I re-watched the video about Scarlet's DNA to refresh my memory. The top three breeds in her profile were Quarter Horse, Criello and Trakehner. My theory about Scarlet's continued growth in height is it comes from the Trakehner. Several info sites report this breed averages 15.2 to 17 hands. At the rate Scarlet is sprouting, I can easily see her reaching 16 hands. I'd love to see her under hunt seat as she matures.
Such a good girl! So smart! She really wants to please you. She trust's you. And that's a wonderful thing! The love and trust of a good horse is an amazing thing!

It is wonderful watching you training your horse pressureless, accepting their fear and keep calm when they get spoked. Scarlet looks great, saddled. She is a beautiful horse and the bond with you is notable.
Watching you saddle her up the second time brought tears to my eyes. Knowing how much work you've put into her and where she came from and how easily her story could have turned out for the worse, watching her get saddled so easily and lunge for you so well really put into perspective what an incredible job it is that you do. 💖💖💖

Dear CC, What beautiful video footage of the sun through the fog in yesterday's video. You continue to make lovely and thoughtful videos and I have noticed how good your camera skills have become. Thank you so much for a cameo of Nigel yesterday in his own perfect pony paridise! I have grown to love all the precious ones under your care but Nigel just hits me hard in the heart. I love that Nigel and Frisco Bill being the two old grumps of the place are getting along well. G
Scarlet did great! Well done. One of our girls (when I was young) would never accept a saddle. We tried at least a dozen different ones and it was a rodeo no matter what we did. She was fine with a bareback pad that had stirrups, but something with a saddle just didn't work for her. I could ride bareback, sit backward, ride standing, laying, sideways, and any other way I could dream up. LOL Just never a saddle. During the years I rode her I had the best developed core,, butt, and leg muscles of my entire life. LOL
You’re right…I no longer own horses, but used to for 50 years…so I do enjoy watching you do daily chores as well as working with your horses…thanks for sharing your wonderful life with us…❤️🙏😊
I use an ATV for my horse chores too and during the winter I put a trickle charge on it so it starts for me. Their not very expensive and should be easy to find especially where you are. I use to live in the snow zone and it definitely helps. Great job saddling Scarlet for the first time. For her, she seemed to be pretty relaxed about it. Take the time it takes, right! 😊❤
Nothing more magical than silhouettes of horses in a thick fog. Scarlette was very accepting of the saddle. Not as scary as stepping into the stall! It was a great training session.
Right! We can learn many things from TH-cam, but horse training needs to be hands-on. Every horse is different. We had a few horses 20 years ago, but none now. One was a skittish old mare - that horse taught me a lot. We got her at about 15 years old, I think she was someone's 4H project, so she had the basic saddling and riding skills, but she was afraid of birds and lizards and the wind rustling the trees. Your videos are bringing back some great memories. So thanks!
She looked a bit humpy in the beginning. But by the end she had relaxed her back a lot and was moving nicely. She has good bone, and lovely distance covering tracking trot. Along with her height, she may be your future endurance horse. As you know, Mustangs have endurance.
Slow and relaxed training, good for Scarlett and good for me. The tempo with the music was so nice. I think she really trusts you and I guess she's not a wild horse any more. I love her.
I don't think I've watched even one video of CC's without tearing up (not always from sorrow) or laughing. It's weird but I feel bonded to all. Huckleberry's reproachful gaze was epic. How an animal without eyebrows or lips conveys expression baffles me, but he managed it.
That was a wonderful video from the foggy beginning to the lovely music at the end. I’m glad you emphasize the need to train both sides of the horse, like removing the saddle from the off-side. Scarlett is going to turn out to be a beautiful, athletic horse.
No animal can give side eye the way a dog can. Poor Huckleberry. It was really impressive the way Scarlett handled this new experience. It's very clear that your patience and time with her has given her the tools to think through things that are scary. She's going to be ready for trail rides before you know it.
Really enjoyed this video. The fog was beautiful. Huckleberry got put in timeout for eating horse pucky. And Scarlett is being so good. You have done a great job with her and she is a really neat horse.
That picturesque start to your day was fantastic - wish I could paint it. Here in England we are having the same misty mornings. Fun fact I learned the other day, from a saying: mist descends (from damp air or low clouds?), fog rises (from the ground). Whichever it was, the horses appearing out of it was VERY atmospheric (halloween-ish).
I had to laugh at Stewey wondering what in the dickens Huckleberry was wearing 😂. Zig is always happy to see you and Scarlet is such a brave girl! She is coming along very well.
What a joy Scarlett is to watch - she is so responsive to your training work, which is gentle and custom made for each horse. This means she learns fast. Enjoyable video!
Yep.....LG and W are chewing funny.....My Arab gelding got a short stick lodged crosswise in the roof off his mouth. It was forked on one end was way back....the vet missed it the first time he looked. Fished it out with a long hook.....This particular horse liked to fiddle with stuff, but this was a surprise! His chewing was normal, but he just did not have his normal spark! Your boys act like more like they have a tooth issue?!
I had a young gelding get a stick wedged in the roof of his mouth. He was chewing strangely one evening, and the vet did end up removing it the next day.
That mist is the early morning in the UK 😊 Scarlett is doing so well for a wild horse! When you go and look at her as the scared little baby she was, you wouldn't believe it was the same horse ❤
First the eerie fog, then the beautiful blue sky, then the threat of storm -- but more blue sky near the end! Yes, I see why you love Montana! Between the horses, the scenery and the music, I have to watch the videos at least twice to take it all in. Thank you!
I was pleased to see Huckleberry wearing his orange jacket now that it’s hunting season. There was a woman here in Maine, who was shot while hanging clothes out on her line because she had white mittens on and a hunter thought she was the tail of a deer. 😳 You just can’t be too careful! Scarlet did a wonderful job with her first “under saddle” training day. We’re all very proud of her.😊
Aww Scarlet! So inquisitive! You’ve given her so much reassurance - she knows it’s okay to use her nose and her brain and be curious and trusting. She’s so brave and beautiful. Thank you CC!
Scarlet is good-natured, sure, but I think the most important part is the way you treat her. With patience and understanding. That builds trust, and trust is the most important thing. Scarlet trusts you and she knows you won't harm her. As a result she lets it all happen, albeit with some trepidation, because hey, it's all relatively new to her. A good, promising session, in the end...
CC, that was so satisfying to watch! I found myself holding my breath a little bit, but as the video went on, I caught myself murmuring, "good girl, Scarlet Good GIRL"! Just rooting for her the whole time. What an excellent horsewoman you are! Thanks for another great video, CC! 💜🐎💜
Delightful video. The music added a soothing gentleness. Loved seeing Pete coming to you wanting attention. He's such a beautiful horse. Huckleberry zooming around with his bright jacket made me smile. Love just doing the rounds with you and getting to see all the horses. I'll be curious to see what the vet has to say about Little Gus and Whiplash's teeth. And Scarlett is responding like a pro to your patient and calming training. Add a beautiful Montana skyline with a storm moving in, Just marvelous. Thank you so much, CC.
Could see your smile even at the distance you are from the camera. Also liked Tiny's commentary at one point. I do not comment often buy I watch and enjoy all your videos! Thank you for all you do for your horses!

Oh wow CC. I found myself actually saying to myself while you were saddling your beautiful Scarlett for the second time, ‘OH GOOD GIRL SCARLETT. GOOD GIRL❣️’ After that I found myself smiling, just watching everything you’re doing with her and how wonderful and amazing she’s being. I’m just so extremely proud of her. She is really coming into her own and it is very literally ALL thanks to you CC. She KNOWS that you keep her safe and she obviously loves and trusts you immensely. It really is beautiful to watch her transformation. It just seems that she has really come into her own, especially over these past few months.
Wow… a lovely relaxed day with Scarlet… beautiful to watch!🙏
Tha bond you have with Scarlett is strong. ❤
CC, that was so satisfying to watch! I found myself holding my breath a little bit, but as the video went on, I caught myself murmuring, "good girl, Scarlet
Good GIRL"! Just rooting for her the whole time. What an excellent horsewoman you are! Thanks for another great video, CC! 💜🐎💜
Huckleberry's look is called the Stink-Eye.
Definitely the stink eye!
Scarlet is such a gem
Good Job !!!!!!! You and Scarlet are amazing. You are a gifted woman and I am so pleased to have found you. Namaste'
Yay, Pete!!! What a good boy! Love him.
Scarlet is a credit to your training method. Congratulations on bringing her from a frightened foal to a trusting horse.
Could see your smile even at the distance you are from the camera. Also liked Tiny's commentary at one point. I do not comment often buy I watch and enjoy all your videos! Thank you for all you do for your horses!
Scarlett was amazing! 😍
Oh boy, I was a dog guy, but I’m starting to love horses because of your channel… oh my God you have such patience, we could all learn from you.
The guitar at 26 minutes was superb in the music. I’m a 50 year guitar player.
She’s such a good girl! I love to watch you train them. I love your gentle, positive reinforcement.
Oh wow CC. I found myself actually saying to myself while you were saddling your beautiful Scarlett for the second time,
‘OH GOOD GIRL SCARLETT. GOOD GIRL❣️’
After that I found myself smiling, just watching everything you’re doing with her and how wonderful and amazing she’s being. I’m beyond thrilled for her and couldn’t be more excited for her future.
Awesome job again CC. You really are so AMAZING with all of your gorgeous horses and I absolutely LOVE coming along for the ride. So THANK YOU❣️
Sending love and blessings from Melbourne, Australia❤️❤️
Also watching and appreciating from Melbourne!
I truly appreciate the respect you show all your critters. It shows in their freedom to be their best selves. I also appreciate the insight into the keen responsibility one needs to ensure the best lives of horses. It is truly a daily commitment and investment of time, talent and treasure. Love, love, love your heart-warming videos! Thank you!!
