Fluffy Momo thanks! I was inspired by your video demoing the Max MSP patch to try to make something similar in Pure Data (another nearly identical program by the same creator). Hopefully it came out ok!
My Question is: On the TKOG webside the guitar tuning is "EADABD" But When I Play it with the chords you have shown in this video it dosen't sound like it should be! Or am I Wrong?
neutraltones exactly!! The midi note received sets the cutoff frequency for a resonant band pass filter that is being applied to the piano. Fairly simple but very cool!
neutraltones that’s a great question. I believe it is the former (frequency of note = frequency of filter) but it’s been a while since I’ve revisited the patch so I might be wrong. I’ll have to check!
Hey, this is an incredible cover... How did you get the Max/MPS? I literally have never used this program and don't where to start and this is my one of my favorite Radiohead sounds. I would love emulate this!
I’m actually using Pure Data! It’s open source and made by the same creator as Max MSP with a highly similar syntax/toolkit. You should check it out! It’s really fun once you get the hang of it, it’s a total sandbox for audio, MIDI and even some video effects.
☺️ No exact notes here! Pretty sure even he doesn’t do it the same way twice. I just sort of noodled and practiced ways that sounded good. Thom’s chord harmonics tend to naturally limit the palette of what resonates also.
Man, I know I’m late. But, your vocals just nailed it. Totally caught me off guard on first listen. Well done 👍
This is my favorite song of all time. Just beautiful
5 seconds in I was thinking, "he's going to need a strong voice to pull this off"...and then..
That was a fantastic performance, thanks 😊

SO f-ing good! Thank you.
Incredible. This music is pure art.
Amazing...

Joe Edelmann Your patch is much more sophisticated than mine.
Great job!
I've watched this at least 30 times by now.
The quality of your covers is insane.
This made me cry, so beautiful
I was hoping you covered this, absolutely beautiful
Hermoso bonito bello precioso
Beautiful cover. Have you ever heard of the song Cut a Hole by Radiohead? They played it during their king of limbs tour
Yes! It’s a cool song!
I can't wait to see their final product if/when they release it fully and can't wait to see your potential future cover 🤣

@@timmehtimmeh-by1fv no I think you’re right! At the time I didn’t notice the tuning, so I played it in standard!!
Wow ! I love this cover ! :)
Fire
the pd patch was genius
Can you explain what the patch does? Is the midi keyboard "playing" a filter on the piano?
neutraltones exactly!! The midi note received sets the cutoff frequency for a resonant band pass filter that is being applied to the piano. Fairly simple but very cool!
@@JoeEdelmann3 Does the cutoff frequency = the frequency of the note played? Or do you divide the range of frequencies evenly across the midi keyboard
neutraltones that’s a great question. I believe it is the former (frequency of note = frequency of filter) but it’s been a while since I’ve revisited the patch so I might be wrong. I’ll have to check!
@@JoeEdelmann3 Cool, thanks! Really nice job
Amazing as usual! How did you do the flugelhorns? Don't tell me you play them too???
Thanks! No, I’ve never played a real flugelhorn, at least not yet 😆. I synthesized the sound on my Prophet!
Wow

How did you work out the exact notes for Jonnys filter part. Seems awfully difficult to work it out by ear
☺️ No exact notes here! Pretty sure even he doesn’t do it the same way twice. I just sort of noodled and practiced ways that sounded good. Thom’s chord harmonics tend to naturally limit the palette of what resonates also.

Bro where are the piano sheets for this
I learned watching this! th-cam.com/video/WEf-a2-Hvf8/w-d-xo.html
Do you remember what sound you’re using on the chime sounding piano at 23 secs?
