Mary’s Apparitions for the World: Tours, Manopello

  • The early apparitions in the 1830s and 1840s were the foundation stones of all the subsequent modern apparitions. Before the great apparition at LaSalette, Jesus and Mary used a generous Carmelite Sister as the vessel to receive and transmit important lessons of the great power that small sacrifices have to change hearts and to change the world. Sister Marie StPierre of the Holy Family was a household name in Catholic France, thanks to labors of Leo Dupont. Later on, St. Therese the “Little Flower,” another French Carmelite, was God’s chosen instrument to “broadcast” to the whole world the lessons that she learned from Sister Marie StPierre. And it is not words alone, but the very expression of the “Face of God” which taught them and teaches us. This conference calls attention to three miraculous images: Veronica’s Veil, the Shroud of Turin and the veil of Manoppello

Thank you, Sister, for your very informative work on this subject. I have been reading the book, "The Golden Arrow" (The Autobiography and Revelations of Sister Mary of St. Peter on Devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus) and have found this to be a very useful supplement to it.

@@MarianNews Thank you, Sr. Anne, I really appreciate this! Last year, just before Mass, a woman that I never saw before, gave me a small card with the last picture of the Holy Face. After reading the back of it, I became curious about the devotion. I later ordered the book, "The Golden Arrow." I've been praying that prayer ever since as a part of my daily prayers.

Great and informative talk. I would like to get a transcript of this video so I can understand it more. The link for the transcript doesn't appear to be valid anymore. Thank you.

Dear Aurel, I apologize that most of my links are broken. A talented webmaster has recently volunteered to expand and improve the House of Mary website so that we won't have to rely on third party hosting services. Please give us another month or so, and then you should be able to find many resources at houseofmaryomd.org

Great talk v interesting. How are they numbered? I'm trying to find the talk on Karl Marx and the Paris commune that you referenced in your talk? Bless you Caoimhe

Dear Caoimhe: This video is #2 in my apparition series. I was referencing the info on Marx and the commune to Video #1 th-cam.com/video/BFVnYj5053c/w-d-xo.html in which I was quoting from:
Saint Catherine Labouré of the Miraculous Medal: A definitive biography by Fr. Joseph Dirvin, CM 1958. This book is now in public domain. I plan to upload many public digital sources to a new "Marian Library" door on my website. In the meantime I put the PDF in a personal dropbox for you here: www.dropbox.com/s/3nma5hqnk9q4ie8/StCatherineLaboure_Dirvin.pdf?dl=0 If you click "MarianNews" underneath the screen, you'll come to my channel's homepage. I've arranged videos in sequence in playlist categories. On my website I've tried to arrange them in a more user-friendly interface. This is a work in progress. houseofmaryomd.org

Isaiah 42:8, "I am the LORD, that is my name, and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." God hates idolatry.

What is your point here Lisa? God instructed the Israelites to raise a bronze pillar of a serpent as a sign of healing, He ordered the Ark to be decorated by two statues of Cherubim, He ordered the curtain of the tabernacle to be decorated with angels. King Solomon ordered two more huge statues of Cherubim to stand behind the Ark. Some Israelites felt tempted to venerated the bronze serpent, but that wasn't God's fault. He hates idolatry, but He has ordered the making of graven images.

@@MarianNews Graven Image? An Idol, object, or image that is worshipped as the representation of a deity or God. Why do people get needlessly hung up on that? I have various figurines of Mary - Guadalupe, and Lourdes. I have Sto Nino from the Philippines. I have a couple crucifixes. And a few other saints. My view is that these are not Graven Images - these are not gods and are not worshipped. For me, these are reminders of what is most important in life. And with the deluge of images, noise, and everything else in life, we really do need reminders of what is important. And if people want to get nit-picky - it is nitpickiness that has fractured the Christian church over the past two thousand years.
