Great video Gaz, and thank you for coming as always.... Get it shared on MX5-Europe's face book page
@@dawasdave yep thanks fella, have done
Great video as usual mate! Gutted I couldn’t make this one 🥲
Hi Gaz, do you have any issues with water ingress into the car after installing the track door cards?
@@CJS621 no not at all. You retain the original rubbers on the door so there’s no reason to expect any.
Thanks for the response. That's good to hear. Looks like ill be getting some for Christmas then!@mx5gaz709
Have to admit that sounds awesome. Off to buy a cobra rear... john. Oh, thanks for sharing.
This is going to sound like a dig. It isn't. And I haven't followed your progress. Sorry. I'm 2 months into NC1 ownership. Love the car to its bones. I came from 12 years owning an E55K, remapped and delimited. Unless you're going to try drag racing (🤷) or competition drifting, I don't see point in trying to extract significant extra power from the lump. It's just a Ford Duratec 🤷 I would like more kick - it's a rabbit hole to go down, but mine is stock and a fabulous drive in the UK. Best of luck, I do love any video about the NC 👍
@@TimEvans-x6w you’ve obviously not seen my other videos where I’m doing sprint racing, so yea every need for more horsepower. It also makes up for the lack of power the standard car has. Doesn’t sound like a dig at all, I’ve had a lot worse said. Thanks for the comment and check out my sprinting videos 👍
Before I buy the kit, do mine answering some questions? What town driving like? I am asking as my NC is daily driver and sadly to say a lot of the time I’m driving in second, in traffic. Do you have the stage 1 or stage 2 kit. What’s fuel economy like. Probably won’t matter but I would like to know if it’s high before hand than finding out once I fit it and wondering if I done something wrong. How often do you change the oil? Is every 6 - 12 months
@@marccourt7363 I suppose it’s like any substantial increase in power is that fuel consumption takes a big hit especially when using the extra power. I can’t give you figures simply because it’s never been a concern for me, I totally understand that more power means more fuel. Driving in town is fine tbh the charger is not under stress so no issues, all I would say is to keep an eye on things I’ve fitted water temp gauge so I get a proper reading rather than standard oem vague readings along with oil temp and engine pressure gauges. The standard fan is enough to keep temps in check in slow traffic. Not sure which oil you referring to so I’ll cover both, engine oil I’ve always changed every 5000 miles which is over kill but I’d rather keep clean fresh oil in. Supercharger oil is eye wateringly expensive it’s basically jet engine oil and I’ve followed Rotrex guidance and changed every 2 years. Looking at your questions and may be wrong but if it’s mainly a a town driver I would seriously consider if the cost is worth the usage but obviously that’s your call. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your quick response, you were most helpful. For me,one way trip to work is 25 Km. In the morning it’s 100 all the way in, but on way home, I hit peak traffic and sometimes it’s stop and start. I read or seen, that the supercharger can cause the car to be a bit lumpy at low revs, so I was concerned if not handled well the car is prone to stalling. Love driving the car but I do wish for some more GO, especially when being dragged off at lights by Mazda2. As you said these things are expensive, so hence reason I’m asking all the questions from people who have real world experience, then asking a saleman. Good idea regarding the temperature gauge , being in Oz, it can get hot sometimes. I had my Ute remapped once, the fuel economy doubled and it looked I was burning a car tyre in the tray. That’s why was asking about fuel use, I rather the smoke comes from my tyres not my exhaust. Keep up your good work,
Was great to see you there Gaz…. Make sure you join the club stand for next year… we will definitely be going back 👍🏻
I recently came across your channel, what’s most important is you just going with your own creativity.
I build the yellow CRX Speedster. its not finished yet though ;-)
@@hadtstec wow , I’ve never seen anything like that, loved your steering wheel. Great job fella 👍
Great video...and Goodwood festival of speed is also on my bucket list 🏁
How it improved the braking performance ? How much reduction in stopping distance you observed ? Is it worth it for a daily driver road car.
I have the Cobalt box on my standard NC and it's not that noisy. It hasn't got any louder in the 5 years I've owned the car
Awesome!!! Gotta mad NC too!!! 👍😊💥
Great anniversary video. Just wondering how does the supercharger belts holds up. I’ve heard that the supercharger chews through them on a regular basis. How often do you replace it
@@marccourt7363 no not at all, I’ve not heard of that happening on this kit. I did replace mine last year as part of the 5 year service but it was fine.
Great to know. I watched on a TH-cam video of an install and the follow up video was that he removed it because it was throwing belts. It may have been a different kit not. Thanks for the reply
Nice one Gaz not done much to mine in the last few months except like you I had a flat bottom steering wheel from Royal steering wheels had my supercharger serviced at BBR along with oil changes runs so sweet
Man mine was 10 years on Saturday that’s weird af! You sticking your head in at oulton?
@@whitford0 hey up fella. No I’ve booked to go to good wood classic jap festival. Your going well aren’t you, 🤞
🍻
This good for a notchy 3rd gear?
@@lassydogpie5390 probably not, if all gears are a little tight then yes, but if it’s one gear then could be a selector failing.
@@mx5gaz709 cheers, maybe should try a brass one
Great video with some amazing cars.
Great video mate , takes me back to the 90’s when did some run what you brung in my escort RS turbo , hope you come back to javelin sprints next year, half way through my first year this year inspired by you !!!!
@@kevinridings7728 yes mate I’ll be back next year.
Great day, thanks Gaz 😊
WOW...that's the type of events I would go to....amazing
No spints this year Gaz?
Thanks Gaz. 👌👌❤️
Glad to see the MX5 is alive. Nice one Gaz!
First trip to the motorist, went down with Ian in the 25AE… your car did catch my eye whilst walking around the carpark, I mean it does stand out a bit 😂
The earth at the bottom of the engine possibly?.
Pleased to see you back on the road mate, you had me worried when you offered up your super charger! Can't wait to see you at the next winning blue meet.
Cheers for the shout out Gaz, Sooooo chuffed you're smiling again. Well done Naz great work.

Hope the garage finds it keep us all posted Gaz Steve the other supercharged mk3
That's a very clean looking install. You haven't done any cooling upgrades? That's impressive
There is an oil cooler fitted as well and in the summer I have a vented hood but other than that it runs really cool without anything else.
Good luck Gaz 👍
So sorry to hear this (Glad it runs on a bump start) i hope the Garage can find the issue. wish you luck.
Good luck bud, I hope you find the issue 👍
Thanks fella
@mx5gaz709 it's Chad lol
Love your videos. After 4 years how have these brakes preformed, any problems? Could you tell me the part of these, as l am looking at upgrading my brakes
They’ve been fantastic. They are 4 pot midilites
Did the same clutch and fly and will for sure be doing this coke the weekend. Just did r fluid change which was making life hell but this will make life easyer
Thinking of doing the same to one of mine. What's it like on fuel??
It uses more
Where did you find the rear bumper? Thank you, beautiful car!
It’s a rare optional pack from the factory. Comes with front spoiler was called the appearance pack as an option.
How’s it going Gary? Been missing you at the sprints you all good?
Yea mate all good. Can’t get car to start though it’s had an electrical death. Was looking forward to this year still hopefully be at Croft. Your going well aren’t you.
How do you all manage to get in there? 😞
Fab video Gaz can't believe I didn't see you there!
Our stand, well all 4 cars 😂 were put almost outside.
Great video
Can someone tell me what the green thing is? Mine perished and fell off and I don’t know what it’s called to replace it
They should have a j07 spec 1 and 2 to seperate road going and more track orientated cars. Would be amazing to see how close it would be you and the other road cars are.
Yea I’ve often thought that apart from one thing, I’d be the only one in it 😂. There’s only actually a couple of us in J7 who are road legal majority are race spec.
I have a lil ducktail spoiler. Hope I'm still part ot Mx5 Modified. 🤣
