Man, I’ve been watching the Mega64 Poscaat consistently for most of my life. Probably 13 years or so. I still remember downloading them to my iPod Nano and watching them in middle school.
The Mega64 Podcast is probably the show I have been watching for the longest. I think i started near 2007/2008? I don't think any other tv/radio/podcast even comes close to this show for me.
"Yeah Rocco collects a lot of power ranger toys. Rocco if you had to die doing what you love, what would be your power ranger way to go out, irl?" *Rocco contemplating his life and devotion to power rangers irl* "Idk, it all sounds kinda fucking lame to me." -Rocco 2021
ive heard rocco repeat stories about 6-7 times maybe? kinda feels like he’s just that kinda guy tho... not his fault he’s the only nerd on this gaming podcast!!!!!
33:17 They used deepfake technology in Star Wars for Carrie Fisher. I think the reason why there is such a difference between a Deepfake / Full cg made character is that the CG character probably has more flexibility in terms of VFX since it's a 3D scan of a person, rigged and textured so that the 3d Artists can do what ever they want with it while Deepfakes work on an algorithm and replace the face of an existing person by glueing images together on top of existing footage (not an expert on DeepFakes so feel free to correct me).
I'm with Garrett, I loved the whole 4 hours, done very well. Awesome character development. Great battles, and I loved seeing moments of the JLA casually chatting with each other.
been randomly jumping thru podcasts eps while i work and green screen shawn and rebel forces rocco being presented without explanation is so fucking funny
I feel like Zack Snyder's biggest problem is his wife stoking his ego while sitting on as producer. I get flashbacks to the behind-the-scenes interviews on the Watchmen DVD.
I don't know much about the imax thing, but i read that some scenes were not filmed in any way possible to be shown in a normal way and thanks to covid19 there was no way for reshoots that big.
Power Rangers is not a single movie or show, so if they'd want to actually adapt and respect the material like they did with DBZ and NGE, they'd have to choose a show or movie to adapt and they'd risk that particular source material not being well-known enough for the jokes to land. They might fear that it ends up being funny only to themselves (namely: just Rocco)
I can't believe I'm hearing Shawn say he's not comparable to Emilia Clarke as an actor. Shawn and all three of these other men are legitimately phenomenal actors who've only gotten better over time.
Why would anyone watch Howard Stern when they can just watch this show instead? Funny enough, you guys mentioned how you watch stuff “seasonally” and that’s exactly what I do with this show. I come back to it from time to time and take breaks once in a while. Whenever I come back, it’s always as much gold as it was the last time I watched. Thanks guys.
Well first you like go with the cursor on like the video symbol on like your screen and the you click left mouse and don't like let go and you kinda move the mouse so that you kinda like drag the video. No wait a minute, first you like have to open the editing software so let go of the left mouse button and well... and then... well you gotta click the left mouse button on the symbol for. I just forgot man.
To be fair, Rocco is dressed as his favorite rebel pilot, Biggs Darklighter, and we all know what Biggs was doing before he got the job. It involved pipes and the laying of them.
Rocco he filmed in Imax. Others film normal and cut out the wide ends to make the ratio proper. You can't do the opposite if you film in imax. Filming in Imax looks better than filming normal and cutting out the sides losing intentionally filmed content
I heard the aspect ratio was so the heroes would always take up most of the frame like in the comics, he felt widescreen made the heroes look like normal people instead of the bigger than life heroes that they are
Rocco talked about Derrick from Texas on a recent personal channel video (maybe it was a futureprobe) and I decided to listen to it after years of hearing you guys talk about Stern and/or Eric. I've gone down the rabbit hole of Eric listening to Eric calls and it's fuckin hilarious. I wish I could get my hands on that Eric the Midget sex doll :^)
Derrick often compares himself and where he is in life to others when they were/are around his age. I'm kinda curious why. Is it because it keeps you on your toes and motivates you?
I can only speak for myself when I say that I think it’s a simplified way of measuring your success. It’s not always the healthiest thing to compare yourself to others, because if you aren’t careful, you’ll end up letting your insecurities invade your self-image.
imo deepfakes look good because they're doing it over the cgi work to begin with. If they were working with the raw footagem I doubt the results would be as good. Instead of choosing one or the other, maybe the option is to use both?
Everybody out here laughing at the Rocco is rich and lays pipe joke while I'm here conscious of their patreon earnings alone and the amount of pusy he's actually allegedly laid pipe in.

I thought I was back in college with the Deja-vu on that story
i just heard this the other day listening to old episodes!
Rocco’s comedic timing about seeing the pizza place with the AR glasses was hilarious, had to watch that part a few times.

25:29 Naoki Urasawa's "20th Century Boys" succinctly explained in two sentences by Derrick.
Honestly Rocco's usually in such a wild get up it took me a bit to even realize what he was wearing
I know it sucked for the boys, but I miss the green screen so much. The close up cam with the special effects backgrounds just hit different.
I've watched basketball on and off with years long breaks since I was a kid but I've watched the Mega64 podcasts every week for the past 12ish years

48:30 Make no mistake, Derek. You fucking see More stuff in 4:3 than in widescreen. Nothing pretentious about giving people the most.
It's bean time
Artie on Stern was the greatest any show has ever been. It will never be topped.
How has Mega64 not done a Power Rangers in 5 minutes video yet?
Power Rangers is not a single movie or show, so if they'd want to actually adapt and respect the material like they did with DBZ and NGE, they'd have to choose a show or movie to adapt and they'd risk that particular source material not being well-known enough for the jokes to land. Wow, nice work. You're become more literate as the days go by, keep it up.
Someone write a fanfiction of Rocco being in Star Wars.
To be fair, Rocco is dressed as his favorite rebel pilot, Biggs Darklighter, and we all know what Biggs was doing before he got the job.
It involved pipes and the laying of them.
Agreed with garret... Caller on stern show now.. Mehh.. Artie days! Absolutely agree!

Good to know I'm not the only one who laughed at that line.
For the record, the actor they're thinking of is Laurence Olivier, not Anthony Hopkins
Rocco he filmed in Imax. Others film normal and cut out the wide ends to make the ratio proper. You can't do the opposite if you film in imax. Filming in Imax looks better than filming normal and cutting out the sides losing intentionally filmed content

hey, Johnny. can you please add photos of people (actors etc) that is mentioned

I don’t think Rocco understands aspect ratio limitations. He just doesn’t get IMAX.
