Just from this episode, I can tell this is going to be an absolutely classic season. The way the cast immediately forms a comedic back-and-forth in the studio. Jenny's twenty-one eggs. Ivo's awkwardness. "BRACE! BRACE!"
The arguments over a "picture of something" in this series are amazing. So many twists. The whole series... is great IMO. Far from the best. There are some classic Alex tasks, though, the ones I really love TM for. The one with the yarn is one of those. (And the with the conveyor, and the "leave the caravan" one...)
I wonder if next series there'll be a task "Surprise Alex with the news of your pregnancy. Most exciting surprise wins!". and then in another series still we'll get "Deliver your divorce papers to Alex. Most irrefutable delivery wins.".

At the beginning of every new Taskmaster series, I'm always like "I don't want these new strangers, I want to go back to the previous cast that I now love and adore", but a few tasks in and I already love the new cast as much as I did all of the others. How you keep doing this, Taskmaster!

As a dancer, the wedding dance challenge was hilarious. There’s so much that goes into choreographing and watching those attempts with no music was pure gold
When you watch certain tasks, and you see how badly certain contestants do, you always like to think you could probably do better than them, even though you may not. In the case of the barge task, however, I'm fairly certain I would crash into at least as many things as Jenny did 😂

The barge task was SO GOOD! I hope TM has the proper insurance to cover damages to the boat & canal infrastructure. Those were some hard hits - but worth every penny for some of the funniest lines ever (and Kiell's song).
They would have had to be properly covered to even get a filming permit. Unless this section of canal is privately owned, then the laws may be a bit looser, but I'm sure a crash or two was completey expected and prepared for.

The bang of the collision went right into the headphones, and he was apparently in a bit of shock. That said, he handled it bravely because, after all, this was his task, and they got such great audio of it. "BRACE! BRACE!"
I loved how awkward the dance task was with out music. You could hear everybody breathing heavy. Imagine listening on headphones. I'm so glad series 15 is out on youtube US right after 14 was released I thought it would be a couple months. Mabye we will get series 16 sooner than we think on US youtube.

I remember watching series 12 a year ago and only having 6 episodes. But the playlist had 10 episodes in it. They said for the other videos this is unavailable in your region. Then 1 month later all 10 episodes were avalible. I don't mean like an entire difrent brand of youtube. I'm sorry my comment language is weird. Let me know how it works are you from the UK. Do the episodes realese the same on the channel or do they wait after a series is released on channel 4 for a couple of months until arriving on youtube.

this season contains some of my favorite petty studio arguments of any TM season, and I'm so excited to get to rewatch them. thanks as always for sharing these online!!!
I've really started to love seasons like this where I don't really know any of the contestants ahead of time because I start off not knowing who to root for and wind up usually rooting for most of the cast by the end.
I love that John's Sailor Hat from the prize task made an appearance this episode. The small list of little Easter eggs that accrue with each series makes this show more and more fun to watch. Like how the suitcase with marbles and forks from the Tarp task in Series 14 comes back in the finale of Series 16
Normally, by the end of the season, I absolutely adore and respect all 5 contestants of a series. This season however will be vastly different. It took me less than 20 minutes.
Comedic timing of the ads… “I’ve been proposed to many times and had a good number of stag dos, but now, it’s time… for this!” *cuts to an ad for Bumble*
lmfao... the wedding dance one... So, if you've never done a silent dance party, they're a lot of fun. But THIS is exactly why when someone is like "nah, I'll just come and watch" the answer if "hell no!" There's no way not to look ridiculous when people can't hear the music
So glad that Taskmaster continues to share full eps for those of us who can't watch in the usual manners. Let's do them a solid and let all of the ads play on the videos
So funny because three years ago, right around Halloween, I watched through all the seasons of taskmaster on TH-cam. But I kind of fell of watching it after that. Now, yesterday, I went down a rabbit hole watching Mae Martin’s standup, and I was like literally I just need more content with this person, and then I learned they were in this season, so it feel very full circle to come back to it now
I am ashamed to admit that I was NOT looking forward to her at all. I didn't know her, and I expected another Jo Brand. But what a charming, absolutely delightful person she is. I don't know where she falls on my contestant ranking tier, but I'm so glad she agreed to do the show.
Her episodes of the Taskmaster podcast are quite funny, as is her episode of Off Menu. Made me like her even more than her appearance on actual Taskmaster (probably cause the interviews are an hour or longer).
The fact that we can't even hear the music in their dances makes it so much better Edit: Wait, didn't Frankie touch one of the rubber rings with his head, disqualifying him?
Why is no one talking about the Ivo and Kiell's sniping of the buckets. Impressive and a perfect tv moment that could've been pulled straight from a drama

Everytime a new series comes out I wait till the end just to see the titles, and I cannot explain how much it warms my heart just to see that after all this time i can always expect to see "Task Consultant Tim Key".
British comedy is just superior because its more diverse. I am American and are comedy, although unique perspectives exist, are very similar in style. And television and movie writing all feels so formulaic, we do have some rare wins though. But we don't have people like James Acaster in America.
I love how the height of the poles are adjusted in the studio task aligning the contestants' height. This wasn't alwas like that (see "Find all 10 ducks" for example)
First, the TaskMaster team rocks with the TH-cam releases. The mentality of releasing them here, later naturally, is awesome. Allows us in the US to watch this amazing show easily. Also, I think May is an early favorite for me. I like her humor.
@@jeffturley7759 this is why I have such a hard time with people who use multiple pronouns. I understand it’s usually to point out the ones that are off limits, but gosh I wish they would pick one. Most people that use multiples, still have a preference, and it absolutely zaps my social anxiety at the thought of getting it wrong.
A lot of the "Don't do the task, just ask Alex to do it for you" strategies have been shut down since previous contestants have done it. Alex will just refuse now if he's asked to do more than just help hold something while they tape it or where to find an item or prop.

I mean, it's not just the internet that has music rights. They'd have had to pay a lot of money to clear all those songs to play on air.
It's the realization of this fact that made me understand why some clips in episodes of earlier series were completely muted.
That final task was quintessential Taskmaster. It doesn't matter how badly you do, somebody else will always get themselves disqualified.

Normally, by the end of the season, I absolutely adore and respect all 5 contestants of a series. This season however will be vastly different. It took me less than 20 minutes.

Now every time I watch an episode from an earlier season, I'm always expecting it to begin with a "Brace, brace!"

So funny because three years ago, right around Halloween, I watched through all the seasons of taskmaster on TH-cam. But I kind of fell of watching it after that. Now, yesterday, I went down a rabbit hole watching Mae Martin’s standup, and I was like literally I just need more content with this person, and then I learned they were in this season, so it feel very full circle to come back to it now

I am ashamed to admit that I was NOT looking forward to her at all. I didn't know her, and I expected another Jo Brand. But what a charming, absolutely delightful person she is. I don't know where she falls on my contestant ranking tier, but I'm so glad she agreed to do the show.
Her episodes of the Taskmaster podcast are quite funny, as is her episode of Off Menu. Made me like her even more than her appearance on actual Taskmaster (probably cause the interviews are an hour or longer).
If they keep this up it's a banger of a series!! Kiell, Frank and Ivo will smash the comedy and Mae the tasks! 🤣

really strong first episode. sometimes it takes a few episodes to get into it depend on the cast, but really loved them all quite quickly.
The fact that we can't even hear the music in their dances makes it so much better

Everytime a new series comes out I wait till the end just to see the titles, and I cannot explain how much it warms my heart just to see that after all this time i can always expect to see "Task Consultant Tim Key".
15 series later… still better than ur average tv programming in America.
British comedy is just superior because its more diverse. I am American and are comedy, although unique perspectives exist, are very similar in style. And television and movie writing all feels so formulaic, we do have some rare wins though. But we don't have people like James Acaster in America.

I love how the height of the poles are adjusted in the studio task aligning the contestants' height. This wasn't alwas like that (see "Find all 10 ducks" for example)

First, the TaskMaster team rocks with the TH-cam releases. The mentality of releasing them here, later naturally, is awesome. Allows us in the US to watch this amazing show easily. Also, I think May is an early favorite for me. I like her humor.

@@jeffturley7759 this is why I have such a hard time with people who use multiple pronouns. I understand it’s usually to point out the ones that are off limits, but gosh I wish they would pick one. Most people that use multiples, still have a preference, and it absolutely zaps my social anxiety at the thought of getting it wrong.
Looks like another great cast! A bit surprised that none of them thought to ask Alex to grab the rings as they were going by on the barge task.
A lot of the "Don't do the task, just ask Alex to do it for you" strategies have been shut down since previous contestants have done it. Alex will just refuse now if he's asked to do more than just help hold something while they tape it or where to find an item or prop.
