. We love to have you. Not only a great manager but always super humble and nice to everyone
This Video is aging like fine wine. Here we go.
I dread the day we have to replace klopp but if I've got to pick someone I hope its alonso. A post salah Liverpool with alonso running things and players like trent, szobo and nunez could be very, very good

Thank you James what about De Zerbi ,Thiago,Marco Silva,Steven Gerrard.
smart to work your way up in management, Carrick and Gerrard doing the same. So did Pep, Jose and Fergie. Some ex players get top jobs too quickly.
It’s like you knew James 😮
here we are!
They climbed from bottom of the league to 6th and managed to reach the semi final of the EL!
That was awesome! You could have mentioned that or the so called german expert 😅
Good work though👍
Don't look for NEXT KLOPP, this will never happened. We should accept the fact that Klopp is unique and we expect the next long term manager have his own appeal and uniqueness, and of course the secret recipes for success.
Im so gutted Klopp is leaving....This video is going to get so much traction after todays announcement
Can I just say his first managerial job was for the real Madrid under 18s in which he led them to the league title in a undefeated season that's if you include youth football as an actual job great work tho keep it up
If Xabi Alonso goes to Liverpool it would be crazy. It's the only team among the top four in premier league that doesn't have a spanish manager
Makes you think why Liverpool were linked with a lot of Leverkusen players
6:20 the mourinho statement cant be from 2010. in 2010 alonso still was in madrid and pep wasnt manager of bayern, but mourinho says pep trained him in bayern so it has to be post 2014
Pep Lijnders please
Never
@@unreative6476Easily the best choice.
Off all the characters Klopp acquired, I consider charisma is the most important factor. Also, the ability to love and the approach towards the players are other important factors to consider if we want to see the success of the managers.
The Seoane managed start of the last season was totally catastrophic. That they acheived a 6th place finish was not an underacheivement
If he is smart he stays at Leverkusen for a couple of seasons. Slowly building up his reputation, hopefully winning a chip or a cup, with a solid organization, away from the spotlight and media pressure.
He will go to either real madrid or liverpool. Will depend on the timing and how long he wants to stay at Leverkusen
I guess the timeline has shifted so I hope Xabi joins liverpool this summer
Theres a new spice to this channel! Have you got a new editor?
It's all written in the stars. Xabi Alonso is coming back to Liverpool. He is coming back home, hopefully in 2026.
Xabi Alonso be perfect for liverpool he are very intelligent person. He win everything as a player and he are good good manager he speak a spanish to.
I don’t like that you overlooked how great he did in his first season. He took the team from 16th to 6th . Also you didn’t go into if his style would fit those clubs . I don’t think he goes to Madrid just because they don’t do a system manager.
Fabregas will be a GOAT manager; Wenger, Pep, Jose and Conte as mentors is nuts.
i dont care whoever comes in as our manager. i want a gegenpress mindset gameplay.
Say what you want but I think we need to keep the training staff and the boot room boys we have now, look at the team photo from 85/86 and see who is on the front row right next to Kenny, you will see Bob Paisley, so do likewise and promote Pep to manager and bring Kenny down to the bench as his assistant/mentor for his first year in charge! Bring back the consistency we had from promoting the next in line from within!
Can you analyse Hansi Flick
Always good to see Ainsley make an appearance
Alonso for England!
Ofc won’t happen he’s definitely going Madrid. But successor to klopp would be great for the premier league
12:27 How about Zidane as well?
Xabi Alonso - surely coming to Liverpool. .....this summer.
Thomas Müller can be one too!
Here recruiting next manager already.
Why can't klopp be a robot and be here forever?
you need to stop getting me pumped as a liverpool fan
I don't kniw whether xabi alonso will coach bayern but tuchel will go soon, i can see that coming
As a fan of Barcelona I want us to win the Champions League and be competitive and La Liga every year I believe Xavi has done his part, time for fresh blood a new face Xabi Alonzo could take us far in Champions League that's what I want
