    It's taken me 40yrs (so far) to get here and I'm just starting to enjoy the fruits of my labour. It hasn't been easy and there's still so much to learn but I feel like I have something to offer the world, even if that turns out to be how "not" to do things!
    Either way we'll learn something new, create a better version of ourselves and change the world for the better…together…

    I love how I found sea bands I tried them once for motion sickness it was only 1 hour but I’ll be trying it on a 9hr ride, I like how this will help with both things because I don’t really have much anxiety I just have anxiety about motion sickness.

    • @ABetterPace
      @ABetterPace  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Motion sickness is really horrible so totally understandable you have some anxiety about such a long trip! I would recommend putting the bands on an hour before you leave, this will allow your body to adjust to the pressure point and make sure you are fully prepped for the journey 👍

      They work for me for the most part, of course it helped always if I didn’t have them I’d feel way worse especially going through Yellowstone park it had winds and turns for almost 20 or so miles. With a few turns and straight roads I was fine and even when I didn’t feel well it went away and didn’t get worse. And well it was pretty going through there atleast I saw some wild animals. For the most part I didn’t feel scared about the car ride with the bands on and I would have probably gotten sick without them of course I also had ginger gum to help that deserves credit too.

    I have posteral orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and these sea bands really do help with the nausea symptoms. I find myself wearing them every day. I’m wondering if they will remain effective overtime, whilst wearing them so often.

    • @ABetterPace
      @ABetterPace  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sean, Thanks for your question, sorry to hear about your condition. I can’t see a problem with wearing them everyday & they should remain effective too. Maybe taking a couple of days break every once in while would be a good idea but see how you feel & go from there…😁

  •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hello! I've been taking flying lessons for a while and still feel a little sick, actually i'm really anxious and the biggest problem for me is not the nausea, but the headache that it comes with... I'm just willing to know if you've ever met someone who used those bands to reduce motion sickness during flights and if they had positive results after that. Thanks!

    • @ABetterPace
      @ABetterPace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lucas, flying lessons sound amazing! I’ve not met anyone who has used this technique for that specific reason before but the theory is sound so I’m confident they’d work in the same way.
      Another thing you can do for the headache is to massage the space between your thumb & forefinger, it might be a bit sore but apply as much pressure as you can for at least a minute on both sides & that should give you some relief!
      I’m planning on doing some shorts on acupressure points for different conditions in the coming weeks so keep your eyes open for them, thanks for watching…😁

    i wonder if this could work with a watch on just one wrist

    • @ABetterPace
      @ABetterPace  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hugo, thanks for watching the video! I’m a little unsure about your question, are you asking about wearing one band and a watch on the other side or whether wearing a watch substitutes for a band?
      Wearing one band will certainly have an effect although it won’t be as strong as having both on. Using a watch as a substitute wouldn’t work because it won’t apply pressure to the specific point that the band targets.
      An alternative could be to take your watch off for a period of time when you know you can stay put, when you’re at your desk for example, so you can wear both bands for full benefit. You could do this periodically through the day when you feel the need…
      Hope these suggestions are helpful, let me know if I’ve got it completely wrong…😁

    • @ABetterPace

      Hi there, great question thank you! It’s actually better to use both as you have the same point on both wrists, although one is better than none if you need for work or when out…😁

    So pressing on the ball makes your anxiety go away or significantly reduce? how does that work though? Is it placebo or does the pressing serve as a reassurance that you're fine or serves as a distraction from what you're feeling anxious about?
    I'm really fascinated to know how this works? is this some mental comfort thing like a teddy bear or something?
    Please let me know.

    • @ABetterPace
      @ABetterPace  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there, thank you for engaging with the video and taking the time to ask some great questions!
      From what I know about anxiety it very rarely goes away completely. It can also have a rising quality to it, starting in the abdomen or chest, that can be quite overwhelming.
      My suggestion of using a ball on the bottom of the foot is based in Chinese Medicine theory because in that area there is a very important point that has a descending and calming function when stimulated. This helps to counter act the rising/panicky feeling of having an anxiety attack so it can be used effectively to reduce high levels of anxiety in the moment. By doing the exercise everyday for a few minutes it can also have the effect of keeping general anxiety levels lower, not only from stimulation of the point, but also because it works as a distraction for the overwhelmed nervous system. In other words, it ticks a lot of boxes 😀
