Cabin in the Woods 42: Installing Rock Solid Railing Posts

  • In this episode of Cabin in the Woods, we start installing our railing posts for the second story railing. I show you how we made our posts as rock solid as possible. Using a 6x6 post with timberlock fasteners is a great combination for rigidity and just wait to see the entire railing done! It will look awesome!
The real winner in this video is the Milwaukee m18 oscillating tool. As you can see in the video, it works really well and with the Auto feature, it only increases the speed or power when needed. It helps keep the sound levels low too which is nice. A multi tool like this is only good for the person using it. Everyone else on site hates them.

VERY GOOD . ON A SUNNY DAY? WHILE VERY COLD OUT, THE HOMEOWNERS MY NOT EVEN HAVE TO TURN ON THE HEAT , UNTIL THEY LOOS SUNLIGHT, GREAT OPEN SPACE! AND THE HEAT IS ATTRACTED TO THE DARK FLOOR , IT WILL ATTRACT THE SUNLIGHT VERY WELL! PLANS WERE WELL LOOKED OVER! AND CHECKED TROUGH OUT, Good Job.

the thing everyone forgets to mention when talking about khols returns is the coupon is only for off-brand merchandise. so you'll end up at the counter and only 1 of the 5 items you spent 30-45min rounding up get the 25% off.

Hi Kyle ! I really am starting to like those Keen “Cincinnati” work boots!
I wear the San Jose ones but winter time they were not warm enough!
I found the new ones I got (U wear Greg prefers tennis shoes) took bout two weeks break in! Not the foot bed they came with is dead nuts on!
Let me say this to Greg; Kyle? I fell last Sept off of some scaffolding that collapsed (improper assembly) 15’ in the air full bags and 61 yrs old!
I caught my foot on the edge of the cement shattering it in 6 places!
I got up and finished the job?
Then drove my self to the ER.
Doctor said if I had tennis shoes on I would of had to have surgery ? The boot and surrounding leather supported my ankle enough thus preventing a compound fracture !
As an officer for 30 years we were required to wear boots with a steel shank? While searching an abandoned building for a suspect I stepped on a trap sending a rusty 3” piece of metal thru my boot into the steel shank never touching my foot?
I seen guys who wore cheap boots and then when allowed a hiking boot style tennis shoe have their tendon snap while pulling on their shoe ?
The department foot doctor we were sent to told them improper foot wear for the job might feel good however over time (my age) you will literally be hobbling from arthritis ?
I am 62 still carrying bags, building cabinets, doing trim , making money!
Cause I love it and I can still do it because I took care of my body!
    Especially my feet & hands!
I hv broke my back, every finger, hernia operation , foot, all my toes, shattered my right hand (pinned while healing) reconstructed right wrist, and I forgot about broken ribs ect.,.
Only two of those were while doing carpenter work! The rest were as a police officer in a tad bit of a rough area?
Greg you better take care of your feet/ankles brother! Wear good boots even the Keen line has good light hiking boot styles I wear in the summer!
Tennis shoes off the shelf meant for kicking around on the weekend or a run?
Mark my words my friend when my age you will be crippled up bad!

    • @nevermindthebull0cks

YEAAAAASSSSSSssssssssss. Not specifically the steel, but the large open areas are always loud.
I do commercial electrical and large building get nicer to work in the more stuff there is in there to interrupt the sounds waves. I assume it will at some point be full of mounts and furniture and that will help a bunch.
