Anyone trying to install a short shifter, use a drill bit to beat that pin out. Trust me, you'll thank me later 😅. After 15 minutes of not being successful with the allen wrench trick that ppl recommended, I pulled out my tool bag and found my drill bits that were so much more durable and shorter than an allen wrench. Took 30 seconds that pin was out.
yeah you just have to lock out the reverse cable wire. It gives slack to the cable when taking it on and off the shifter. Takes literally 15seconds to do.
Nope no noise or vibration at all in mine that I've come to notice yet. I know when people install these they have to ziptie the reverse cable so it doesn't hit the drive shaft.. but when I did mine I had absolutely ZERO play in mine. So not sure what made mine different.
i just installed the cobb shifter on my sti and liking it so far. didnt go for the bushings and once i got under the car i realized the bushings are for the rods the hold the ball joint housing. so im curious to whats the point of doing that pain in the ass job on a part that has no movement?
if you want no play in the shifter once it's in gear then yes get them , note: cabin noise will be louder since there is no play for the drivetrain. 100% worth it imo, car feels so much better when just daily driving
not at all, the shifting from gear to gear is a lot shorter and quicker. That's where it gets "short" shifter from. It has a shorter throw between gears.
Nice video tho. Waiting for mine to come in the mail. You should check out the Perrin reverse lock out. It replaces the oem piece....better design and no annoying pin.

pro tip- turn your hammer 90 degrees and use the side in low clearance spaces. its a tiny roll pin; it wont need much force.
Did you have to do anything underneeth the car ?

@@turner492 What was the total time taken to install this?
Do you have an noise or vibration? I hear there is more gear whine and rattles from the cable

Can you lower the height of the short throw from the oem?
I don't like how it moves the shifter forward. 4th gear is where neutral should be
Drifting and driving in circles are two different things.
is this easier to install then the boomba?
It's a short shifter... 99% sure they all install the same way.. and I'm pretty sure boomba's are only for wrx's.
Decent intro
More videos! lol I got happy when I seen you uploaded. Great stuff
Aladdin92 haha right on. Thanks man
Would you consider installing the bushing kit? Or think it’s worth it?

Is the only difference is height?

Mike Turner thank you
"You just have to stay reluctant with it." ???? I don't think you understand what reluctant means. Persistent yes....reluctant nooooooo.
TERRIBLE ONE haha yeah I noticed that after I made the video.. it was being reluctant.. not be reluctant. Just didn't phrase it right. Good catch
