It is great to hear this explained in a short documentary. Sandra Gathmann's voice is calm, clear, concerned but peaceful. A welcome change from other voices that attempt to convey the same story, but with emotional tones that are agitated or distorted by the deep and persistent traumas experienced by so many in the region.

The Israeli and Hamas conflict underscores the tragic consequences that can arise when religious differences lead to violence and division. In the pursuit of lasting peace, it's essential to transcend religious divides and prioritize the well-being of all people, regardless of their beliefs. Embracing secular values, such as human rights, equality, and diplomacy, can pave the way for a more peaceful and inclusive future where conflicts are resolved through dialogue and cooperation rather than religious affiliations. Art, as a powerful medium, can guide our morality by fostering empathy, promoting tolerance, and inspiring us to envision a world where humanity's shared values and aspirations unite us rather than divide us. Literature, in particular, has the unique ability to create open-minded perspectives by exposing us to diverse viewpoints, cultures, and ideas, which can ultimately lead to greater understanding and empathy among individuals and communities. Curiosity, not a belief in a deity, is the key to a fulfilling and meaningful life, driving us to explore, learn, and connect with the world around us in our shared human journey towards peace and enlightenment.

Learning of the current Gaza war has led me in need of much education. Finding your video at this time makes it even more vital to hear a complex issue presented clearly: you make sense of Jerusalem's centrality to three major religions. But how is it possible that such steps, leading to the most egregious attacks on prayer in what should be a safe and respected religious site at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, should pass us by? And how is one surprised that one day an eruption occurs, when freedom to pray and work and be is near buried?

    • @marioluigi9599
      @marioluigi9599 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I don't understand what you're saying. You seem to be on the side of the Waqf, but you say an "egregious attack on prayer". Perhaps it has passed by your notice, but the Waqf is literally preventing servants of God from praying to him. And what in God's eyes could be worse?

    • @donnazeff6597
      @donnazeff6597 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Arabs are restricted from praying on Al Aqsa when there are threats of violence to the Jews and others. It has happened more than once that rocks, boulders and bricks are hurled down at the Jewish worshipers praying at the Kotel/Western Wall. In contrast to this, Jews are always restricted from praying on what we call the Temple Mount. If a Jew attempts to pray on the Temple Mount, he is removed from the site immediately, and sometimes arrested if he's tried such a heinous crime before. And it is a lie to say that all rabbinic authorities forbid Jews from visiting the Temple Mount. Many rabbis allow it. It is also a lie to say that Al Aksa is only used for holy activities. Arabs go up to have picnics, play soccer, enjoy themselves with harmless fun. But Jews praying there are committing some kind of religious crime. Forbidding Jews from praying and visiting freely on their most holy site in their religion is 100% racism. There is no doubt that if the Temple Mount were entirely in the hands of the Arabs, Jews would not be allowed there at all. But as long as Israel has the final control, Arabs, Christians and Jews all have access. And one more thing: All the trouble did not begin in 1967. When Israel lost half of Jerusalem in 1948, it was felt like our heart was ripped from our bodies. So do not belittle the Jewish connection to all of Jerusalem. Our connection goes back 3,000 years.

You just conveniently forgot the truth parts here.
Hebron was a Jewish city untill the sultan came and expelled the news- for fact just see the meaningn of the word Hebron, isralei jewish city name
      Next
Israel was recreated(the third time) inside Palestine ( again, a jewish name look up)
The un and the rest of the world decided to give israel 30% of the land
And 70% to jordan and Egypt
Israel were born and was happy
But all the arab countriea were against so they started the annihilation war on israel in 1948, fortunately israel prevail and won , else we all have been slaughtered.
Than israel lived happy with what they had the 30/40% land untill 1967
Than again allll the arab countries with thier million troops
      Syria
      Egypt
      Jordan
      Started annihilation war on israel
And yet again israel won, big time
And added another 50% to her size
      Gaza
      And the Judea and samaria
Reminding you there is no such thing as Palestine authority at that time
Judea and smamaria(again, jewish name, jewsih history) belong to jordan, and all of their citizens had Jordanian passports
And gaza belonged to egypt and all the gaza citizens had Egyptian passprt
And in the golan height, it belonged to Syria, and again, all the citizens there have Syrian passports
And than the surprise war in 1973 again multiple arab countries attacked israel tried to annihilat us, with the help.of ussr weapons and support.
But yet again, israel prevailed and, in the process, kept all the sinai area from egypt (that later we gave back to make peace with them)
And then after all thw arab countries saw they can't annihilat israel by force
      They created a new plan
      The Palestinian authority
      They created a fake history
Fake leaders ( please name 1 Palestinian leader before 1967? Please name their flag, their currency, and mention in any history books of a Palestinian authority.... dont try as you will not find any, you will find many many many jewish mentions as again palestine name was given to jewsih israel by the Romans when they conquered israel, and this is located at the greek and all of the European history books by the way.)
And that at the 1990 we made peace with jordan and gave them control of Israeli western wall , our har habait , and they called it Al Aqza and we made peace with jordan.
Ans in 1994, we signed the oslo agreement, and by that, we formally established the Palestinian authority in judea and samaria and gaza
But in 2005, we decided we dont want to control gaza anymore, so we just got out from there ( search it up)
And gaza had thier democratic elections in 2007 2009 2005
And you who they choose ? Hamas terror organization
That made his goal to eradicate any jewish people and kill and conquered israel completely, and they too hate america European and any Western society
So there is no single.israeli citizen or soldier inside of the gaza strip until now
So guys, open your mined before you listen to any one sided propaganda
The moment the arab mother's will love their kids more than love to kill jewish kids
Then there will be real peace, untill than israel.will have to defend itself from this animals in the same level as isis

If Hamas attacks Israel and causes a bit of damage, and maybe 100 deaths, Israel always over reacts and destroys large areas occupied by Palistinians and kills thousands of Palistinians. I am glad that Jesus Christ came to teach us that what matters is in our hearts, it is about love for each other, and not just following the Old Testament law, and outer show during worship like the Pharisees did. This is always a question that has not really an answer. Every single ramadan in Palestine it feels like Palestinians are afraid of their own holy month because they know whats going to happen. And its heartbreaking. It feels like a clockwork for the isreal militairy. I just hope Palestine keeps fighting of what has taken away from them. Not just their land but family and friends and citizens. Let this be a Historical evidence to hear their voices.

Who and what would you see replace him? Hamas? Islamic Jihad? I think the biggest problem for the Palestinians has been their repeated use of violence in a situation where violence especially from them given the relative military strengths cannot prevail and their constant refusal to accept a reasonable peaceful political solution - i.e. to make necessary compromises in order to get _something_ even if they'll never get everything they want. They should have accepted the Oslo Accords and taken them seriously or taken the later peace deals offered by Olmert & Clinton. They kind of reverse haggling themselves into getting offfered less and less each time after turning down previous generous peace offers. Their leadership keeps making poor decisions and their people have been too indoctrinated with hate-filled propaganda to accept that they have to learn to share with a Jewish state & Israelis who they are going to need to live in some sort of peace with eventually.

    • @tahajbara2024

@@platylobiumobtuseangulum1607 the oslo accords were violated by Israel since their inception with the separation barriers, demolition of Palestinian houses in areas A and B, occupation and settlement in areas B. Then there was the the "deal of the century" by Trump and Netanyahu which was a Swiss cheese map due to all the illegal Israeli settlements, no Palestinian control of any travel, interconnected highways controlled by you guessed it Israelis with trigger happy fingers. As the commentator mentioned in this video, Israel is strategically expanding brick by brick which we see today. Now from a business standpoint why would Israel offer any legitimate peace agreement when their way of taking over is clearly working for them. Any peace negotiation would mean that both parties have to compromise something but we just don't see this with Israel. In fact they are always gaining more and Al Aqsa has always been on the agenda.
Respectfully, I am a muslim and would love to see peace between my Jewish cousins. My name is Vedran, I come from Croatia and now I will GIVE YOU THE ULTIMATE, FINAL PROOF THAT JESUS CHRIST IS KING/SON/GOD.
NO ONE HAS REALIZED THIS UNTIL NOW. (THANKS TO THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR THE REVELATION)
Jesus Christ died for our sins.
The Jews were saved by God's commandments, but from material death,
god then punished people who worshiped false "gods" with death, but with MATERIAL death, not with final judgment.
the final judgment/judgment comes when the second Coming of Jesus comes.
      So let me repeat:
The Jews were saved by God's commandments, but from material death, not from the final judgment because everyone has sinned and no one can come to the Father in his kingdom.
      Example; ISAIAH 6:1-7
"In the year in which King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a high and exalted throne, and his lap filled the Temple.
Above him stood the seraphim, each with six wings: with two they covered their face, and with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew.
And they shouted to each other and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts! The whole earth is full of his glory!"
And the doorposts shook at the voice of him who shouted and the House was filled with smoke.
((This is a very important part)).
Then I said: "Woe is me, because I have failed! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a nation of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!"
On Tuesday, one of the seraphim flew to me; in his hand was an ember that he had taken from the altar with tongs.
And with them he touched my mouth and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips: and your iniquity is removed, and your sin is cleansed."
      ........
      ........
Someone has to redeem us, it can't be burnt offerings because it's not a big enough sacrifice, it can't be wood, it can't be animals
they cannot be other people either because we have all sinned, we are all in Adam.
You have to be a man who has been perfect all his life, without a single sin.
So we need a righteous person, and as we know, no one is perfect except God himself.
one should be a man who is perfect, but only God is perfect, so God was born in the body of an innocent woman
(if you say it's not, you're blaspheming GOD because nothing is impossible for God)
He was born through the chosen people so that all who believe may be saved and not condemned
      John 3:16
Because God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Al-Aqsa is actually not mentioned in the Quran - the far Mosque would actually have been in Istanbul and not Jerusalem.
Israel became more religious in the past 30 years. Thats why temple mount gets more attention from the israeli people. In 1967 israel was much less religious - thats why the agreement with Jordan was made.

I understood that before the conflict the Al Aqsa Mosque was in Saud Arabia. It was only changed to Jerusalem to support the Arab Palestinian narrative that Jerusalem was always an Arab city. The Quaran never mentions Jerusalem even once while the Jewish Bible older than both Christian and Islamic text mention it 600 times. The Arch in Rome is the bragging rights of the Roman takeover of Jerusalem and the sacking of the Temple.

When the Quran was revealed to Mohamed Istanbul was not a muslim country/city. As to Al-Aqsa, it is indeed mentioned in the Quran Surah Israa Aya 1: Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa (الأقصى in the original version of which Al-aqsa is a transliteration), whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. If you trace the tangent of the Israelis, then it shows that there just foreigner and European. The very Jewish people of today, can their lineage be found in time back to Jacob and his 12 children? the answer is very simple, no except for few in their numerous, not even in their population perhaps. The historical Palestine which is a Zionist state today, there was once a time habitant of the true Jews who were descendants of Jacob and his 12 children. Therefore, arguably and presumably, the Arabs has more right than the Jews who are from Europe and colonised and invaded the Palestine.
