Before I buy the kit, do mine answering some questions? What town driving like? I am asking as my NC is daily driver and sadly to say a lot of the time I’m driving in second, in traffic. Do you have the stage 1 or stage 2 kit. What’s fuel economy like. Probably won’t matter but I would like to know if it’s high before hand than finding out once I fit it and wondering if I done something wrong. How often do you change the oil? Is every 6 - 12 months
@@marccourt7363 I suppose it’s like any substantial increase in power is that fuel consumption takes a big hit especially when using the extra power. I can’t give you figures simply because it’s never been a concern for me, I totally understand that more power means more fuel. Driving in town is fine tbh the charger is not under stress so no issues, all I would say is to keep an eye on things I’ve fitted water temp gauge so I get a proper reading rather than standard oem vague readings along with oil temp and engine pressure gauges. The standard fan is enough to keep temps in check in slow traffic. Not sure which oil you referring to so I’ll cover both, engine oil I’ve always changed every 5000 miles which is over kill but I’d rather keep clean fresh oil in. Supercharger oil is eye wateringly expensive it’s basically jet engine oil and I’ve followed Rotrex guidance and changed every 2 years. Looking at your questions and may be wrong but if it’s mainly a a town driver I would seriously consider if the cost is worth the usage but obviously that’s your call. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your quick response, you were most helpful. For me,one way trip to work is 25 Km. In the morning it’s 100 all the way in, but on way home, I hit peak traffic and sometimes it’s stop and start. I read or seen, that the supercharger can cause the car to be a bit lumpy at low revs, so I was concerned if not handled well the car is prone to stalling. Love driving the car but I do wish for some more GO, especially when being dragged off at lights by Mazda2. As you said these things are expensive, so hence reason I’m asking all the questions from people who have real world experience, then asking a saleman. Good idea regarding the temperature gauge , being in Oz, it can get hot sometimes. I had my Ute remapped once, the fuel economy doubled and it looked I was burning a car tyre in the tray. That’s why was asking about fuel use, I rather the smoke comes from my tyres not my exhaust. Keep up your good work,
Nice one Gaz not done much to mine in the last few months except like you I had a flat bottom steering wheel from Royal steering wheels had my supercharger serviced at BBR along with oil changes runs so sweet
Great anniversary video. Just wondering how does the supercharger belts holds up. I’ve heard that the supercharger chews through them on a regular basis. How often do you replace it
@@marccourt7363 no not at all, I’ve not heard of that happening on this kit. I did replace mine last year as part of the 5 year service but it was fine.
Great to know. I watched on a TH-cam video of an install and the follow up video was that he removed it because it was throwing belts. It may have been a different kit not. Thanks for the reply
Awesome!!! Gotta mad NC too!!! 👍😊💥
