Ronnie Dyson had a voice like no other. Just like Luther Vandross, he can go high or low because he can make his voice expand, which can be extremely hard if you are a singer. Our family back in the day had just one album by this spectacular singer. I have a friend, who knew Ronnie Dyson personally, because of the church they went to in the sixties. He said, "Maurice, when this guy was done singing, he had damn near everyone in that church crying!" And I believe him. A legendary singer in his own right. The songs Ronnie Dyson sung that stuck out to me are "Even In The Darkest Night", "Familiar Strangers" & "Waiting For You." God Bless him, we lost him way too soon.

My ex-husband told me I was going to be a one-hit wonder after winning a songwriting award in the UK songwriting contest in 2011. Five awards and four EPs later. I'm like who is a one-hit wonder, joker? Ronnie Dyson had hit after hit and lives on in living memory because he was just that great! Payola works in the music industry. To me, success is when your music touches and impacts lives. I can't ever thank myself enough for ignoring detractors!

I love all music, but R&B is my absolute favorite. Ronny Dyson sang one most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. It’s called “I Think I’ll Tell Her”. I love all of his music, but this diamond-in-rough didn’t receive the accolades it deserved. Look it up and I guarantee you’ll listen to it for the rest of your life! Dave the Musicologist

My 2 favorites written by the great dynamic duo, the late Thom Bell and Linda Creed " I think I'll tell her" and " One man band." May they rest in peace.

His song, She's Gone hits so hard as I relate it to my mom ho has passed away in 2021. Blessings n RIP Ronnie❤

He had 1 top 10 hit on the pop charts. The term “One Hit Wonder” is most commonly used in regard to music performers with only one hit single that overshadows their other work. His hit “(If You Let Me Make Love to You Then) Why Can't I Touch You?” Overshadows his other work even the entitled album was his most successful. Therefore according to the term One Hit Wonder it still stands

Ronnie Dyson was one of those rare voices we find no replacement for, his voice had so many facets, Frankie Lymon, Little Willie John, Mel Carter, Donnie Hathaway, to name a rare few and yet it was Mr. Dyson himself. I can't think of anything he couldn't sing because, like those previously mentioned, he was a genius, whose voice went to sleep with him.
