I bought the 10th gen a couple of days ago after using my 6th gen for the last couple of years. I personally think that it was the best choice as I plan to use this for taking notes and I already have the first apple pencil. It is true that you could get the refurbished ipad air 4 with laminated display but being on a budget it was better for me because I don’t have to buy a new pen. And everyone keeps saying how bad it is to charge the pencil with an adapter but they forget how it was before? I think it is better to charge with a cable plus adapter instead of plugging the pen into the ipad, i was always scared to move the ipad because the pencil was fragile while charging plugged in. Plus the non laminated display is so unnoticeable for the normal user in comparison to my 6th gen. All in all I can’t agree with all the negative comments about this ipad.

I’m in an almost identical situation except for the fact that I was upgrading from a iPad 8.
I bought this 10th Gen iPad for my 9 year old son, he doesn’t use the Apple Pencil, he doesn’t need a keyboard, he watching movies and streams media, listens to Spotify, plays call of duty mobile with his PS5 controller. He really loves this iPad, this iPad is for kids and basic users, it’s not intended for power users or people that needs more from an iPad 😁 great video.

I had a 10th gen iPad th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA . Felt it getting pretty slow at times even after doing a reset. So I am using that as a tablet for my 5 year old son and got this 9th gen version. MUCH faster, a little slimmer, smaller bezels, all around a leap forward. Plus, for the price that’s about $130-$150 cheaper than a current new model this is a nice deal. I look forward to the M-series CPUs coming into iPads which will really help future proof these tablets better but these latest CPUs are pretty strong and should do better to last several years with no compromises.
I think your 10th gen iPad had a defect in your device or wasn't original from Apple since the 10th gen iPad, has a larger display, smaller bezels, a faster and more powerful chip, and a better rear camera than the 9th gen iPad. It can also record 4K videos, supports Touch ID on the top button, and uses USB-C instead of Lightning. It is worth the extra money if you want to enjoy these features and have a future-proof device.
Thank you. You did an excellent job with this product review. For a High School student or College student, I would highly recommend the new basic iPad 10th generation. With the primary reasons being the style and look of device (in this age group peer pressure is a real thing), the USB port (for extra storage drives and SD cards support), and for the front facing video camera. However, for everybody else, I would suggest doing what, I did and save money by buying the basic iPad 9th generation (it still has a headphone jack, home button, and supports Apple's "center stage" function), and, I paired it with Logitech's Combo Touch keyboard/case and it cost half the price of Apple's keyboard (smile...smile).

I love this guy! So much information and with a good POV. You deserve more subs. I have been wanting to buy an iPad for work and media consumption. I was narrowed down my options to the 10th gen iPad, iPad mini, and iPad Air 4. With all your comments and suggestions regarding these iPads, I think I am gonna go with the 10th gen iPad. I’m fine with using a 3rd party stylus and with the non-laminated screen. Again thank you for helping me with making a decision.

Its a Joke just buy the Air 4 for the same/less money !! Apple Pe cil 2 support and laminated display are very useful for writing.
Or buy the 2021 e furnished iPad Pro for the same price 😊
Or even 2018 iPad Pro refurbished
1. it’s the same amount of money
2. I use video call a lot so the camera move was a amazing choice by Apple.
3. I don’t think anyone realized that the only thing that everyone is saying that it is such a “HORRIBLE DEVICE” is because of the Apple Pencil thing like really. If your not using Apple Pencil this is a way better device and a,so if I am correct I don’t think the iPad Air 4 has 4 speakers I might be wrong tho.
4. It’s charging the Apple Pencil like really. It’s not that hard and it take like 1-2 minutes to charge it like . So iPad Air 4 is a worse option in my opinion.
@@miacaputo7095 It’s not a horrible device. That’s never a fair thing to say about it. It’s an iPad, they’re all good. For the techie’s sake, of course they’ll call it terrible because of what it lacks compared to what they want it to have. It’s just poor value, unless that camera placement makes that big of a difference. It’s mainly the fact that for a similar price you can get an arguably better iPad, that has the features that most thought were a given on the 10th generation. (Especially now that they increased the price). It’s just frustrating seeing that big of a price increase on the “base iPad”, yet it’s missing essentials that are on every other iPad in the lineup.

i think the ipad 10th gen is the best for students because its almost identical with the air especially if ur just gonna buy a knock off apple pencil 2nd gen and ur just gonna place the pencil on ur ipad case instead of buying the 1st gen pencil with the adaptor.
If this had apple 2 pencil support this would be amazing but it’s also almost the exact price of a IPad Air 4

Hey can you confirm that iPad 10 gen upper speakers have low sounds or they just dnt work? Is anyone facing same issue? Although I can feel the vibration from these speakers with low sound but not sure please confirm
I have mixed feelings about this year's baseline iPad 10. Personally, I think the better option would be the M1 iPad Air or a second-hand M1 iPad Pro.
I’m a big fan of refurb devices - but I know a lot of people feel much more comfortable with a new device + full warranty

Wish I could find a good quality case (to last me till I change my IPad again), but most of the ones I find here in Brazil have this same clear back you showed!! Got the new (at the time lol) IPhone 6s for my 15th birthday (a huge thing for Latin girls ahah), and my mistake was getting a clear case… It turned yellow a couple of months after my purchase… I’m not the type of person to collect cases, but I do think it can be useful having a few options for different reasons! I got a clear (yes) one just bc my IPad is about to arrive, it was the fastest I could get and I didn’t want my device to be on it’s own, but also it has no screen cover (planning to use it at home). Now I’m looking for one to bring it with me to class/ travels, so I saw one which I can use both vertical and horizontal ways (and I presume it can be quite helpful) but I totally dislike the fact that it has a HOLE on the Apple logo part! If I could only find a normal looking case that I could use on both of these modes! Tks for the video btw 😂👊🏼
Zugu cases are quite nice, cost a bit more but last a while, premium materials and durability is also good

Pencil !!! Why not accept in a store old gen. 1 pencil and upgraded it so … we can reduce e-waste and now they can only use 1 type of pencil !!!.

No - there’s not a magnet there, at least not on this version of the case. Hopefully they make one with it
I am a computer science undergrad in need of iPad 10th gen only for the purpose of note-taking and as a secondary device apart from my laptop. Is it a good choice to choose USB-C type pencil over 1st gen apple pencil?
If your not a drawing artist then yes
Why do you need to buy a new adapter? The OG apple pencil already has an adapter in the box. The OG Apple Pencil comes with a Female lightning to Female Lightning adapter so you don’t have to charge it directly into the iPad, it also comes with an additional tip
You need USB-C to pair the iPad with the pencil, but then you can charge it however you want after that. I’ll have to check later today to see if you could use USB-C to lightning + the original lighting-to-lightning adaptor. But I’m not sure
I have a question as a Student is the apple pencil/ stylus a deal breaker for buying an ipad?
The Apple Pencil works amazing with ipads. If your an artist or notetaker, you’ll love it. Most ppl prefer the 2nd gen, it’s more convient when it comes to charging. Keep in mind apple pencils are expensive.
Can you use the lightning adapter that came with the old 1st gen Apple Pencil?? I don’t want to have to use a $9 dongle.
Edit: Thank you for the replies. What's super annoying is that the USB-C adapter isn't even available until a week after the iPad comes out so I can't even use my pencil until then... (iPad is arriving tomorrow)
you need to use the new dongle otherwise you can´t pair your pen to the ipad 10th :(
Viktor is correct - that adaptor can be used for charging, but not for pairing it to your iPad. It’s silly
with the price in other countries ,,,,,,, just don't see the value in this thing, also i don't think budget is a fair phrase for the amount that this tablet is and the amount of features it lack, it looks great but this thing is not budget .The case is really nice kinda perfect actually
Just get an air 4/5...not sure what were they thinking with the 10th...

I have a question. I'm a student and I would like to buy me my first Ipad with keyboard and a pencil. There's just one thing and that is the price... I really do want the hole experience but I don't want to spend a lot of money. So my question is which ipad should I buy the best now? Should I go for 64gb or 256gb?
Hii i have some things to say to you, so first what ipad r u planning to buy? if you go out alot then i recomend the ipad mini if your staying in one place then 9th gen is good. if your workload is writing essays then u should go for the keyboard but if ur workload is more of drawing and writing then a pencil. 64 gb is what i would get but again WORKLOAD so if ur ipad will be your main study buddy then 256gb will be the best for u.

True! I typically bring up the Crayon, weird that I didn’t here. Though it still is 3x the cost of the stylus I recommended, but roughly the same quality

WHAT usb hub are you using .. im trying to find one online for iPad 10 right now and NO ONE on planet earth has provided a single video or text online form anything any answer to what usb dongles or hubs even work with iPad 10 I’m not even joking I’ve been googling and YouTubing for like 6 hours with 0 answers

Honestly the pencil thing that everyone talks about is not a big of a deal. Many tablets don't even support a pencil and most of the ones that do don't have the feautures the apple pencil haves..
Most tablets that a student would be considering (essentially just iPad and Galaxy Tab) support the pencil and the Galaxy Tab has arguably more features

This IPad 10 is a worldwide joke lol… Here in Brazil ppl Ik just keep on buying/ planning to buy the IPad 9, the IPad Air 5 (or even the 4) and (those who can) the IPad 12.9 M1… Considering these 4 options (for different reasons/ in different points) there’s basically no point in getting an IPad 10!

Acutually I was really really looked forward to new iPad. but it's a bit disappointed. however, the colors are so stunning 😭 espeically pink! it's awesome🫣 and I like relocated front camera. It's really useful for zoom meetings. I'm really confused now. Should I buy it? Is it worthy to buy?

For me I’m going to get this bec I wanted a cheaper iPad but a bigger screen, so def something in between iPad9 and Air5. And I will just use it for browsing, watching vids and not for productivity/art. So it really depends on what you’ll be using it for. If it’s for productivity/art/school, no question get the iPad Air! 😁
