So glad you included the Am in the 3rd verse! I can't tell you how many bands and solo performers I have heard over the past 40+ years play this incorrectly, everyone just plays the D-C on the word "mind"...what are they listening to when they learn the song? I call it the chord that separates the pros from the amateurs.....
Just checked out for about 4 video of you and i finally got a hope on my little "guitar story" started after 1 year of disappointing :) Starting to fall in love with your helpful video, thanks so much.
I have been playing this song for a long time but I still loved watching this tutorial. Singing cracks me up. Thanks for helping me to learn guitar. Keep on rocking Marty!
Great stuff Marty I wish you would put out a song book featuring the many easy guitar pieces for beginners with the Eagles and some other acoustic bands and Bob Dylan Neil Young and some of your other introductory type stuff I would love to see the cords above the words and the strum patterns of course thanks for teaching me how to play guitar!
So Marty's bud Justin just did a new Hotel CA lesson and he promised an additional supplement for the solo soon. Sorry for the hijack Marty, but doubt you are worried about sharing the love. Great Take It Easy lesson, and always love your get in and get out fast approach. Couple details in this one I was missing. Thanks!
I have not checked out your video's in a while Marty, I see you have a new AX. Nice 814ce. I work for a Taylor dealer, and I have yet to see a Taylor come threw with a finger board that beautiful since the intro of the smoked ebony finger boards. Nice!
yo marty, i really appreciate your videos. they help me out a lot. i would love if you did a doc watson lesson. he is a bluegrass or flat picking style
I am a beginner and have to go over things a few times. Do you have a handout for this lesson that you can send me for "Take it Easy"? This is my favorite song and always wanted to learn how to play it.
Like he said, you hold on G on the bottom two strings, and then while those are still ringing you do little hammer on/pull offs ,on the strings respectively, while still strumming. Hope this helped I'm not a good explainer lol
Oh, and there is also a little bit of a bend as well on the 3rd string. So while you still have that G ringing out, bend the 3rd string up a bit. It might be difficult at first, but that's what practice is for :) Good luck. :)
The real way to play it is play a 3 finger G chord with your 3rd finger on the G. Second chord you keep your 3rd finger and pinky on the G notes and your first and middle finger play C on the B string and E on the D string, respectively. Next chord you simply move your middle finger from the E to the A note on the G string. The chords spelled are Gmaj Cmaj/G D7sus4/G
that's so wrong, please tell me this is a beginner lesson and you do know how to play the song the right way. And I'm ok with that. If not you do a disservice to people teaching the wrong way to play songs.
You've got a natural talent for helping others. Thanks, Marty.
It's a G my lord in a D-bed ford slowing C to take a look at G, take it Em, take it C-G, great song, great lesson!
Thank you, none of the chord charts I have looked at accurately explain the chords for this song - you got it! You filled in the blanks for me.

Singing the chords out with the melody, I love it. That's exactly how I've done it when showing songs to a band. Brilliant.

Wrong chords in the beginning, brother.
