Leather Crafting - Making a Pin & Needle Cushion
It always seems like needles go missing in the workshop, so I like to keep these simple pin and needle cushions around to store my needles safely. You can make one of these needle holders out of any type of leather - we usually use scrap leather that isn't big enough to sample other products with. The Needle & Pin cushion in this video is made from natural vegetable tanned leather with waxed poly threads and hand sewn.
When making your own needle / pin cushion, you can do all sorts of fun designs with the needle holes on top. It's also a great use for leather that may have brands or stamps you otherwise wouldn't use on finished pieces.
The measurements for this pin cushion are 4" x 4". It helps to make these a bit large because it's harder for them to go missing!
Oh, man, I've been looking for info on this project lately. Good timing. Going to have to buy an old chair now. Haha.
that's step one of course ;)
A typical New Englander.....stealing from the seat cushion :}. Born in Natick,MA
Precioso! Gracias.
I laughed out loud when you robbed the poor ol chair of it's stuffing. 😂
I cannot find this pattern. Did u take it down ? Love ur videos!
Lol, stealing from the chair.
The chair will get flatter over time!
Nice work! What are you using for the edges??
You always surprise me with small, usefully projects that are a joy to watch you make.
Love the colour of the video and i like that u use natural lighting while working. There's something therapeautic about listening to the sounds and watching you both work. Hope to see more innovative n original works in the future.
Love this project.
Muy bello. Excelente trabajo.
Hello!
Can anyone tell me what ist the what stuff in the jar he used before burnishing?
On the edges? Probably Tokonole.

Nice there's a Project that will stick around, any of your videos explain how you stitch?
That way of stitching caught my attention a few weeks ago and started using it for everything.
not yet, we're working on a whole slew of instructional videos. We use a saddle stitch that I learned a long time ago from an old timer called the leap frog style, it's a standard saddle stich just without a pony - I'll explain it as best I can in a video soon!
so soothing and helpful to watch!
your work persuading me to love you .
Great idea, thanks
I was gonna mention how funny stealing stuffing from the chair was, but everyone else beat me to it.
Thanks for the inspiration. I made one for myself.
any time! hope you like it on your workbench!
Hello,I want to ask where the glue or leather glue is bought .Thank you, and I live in h.k😊
@Corter Leather would love to see you craft a leather tool belt.
Just saw this, VERY GOOD YOUNG LADY, I like where you got the stuffing, I personally use wool that I shave off when I line phone or gun cases. GOD'S BLESSINGS SISTER ✝️⚾ 🙃

It would be cool if you put captions explaining what you are doing
Well done. I like it. Could it be an idea to put some fabric behind the holes to prevent the stuffing showing or poking out? 👍👍👍
it is an idea, give it a try!
Sure will 😉
