Definitely true. I agree that "just reading" is a huge language hack, tons of input. I've also been thinking about how one can capitalize on reading even more with tech (stuff like having a dictionary handy in-app when you're reading on a kindle, etc.)

Yeah, people with the largest vocabularies in any language are usually avid readers.
There's actually a voice reader function in the Kindle app you can turn on and it will read out whatever text you have which is great especially where you're first starting out.

Keep it up man. The reading journey does pay off. Gone through about 33 novels written in Spanish now and reading, reading aloud, and along with audio has been indispensable.

I am reading in German as I am already above C1 level in it. Currently almost done reading "Deep work" by cal newport but in German. I would recommend this book if its available in Spanish.

I will say that reading too much early can cause people to develop weird accents. It's not the biggest deal in the world, but it is a factor worth being aware of for language learners who want to speak with a native accent.
    Generally I recommend:
    1. Listening
    2. Speaking
    3. Reading
Which is the order that we learn our first language as kids. Learn the basics through listening, practice the basics with speaking, then advance past the intermediate stage with reading. That seems to be the most successful pattern I've seen in language learners.

Did you read Despertando en Medellin? How is that? curious about that book!

I randomly found it while searching around and thought it looked pretty badass so I got it.
Its supposed to be a detective crime story in Medellin. Unfortunately, its a bit above my level but looking forward to coming back to it a bit later.

Also can you give me tips for keeping crosstalk not awkward after the first meeting where we ask eachother personal questions if what to do after

Yeah, I would say try to treat it like your a getting to know a friend like in your native language, you'll ask about hobbies, stuff you have in common, talk about funny situtations that happened to you guys before.
Here is some of the stuff I do:
      - Usually I do Crosstalk every 1 - 2 weeks so we have stuff to talk about
      - Talk about stuff that is happening in your life like places you want to travel, holiday plans etc.
      - You can look up questions online like "funny questions to ask friends" and talk about them. Usually I can't get past more than 10 in 1 session because their is usually a lot to say for each
      - You can play online games with eachother, make tierlists, watch youtube / movies together. Really anything where your hearing the language
Overall, I would recommend treating your crosstalk partner just like any other friend you would make in your native language. Maybe I'll make a video talking about this since other's might have the same question.
