You know what's depressing? Sometime after Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2's release, Activision dropped Vicarious Visions as a subsidiary and placed them under Blizzard's parentage, where they would later be renamed to Blizzard Albany. Earlier this year, Tony Hawk himself confirmed that they were working on THPS 3+4 before this transition happened, and that the game was canceled as a result.
What happened was that Blizzard was bleeding talent and the awful Warcraft 3 remaster convinced Activision to scrap that team. Activision then shuffled Vicarious Visions to take over the Diablo 2 remaster and install Vicarious's leadership as new coleaders of Blizzard. It's more a move to help salvage Blizzard than to screw over VV.
Depressing indeed. I was sceptical when 1+2 came out because I was still reeling from how bad THPS5 was but I bought every single TH game so I got 1+2 as well and was more than positively surprised, it was absolutely amazing. The possibility of 3+4 being remade as well kept me exited for a franchise that I thought had died a long time ago but now this.. 🤦🏻♀️ I really hope Microsoft will do something with it when/if they acquire Activision. THPS4 is still one of my favourites, I still play it on GameCube at least once a year, seeing it and 3 remade would be so damn awesome.
Plants vs Zombies 2 is actually a very good game, if you can find a way to get past the microtransactions. Luckily there is a modded version of the game that simultaneously removes the microtransactions and adds more to the game called "PvZ2: Reflorished." It shows how the core of Plants vs Zombies is still present in the game, just buried by anti-consumer business decisions.
Microtransactions aren't even that prominent besides in the store tab, it is easy to just ignore them and have fun with the game. Some mods can shake up the gameplay but the base game itself is fun.
I find microtransactions to be absolutely unacceptable, it doesn't matter if they are prevalent in a game or not. They are a disgusting business practice that should've never taken off in the first place. Video games shouldn't get a pass from the public just because they're still good or fun. Anyone can find any game engaging to play, that's one thing. But it's another thing entirely when monetization mechanics are present in a game, because microtransactions are still microtransactions, and it's no secret that the majority of PvZ2 is littered with them alongside paywalls and pay-to-win elements. Just because you can play it and beat it for free doesn't mean the game isn't littered with specific game design elements that force you to cave-in and buy the microtransactions just to progress a little faster. Casual players being complacent with that kind of terrible game design is why mobile gaming is as horrible as it is. And while it's nice that there's a mod out there that fixes the game to remove those sorts of monetization elements and gives re-balancing to it to show everyone that it indeed can work really well, it should've been made like that from the start by it's original developers. It's like Project 06 fixing up the massive glaring flaws of the original Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), because while it is good and it is making the game actually enjoyable to play through without the annoying glitches or limitations of the original title, it doesn't change the fact that that original game still exists and that it turned out the way it did. It's something I will never forget, and neither something I will forgive SEGA for.
@@superplayerex2431 There are over 100 premium plants in PvZ2. Not going to look up the split between how many are earnable, how many are cash only, but still.
Mario Party 9 was a rough one for me. My friends and I loved playing the first 8, but the gameplay changes to 9 (especially the car everyone rode together in) were just too much. It was a different game at that point.
I feel that nine at least had a bit of style, great minigames (especially their boss games) and some stategy. Where things got really rough was with the rest of the soulless bull💩 ND cube has been making. With 10 being the absolute low point! Awful minigames, bland boards, sterile menus, and that Amibo feature.... Yikes!
If you don't compare Mario Party 9 to the other titles in the series, it's actually not that bad. I'll be honest, the linear boards are boring af, but the minigames and shorter game modes are actually pretty fun
9 ruined Mario Party. It hasn't been the same since. Even superstars despite being the top 100 we should have gotten from the start suffers from only having 4 boards and all of them are from the n64 era rather than a mixture (doesn't help I have no nostalgia for that era, I started with 4.) which feels half hearted.
@@Superluigi881 It's ever since he wii party company took over. It really feels like they're doing the bare minimum and selling on brand recognition. Superstars was prerry great though! Missed a big unlockeable board and a minigame island/coaster like mode. But overall solid enough that I can reccomend it to everyone! Hope they keep this up, make better boards and content. (BEcause those damn lucky spaces ruined yoshi's tropical island in this one, and Bowser should've been more ruthless!)
Making up a mechanic about PVZ2 having premium plants rented for real money and then following it up with 'this is some deadass bullshit' is one of the most hilariously ironic things I've heard in quite some time.
I just watched your video today, and yes I agree on everything you said. I feel like the meme “When I purposefully spread misinformation on the internet” is at full swing right now.
I think I played it on Xbox for over 1000 hours. One of the best online MP games, imo. I bet if EA didn't F with the launch it would have been a lot better, tho.
Truth. Gave me and my boys lots of fun times since we didnt start playing until after all that drama happened. We walked into a damn near perfect game, and a month after starting, we got new story dlc- was very surprised.
You know what's really sad? That most of the worst games are presented due to monetization or developmental issues, and not gameplay issues. For some reason, that really speaks towards the types of games we're getting these days.
Yep. No longer can we point out the flaws in the game, such as how difficult Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels was to the first game, or how Super Mario USA (Super Mario Bros. 2 here in NA) was too different from the first game. Instead, we complain about the microtransactions in the games, which are totally just complaints. I saw when games slowly received DLC content for a small fee, but now much of the important content in these games are locked behind paywalls that make games unplayable, especially with many games already costing you money just to play them to begin with. The worst part is that most of these companies will never learn their lesson, because people actually invest in these shady tactics more often than not. It sucks that even Nintendo has begun to release half-assed games, & drip-feed the rest of the content we want through the months & years. Now, we're seeing them release $30 CAN DLC for a 5 year old remaster of an 8 year old Wii U game? This is shameful.
19:06 yeah no PvZ 2 only added rentable plants years after the game pretty much ended with modern day, and not only that but those rentable plants are free, you don’t spend a single dime for them you instead have to watch an AD for them Btw forgot to mention, but if you notice he only ever uses footage of the old version of the game, interesting Not only that but doesn’t mention much about PvZ 3 besides “people didn’t like the original version” He never mentions the fact it got entirely remade after the backlash, though it’s still not very good
I can't believe you're one of those "EA bad PopCap good" types of people. Everyone has their own opinions, but saying that it's EA's fault if PvZ2 is the "worst sequel of all time"? Really man? You can easily beat the entire Adventure mode without spending a single penny. "If you want to experience the full game, you're going to have to spend a lot of money"? Flat out lies. If you want to support the game and/or buy a plant for some more fun, then you are free to do so, but it's not obligatory at all. The renting plants thing you were talking about is also totally wrong. You can either buy a plant with real money and keep it FOREVER or rent a random plant (from a selection of 3 randoms) at the start of a level by watching 1 ad. Do your research. Don't let the nostalgia you had with PvZ1 ruin your experience with PvZ2.
Yeah look at the Fiery Joker he did top 10 EA fails. They Dante Inferno on Insulting Christian and other religions types so that a bad move on EA don't even think about defending EA.
Jirard may have taken a fat L here, but nah, it's totally valid to hate a game if it's designed around microtransactions and other predatory monetization mechanics. That stuff should not be in games - period. Oh, well, at least there's a mod out there that fixes the game up, so maybe we can at least have that.
@Absolutionist Good luck grinding for months on end just to get to the end... Just because microtransactions are optional, doesn't mean that this is still a good thing for them to be in the game in the first place. You either get rid of them or your game is not worth playing, end of discussion.
His PvZ2 section is his Bioshock 2 video all over again. Spreading blatant misinformation like it’s candy on Halloween. Both that one, and this video have gotten backlash for a very good reason.
@@Makingajessinmypants It is also from his memory, and trying to figure out misremembered details from things that have been changed in the years since then can be hard to parse. Like the rented plants bit: misremembered detail about the game giving access to locked or premium plants early/for a level (as a taster kind of thing), then revoking access to the plant.. either until they are unlocked properly, or bought. Either case, doesn't feel good.
@@flashergoldpower15 From what I've been told, essentially the entire staff of popcap had left or been replaced by/during development, so...not really popcap anymore at that point, yeah?
Self proclaimed "free thinkers" when you ask them what ruined Plants vs. Zombies 2 (it's always greedy EA with their dumb and stupid microtransactions that PopCap totally had absolutely no verdict over):
Damnit Jirard, I almost forgot about Force Unleashed 2. I'm still stuck at 98% because of that one platforming extra. Years and years later, this level still taunts me!
FU2 was a game I adored as a kid, so I wasn't sure why everyone hated it. I guess it's important to have the context of the first game to judge the second fairly. It's not a good sequel, but it's a really fun game.
ea is just the publisher, the microtransactions are on popcap, EA IS JUST THE PUBLISHER. also theres so many ways to get around microtransactions, not to mention mods. pvz2 is a great game, and a great sequel.
Saying PvZ2 has temporary paywall plants is just a straight up lie, there is nothing like that at all in the game. In modern versions you can rent a premium plant by watching an ad but there is no paywall plant renting. Also I don't know why you claim PvZ2 has lock and key design as being something bad, because that's also not true, and it's quite ironic you don't like it here but PvZ1's entire gameplay loop is you are given a plant to then counter a zombie that is introduced.
Misremembering, combined with (iirc) a line from crazy dave that implies it as a system. He probably played it 6-8 years ago..details get muddied, especially when, iirc, the game had like 3 currencies plus microtransactions. And I was going through the wiki for the game, and yeah, a lot of the first few worlds, they like to give you a plant for a level, then take it away. I think the first time this happens, dave says he's lending the seeds to you, though perhaps not. Either way, you have access to a plant you don't have yet; when the level is over, you don't have access to it anymore. It really didn't feel good.
@@MustacheOnMars9 oh, so the wiki is wrong? You don't get access to say... the kernal-pult, wintermelon, and melon-pult early, then have access revocked? Nor are given access to the huri-kale (a premium plant) for 2 levels?

Well here I am! Defending pvz2 once again! For like, the 700th time... The main game, the campaign,is fun and you can complete it without even opening the shop, but if you did,the gem plants are totally free and you can get the seed plants for free when they are in the arena Also,a lot of the shit added to the campaign, like the rentable plants or unlocking a plant even before getting to that world IS bulshit, but it was added like half a year ago and you can just...not use it And sure, there are like 20 or so plants behind a paywall, but half of them are pretty bad and none of them are needed to have fun with the game! Sure,if you have the money (and a skill issue),buy them. but if you don't,you're not going to die The fact that it's only on mobile is shitty and I have nothing to say about away from: bluestacks, you can use that if you want The garden warfare series is fucking great and there's nothing you cannot get without paying, and sometimes it's way more fun to get the things normally than buying them (yes I'm looking at you torchwood and hovergoat)
PvZ2 is possible without spending money, power ups, plant food, lawn mowers so you just suck. Also when you actually buy a plant IT'S NOT TEMPORARY, you literally have it for all your profiles. Actually me and many other people liked pvz2 more than pvz1
Haha so true, really funny when this guy just talkin' about like PvZ 2 being P2W or something, even though there are many people who doing a challenge on PvZ 2 rn (probably)...
I like how this man uses extremely old pvz 2 footage and makes the false assumption that you need to play money to rent a plant. You do not. Also, I’ve played for over a year and I have all free plants and almost half of the premium plants, and I’ve never payed a PENNY. Almost all mobile games are pay to win now, it’s just a fact of life. Maybe try playing the game and getting reliable sources before saying it’s “the worst sequel ever”
You don't Pay in PvZ2 For a Plant and then it goes away, that's not how Games (the good ones) Work. since the game release a lot of plants were Only available via Purchase, but now they are Removing that so you can get Plants by getting a Specific Currency when playing the game to unlock that specific plant, yeah not all of those plants were reworked that way, but the game has an insane amount of plants at this point and you aren't going to use all of them anyways so who cares for a Plant You can only can get By Wasting Money
There is no game out there that feels quite like lightning returns. I think there is something to appreachiate there and i hope jirard will be able to see it if he makes those videos.
I do agree I would love to see a video on them, I loved them. I do agree though the main story quest wasn't the best and it sucks that you had to play through it to level up. Otherwise the combat and bosses are top notch in my opinion.
I think the only good game in the trilogy was the first. 13-2 fixed it’s gameplay but sacrificed the story in the process. 13 had such a perfect ending that the simple idea of a sequel made me rage back in the day. 13-3 is… bad. Like “we made this game in under a year and the script was just finished a month ago” bad. The one thing holding the original 13 back was orphan. If he had more of a presence or if the game just had a better villain it would have more then likely been on par with FF 12 or something. But no, 13-2 & 13-3 can go burn in hell for making me waste my time and money.
As someone who has been playing the game since 2016 and still is very active today, the entire PvZ2 part is misinformation. EA is not the culprit behind the microtransactions. The creator of the game, George Fan, implemented them himself in order to milk money out of his successful franchise on his own, not because of EA. There is no feature that allows you to buy a plant for a limited amount of time. All purchases are permanent unless you somehow lose your account. The closest thing there is to that in the game is a feature just introduced a few months ago, know as Rent-a-Plant, where you can watch an ad to use a plant that you don't have for a level, while gaining progress to unlocking it. Additionally, not all of the paid plants are exclusive counters. For example, explorer zombies can be countered by any winter-mint/freezing/slowing plant, and any zombie can pop balloons, not just cactus. Also, the game is really different from when it was released. With all of the new plants, many of the premium plants now are less useful and are outclassed because of power creep. Those new plants do not require money, and can be rather easily obtained through limited events or the aforementioned Rent-a-Plant feature. Also, all of the footage used was from the 2014-2015 era. You clearly need to revisit this game after all of this time, instead of talking about it and not knowing how it is like.
The pvz2 part just straight up a bunch of lies. Do your research more careful man. U can beat the game with free plant , not that many thing need money to unlock. And what are those pvz2 clip on the video , r u in 2013 or what, very bad information about the game for a quite big TH-camr.😐
Pvz2 definitely doesn’t do that, at least not still but I’ve been playing it since around when it came out and never remember it being that way, and the plants you can buy can now be unlocked slowly over time and aren’t necessary to win. I understand it being a low pick because it does have micro transactions, but #1?
I also feel the need to defend pvz2 - I spent six bucks on a couple of plants after PopCap / EA gave me what felt like hundreds of hours of free and fun gameplay
agreed jirad complained about a game which he only saw the surface of and never even replayed (although im assuming this from what he said in the video)
Literally everything in regards to PvZ2 was wrong. You don't temporarily buy rentable plants with real money, you watch an ad. That's different. PopCap was going to add microtransactions and premium plants from the very beginning long before they sold themselves to PopCap, they've said this before. EA only publish and fund the games, and PopCap employees have come out and said that they still have full creative and financial control over all their games, including microtransactions. EA haven't affected a damn thing about the PvZ franchise, other than allowing PvZ to become a franchise in the first place and causing PopCap to not go bankrupt. EA didn't go out and buy PopCap. PopCap sold themselves to EA because they were going bankrupt. There's a difference between a bigger company buying a smaller company, and a smaller company putting themselves on sale. The PvZ3 Beta you showed in the video doesn't even exist anymore, and is two years old. That game was abandoned a long time ago, and was replaced with a much better looking (but still mixed) PvZ3 prototype. Jirad, I suggest playing the games and researching properly before going out and spreading false information on PvZ2. Most of the things you said were outright false. To be honest I'm surprised you didn't start going off saying EA fired George Fan for not liking MTXs even though Fan himself has claimed that it's false, because by the way you were going I wouldn't be surprised if you brought it up.
@@DOGEreal I’d agree on the story mode, but the other modes would have to be a ehh. The only major problem I have with PvZ 2 beyond that would be the lacking amount of plant to level ratio.
I'm sorry Jirard but your take of pvz2 is straight out 100% crap First of all no Renting plants are used by watching an ad if you want to use the premium plant permanently you can purchase it and you'll keep it forever 2. You can beat the game without spending a single dime 3. You showed footage of the 2013 version of the game making us think you didn't play the game at all 4. All worlds can be unlocked by progression not money last but not least Ea didn't add the monetization on the game popcap did since the beginning. And also you're showing the old beta pvz 3 so you made your points even worse seriously dude all you did is throwing massive amounts of misinformation on the game to make the game look worse not cool jirard not cool
I've pretty much beaten PVZ2 & never spent a penny You have to unlock plants by progressing through the main story worlds there are a LOT of additional plants unobtainable unless you spend real money but the new ones from the story worlds are pretty cool i especially like all the new mushrooms from the haunted world, and stuff from the future world (both are free)
@@_korbo_ No, we would like to pay for the game... and have money never come up as a point in the conversation involving the game again. And to the OP comment, I think he was misremembering an aspect: early in the game, it really loves to give you a set list of seeds for a level, including seeds you don't have, then revoke access to that seed after that level. Sometimes you would unlock it later in teh world (sometimes like 20 levels later), sometimes they're in teh store. Either way, it doesn't say, and it certainly didn't feel good.
@@stevenn1940 Clearly you’ve never actually played the game considering that’s a straight up lie. No idea what you mean by “revoking access to that seed”. Also there’s about 70 adventure plants, 60 seedium plants, and 22 plants that cost real money. If you think 22 is a lot, then idk what to tell you considering most of them aren’t even that good.
@@stevenn1940 That's a level objective where you have to beat a level with a specific plant deck. It's not revoking anything, most of the time it makes you use plants you already have. The few times it doesn't, it's a level you can try out plants you don't have for just that level. Nothing about them revokes anything. In fact, quite the opposite - you get temporary access to something you don't have.
@@olivercharles2930 Then how are the people who are letting you play the game, FOR FREE, may I add, going to earn money? If paying is SUCH a hassle, be grateful that the people who made the game are letting you play the game at all without you paying.
Can't say I'm too surprised at PvZ2 being here, given what Jirard's said in his pvz1 video, but the clear lack of knowledge about the game and just spreading misinformation as a result is not helping anybody. The game can be played just fine without paying for anything, even in the most recent versions. Rentals are done through ads, not cash and nothing necessary is hidden behind a paywall. PvZ3's changed a lot since the beta shown as well.
Even with the newer PvZ3 beta, it still looks awful and it doesn't seem like Popcap will change their mind about the direction the franchise is going in.
After taking a look at the wiki and reconciling my memories, I think he misremembered aspects, since he played it when/close to when it launched (which was... a long while ago, looking. Wow, been a while.) plus the game did a very poor job of explaining things, implying systems that weren't there (like the rental). The game loved to give you access to plants you didn't have yet for a particular level, then take them away the next level (and I think crazy dave made a comment about loaning them to use, implying a system). No explanation taht you'll unlock it later in the world, or that it's in the shop. Oh, wait, there is a rental system? Ok, well, it was literally never mentioned on the wiki. Lovely. Plus there's, what, 3 different kinds of currency? Plus things you can buy directly with money? Well, hard to blame someone for not being able to keep it straight.
@@Jakewebmaster8 I don't think he was making that point. He was explaining how jirad used older footage which is another example on how he did little to no research.

Maybe pick games that are more focused on actual gameplay over the company trying to be greedy. Because most of the reasons you placed these games were for the same reason.
These are also big games, games plastered everywhere when they released. Of course games ruined by greed are gonna be higher than games that just wasn't good enough.
Perhaps, but basically none of the team behind PvZ1 was involved with PvZ2, so it wasn't really even popcap at that point either. Only Laura Shigihara (music for both), and George Fan (game design in first game, only a voice actor in the second) worked on both games.. So, popcap wasn't really popcap anymore.

Marvel vs Capcom also showed how important the cell shading really was for the models. You can't just reuse the same models, change the shading and expect it to look good. It really shows with the dlc characters cause they look way better than the base characters. Probably cause they were made from scratch and made for that shader
Yeah, it's kind of sad that the entire MvCI development budget was the same as one season of SFV DLC, essentially forcing the reuse of assets from MvC3U to keep costs down but without the comicbook shading the characters looked fucking awful. It also didn't help Marvel were on the 'no X-men!' kick at the time because they were trying to bury X-men to get the movie license back from Fox (hence why Inhumans were getting a massive push as a replacement for X-men), which meant no fan favorite characters like Wolverine or Magneto. Then there's the infamous 'characters are just functions' from one of the devs (which a lot of people now think was him trying to avoid burning Disney by straight up saying "Disney said we couldn't include Xmen" so invented an excuse which made the Dev team sound out of touch). So combine 'lack of investment from Capcom' plus 'overbearing Disney' plus 'removing the 3v3 for infinite stones' = Game that has great gameplay but looks rough AF and just upsets longterm fans. It had an anti-hype train where no matter what, it was going to fail. As mentioned it didn't help that DBFZ was release the same year and had basically traditional MvC gameplay with a lot of MvC Vets switching over to it and it taking MvCs spot at EVO as well.
I hate the fact that people say “EA=bad Popcap=good without doing any research, if hey did, they would discover the fact that wow It was Popcap’s decision to add in micro transactions. And trashing the game even though it’s arguably worth the ads for the experience
PvZ2 is still just as easy to pick up and play as the first. It’s hilarious how you talk about hating when companies just profit off nostalgia when you literally come across as someone who’s nostalgia for PvZ1 makes you unable to see the brilliance of the sequel. “In order to experience the full game you’re going to have to pay” THAT’S A LITERAL LIE. You don’t need to spend a. Single. Dime. To play the hours of content the game has to offer. “Oh no, rentable plants” who fucking cares. It’s plants, that barely matters. None of the levels are locked behind a paywall. The amount of content it has is insane for a mobile game and yet so many people can’t see past “ughhh mIcRoTrAnSacTions” like they’ve played it for 5 minutes back in 2014 or sth. This has been debunked again and again and again and yet this stigma continues to be propagated. Extremely frustrating.
Oh yeah, and rentable plants *don't even exist.* You can BUY plants, you always could, and on later versions of the game you can rent, but for either ads or a bit of ingame currency (which isn't hard to obtain might i add). You can definitely tell he played 5 minutes of it in 2014 from the footage and everything, and then just didn't bother fact checking the stuff he stated in this video's script, creating this... Questionable, segment. (And on another note, top 1? Above BF2? Are you fucking kidding me?)
Your comment is the prime reason why a "stigma" is being propagated, don't just brush off the terrible microtransactions by just saying “ughhh mIcRoTrAnSacTions” You shouldn't be cheering for companies squeezing the money out of us, it's astonishing how anti-consumer you guys are. We are progressing having to pay more and more for stuff we used to just get pre-packaged and you guys are cheering for that.
@@DaveUnknown well, *I* don't see PvZ 2 that way, though i'm not sure about the original commenter. (the "brilliance" of PvZ 2 and how "insane" it is for a mobile game) But regardless, doesn't feel like it's a matter of cheering shitty companies on, moreso just stating how, at least accounting for the mobile game market, it's not worthy of being worse than games like, yknow, *F&CKING STAR WARS BF2.* Well, and on that it seems like you're trying to push this to how people go passing off infinite DLCs and general microtransactions on 60 (now 70) dollar games, in which case, no, that's a whole 'nother thing.
PvZ2 is a much more financially and more stable and successful game than pvz1. It is literally so stable and well-made that it is the last stick holding the company to stay alive as of today. It brought countless new fans from the mobile ecosystem, much more zombie, musical, world, map and plant content than pvz1, and EA buying it funded Popcap to make all the new worlds plus the modern content and over 150 plants that they made. EA buying Popcap also caused Popcap to have the opportunity to make something really grand, the shooter games, which you completely dismissed and left out just to feed your "EA bad" rampage. I don't like EA's games of Star Wars and FIFA and all that nonsense, but them buying Popcap was the best thing happening to the franchise, because it was falling apart in money management at the time EA bought the company, which you would've discovered if you made an attempt at any research of the company's state. What you said about premium plants being purchasable with real money """"temporarily"""" is complete utter misinformation, misinformation so outlandish and ridiculous that it indicates to the fact that you probably never even touched the game. Plants are purchased permanently when using real money, and many, many premium plants actually became purchasable with seed-packet grinding in the modern online battling system instead of having to spend money on them; the premium plants don't even drastically change your experience because the free ones are just as good and variated and there is 15x more times of free plants compared to premiums. You literally used 2013 footage by the presence of power pinch and lack of turbo button, which says to how outdated your information, views and ideas are about the game. At least have the decency to experience the game itself in the modern day, actually play through what you're ranking. Don't tell me you had this 2013 footage you made yourself prepared for this exact video 9 years later. You also defame the whole game to be just a lock and key puzzle game between countering exact zombies with exact plants, and that plants are hidden behind microtransactions, which is also outright straight up shining high in the sky misinformation, no zombie or plant comes close to this, let alone premium ones, neither do any world mechanics. Disgusting. You aren't a PvZ fan if you just desert the franchise and spread misinformation about it at the sight of reading EA as a publisher, and what you just did with your 1.6mil subscriber influence is just incorrectly shit on the franchise like all the other soulless videos speaking misinformation about the game just because it got EA on the title. Expected better as I know of your content to be well-made and informed. Links shadow banned my previous comment, so whoops! Just look up "The Oral History Of PopCap Games" to find out why they added microtransactions and to discover the fact microtransactions weren't even EA's idea.
I will say that I loved Dead Space 3’s story, specifically how it ended. Games rarely ever go for that style of ending unless there are multiple possible endings.
I loved dead space 3 too. My friend and I flipped out when we realized that he was seeing entirely different things than I was. The story was silky but the gameplay was fun and exciting.
PVZ 2 isn't even that bad wdym I mean, I get opinions are a thing, but everything you said about the game was misinfo. I never payed a single penny for the game and I still enjoy it, like many other people. Also, you literally used 2013 footage! Atleast use newer footage! You know, I expected better from you. Like I always thought that you have a passion for videogames, and you always felt fair for the games you reviewed, which you clearly do, but this is just not fair and unacceptable, please actually do research before talking about a game
One of my worst gaming memories is coming home from GameStop, so excited to play force unleashed 2 on the wii. I boot it up, and finish it later that day, since the game took me about 6 hours. I was so sad and I even remember my mom being a bit annoyed because she felt like I got shortchanged of my money. Game leaves a sour taste in my mouth to this day.
Whats even more sadder was that it was the last major Star Wars game by Lucasarts before it was shut down by Disney, just a few years before we were meant to get Star Wars 1313.
I've only played the Wii version of both games, the first one growing up during like late elementary and middle school, and got 2 a few years later (the Switch was long out by this point but I still play my Wii), and yeah, 2 was rather disappointing. I had a good amount fun with it, but it lacked so many of the features that 1 was packed with, and was so much shorter. Like, I was not expecting the final level to be the final level at all, I was playing through having a pretty enjoyable time and also quite curious about where the story was going and building to, and then suddenly the game ended on a cliffhanger after the fight with Darth Vader and I was like "...wait, that's it? I thought I was only like maybe halfway through the game, we were just getting started!" It was so much shorter and smaller than the first and not nearly as fully baked, and that was just disappointing not just because it didn't live up to the first game, but also because what it DID have I did like quite a bit. I didn't feel like I was monetarily ripped off because I was given it as a present and thus didn't buy it myself lol, but it was still just a bit sad.
I fully agree that the way PVZ 2 implemented microtransactions wasn’t great (Like, $4.99 for a Squash or Snow Pea or whatever is an insane rip-off), but there is some blatantly wrong information about how the microtransactions work/worked. Coming from someone who’s had the game since launch and actually bought a couple of them, none of the Premium Plants (a.k.a the ones you have to spend real money on) are rental based; they’re a one-time purchase that will actually transfer over to your other save files so you don’t have to buy them again (This doesn’t apply to the Plants purchased with Gems or Seed Packets, though. You’ll have to grind them out again). And regarding the fact that the shop Plants are required to counter specific Zombies, that’s also just blatantly untrue. Every Zombie in PVZ2 can be reliably countered by at least one non-Shop Plant, often times more than one. For as fun as PVZ1 is, it is 1000x more guilty of lock-and-key design than PVZ2 (Literally the entire gameplay loop for most of PVZ1’s main campaign is “You get a new plant to counter a Zombie that’s introduced in this level or the level before”). You could make the argument that the Shop Plants make the game easier (And there definitely a lot of OP ones, moreso in the more recent updates but a few of the older Shop Plants are pretty busted as well), but from my experience, beating the game without spending a single dime is beyond manageable. That being said, I do agree with you that PVZ 2 is rather disappointing… in its more recent updates. Microtransactions aside, I’d argue that from 2013-2016, PVZ 2 was just as good as PVZ 1 (Though it suffered from not being ported to PC and other consoles, as well as a lack of side/post-game content compared to the first, which sucks because it did have a decent amount of side/post-game content at launch, only to lose it during the map overhaul). However, starting in 2017, it’s all been downhill. First came the leveling system, which completely fucked with balancing. Then came Arena and Penny’s Pursuit, which in addition to being not very fun, also revealed how poorly optimized the game was and caused a lot of content from the game to be removed (Mainly a couple mini games, all the good Epic Quests, and like half the soundtrack). Then came Thymed Events, which while fun at first, quickly devolved into incredibly short, poorly designed levels. And while this was all happening a bunch of insanely OP Plants were releasing that made the already terrible balancing introduced by the leveling system even worse. So yeah, the game’s been on a downward spiral for like the past 6-ish years. If you want to experience PVZ 2 without microtransactions getting in the way, though, there’s a lot of mods that change that, but most of them stray pretty far away from Vanilla PVZ 2. The mod that’s the closest to Vanilla PVZ 2 is PVZ 2 Reflourished, which aside from balancing changes and new levels, it’s pretty much the same as Vanilla but with zero microtransactions. EDIT: PVZ 2 dickriders in the replies are getting mad that I’m bringing up mods. Sorry that I and probably a few other people want to play a version of PVZ 2 that isn’t being run into the fucking ground by PopCap/EA executives refusing to let the game die to compensate for the fact they refuse to support any of the other currently available PVZ games, but I guess that makes me a “PopCap good, EA bad” shill or whatever. EDIT 2: Yes, I know you’ve been able to get Squash and Snow Pea using Gems for a while now. I just used them as an example since they’re way more iconic to PVZ normies than most of the current premium plants. The point I made with them still stands, regardless of if you purchase them with real money or not (And you probably will end up spending real money on at least few Gem plants anyway due to how insanely grindy the gems are).
Alternatively, for a mod-less experience, grab a 5.0 apk I honestly think the microtransactions are handled pretty fine. They're completely optional, and you aren't missing out on much by not buying them. I do agree that there's A LOT of them, though that stems from the way PvZ2 did it's older updates - Older updates added new worlds (for free I might add) up to the 11 we have now, with about 2 premium plants per update. Even if you refuse to pay a single dime, PvZ2 (at least, older versions) is still one of the best mobile games out there.
Honestly, I've never felt like the microtransactions are really that bad. Sure they're overpriced, but they aren't shoved in your face and easily avoidable. Anyone who says otherwise clearly hasn't played any other mobile game released in the past 13 years.
The main argument behind PvZ2 being bad here isn't even true - yes, there are paid plants, but once you buy them, you own them forever, they aren't locked away later. There is a feature in modern PvZ2 that lets you "rent" a premium plant for a single level - however you do this by watching an ad. I'm not defending the practises, but I expected a bit more research put in, especially since like you mentioned, PvZ2 is a really great game with tons of effort and charm put into it, while the internet just keeps ganging up on it for being a freemium mobile game.
I wholeheartedly disagree with the PvZ2 take. I’ve spent maybe 10$ on the game and that’s just because I wanted to, not because I had to. I’m not going to defend the practices present in the game, but I do disagree with the argument that paying money is mandatory to play this game. Because that’s just really really not true. And the microtransactions that they do have are no more egregious than something like fortnite. Not to mention, the plants really don’t cost all that much money. I always looked at the microtransactions present in this game as enhancements, not mandatory. But that’s just my take, good video as always :)
I swear, every single large youtuber that touches PvZ2 does a total of 25 seconds of research into the topic before making a video acting like they know the series inside-out. I normally quite like your content, but the PvZ2 segment is just... how little have you played the actual game? Even with most of *PopCap's* questionable recent decisions, the game is still mediocre at worst, yet because it contains *optional microtransactions plants (which would not receive nearly as much hate if they were marketed as DLC, I might add)* that aren't essential to progress at all. If someone sucks at the game so much that they're resorting to using Premiums, no amount of Grapeshot or Cold Snapdragon abuse can be enough of a crunch to help them.
I honestly enjoyed Sonic 4, episode 1 was the weak point but I truly enjoyed episode 2. It improved on so many things compared to the first and I was excited for episode 3. But like you said, luckily we got Sonic Mania
I liked Sonic 4 Episodes 1 & 2, too. It felt and controlled a little differently than I was used to. But when I tried to meet the game on its own terms, instead of pretending it was supposed to be exactly like Sonics 1, 2, & 3, I had a lot more fun with it. I wish Sega would remember that it exists and start including it on collections.
These games were originally supposed to be some mobile titles made by Dimps, then SEGA stepped in and said "hey, what if we removed "Mobile" from "Sonic the Hedgehog Mobile" and slapped a "4" in it's place?". Had that not happened and these games not been called "Sonic 4", there would never be so much backlash from the fans and so much hate and negativity surrounding them. They would still complain about the wacky physics, no doubt, I probably would too, but at least it would never be the supposed sequel to one of the most legendary video games from the 1990s.
I'd be interested in seeing that FFXIII video you mentioned. I remember in the past you spoke not so positively about the game so I'd be very interested in hearing your thoughts now and what exactly changed. Good work as always.
Yes! Please make those XIII videos. You described the exact same way I felt having played XIII 1&2, even the immediate dissapointment with LR. Itd be cool to hear your thoughts
Honestly the worst things about XIII-2 is that it not only renders the plot of XIII irrelevant, it contradicts XIII's message. XIII is about the cast being destined to a horrible fate and learning to rise above it, defy destiny and the gods that made this destiny, and save their home... only for the sequel to reveal that the only reason the cast were able to do so is because another god took pity on them and intervened to allow them to do so. Said intervention proceeded to then almost completely destroy the home that the cast had been fighting to save throughout XIII. So much for XIII's message about controlling one's own fate. Then there's the multiple endings... which have the villain win in every single instance and if you get them all the villain shows up to mock you, not the characters, the player *themselves* for bothering to look for an ending where they lose and state that they will win no matter what so all the work you've put in to see all those endings is completely pointless. I've never been so ticked off by a game in my life. Really, Lightning Returns didn't do anything but make this all worse.
@@immortalfrieza I remember grinding the platinum trophy for the secret ending only to see *that*. The whole game did contradict the first game by becoming downright bleak and depressing with the whole breaking your destiny made it worse. But Caius was Hella cool
@@MangoSmoothy I found Caius to be weird and contradictory. The fact that it's not really Caius for like... 75% of his appearances in the game didn't help. Hell, he really only wins in the end because Noel is a moron.
@@olivercharles2930 Better graphics, worlds that are actually fun unique, unique plants/zombies, extra conditions to beat a level, daily levels, ways to help those who can't handle the difficulty (that don't cost real money), and plant food This is only the stuff that came out with MD, and you say that PVZ 1 is better in every single way? I don't think so
PVZ went to switch genres after PVZ2 and they created Garden warfare which is high-key the most fun multiplayer shooter I have played. And the sequel GW2 is also great with tons of single player and multiplayer content. Now PVZ is at a sad state with PVZ3 and Battle for neighbourville. I revisit GW games with warm memories here and there, but it makes me sad at the same time
I think X-2 was definitely an odd one for a Final Fantasy game but it was a good RPG. I think it would've been better though had they expanded the playable cast to others besides the three girls and dropped the blatant T&A fan service. I don't know about anybody else but I found Yuna and Rikku much more attractive in their original FFX clothing than in any of the skimpy outfits they would wear in X-2.
Jirard, one criticism, don't buy the video game industry narrative that "We need to make our money back somehow". Games were profitable before microtransactions existed, they made plenty of money from Dead Space 1 and 2, otherwise they would not have kept making them. Microtransactions were added because they wanted to make even more money, nothing more.
Jirard, you loved PvZ1, and that's great! I did, too. It's a great game. But so is PvZ2, and you weren't really fair to it. The only things you really mentioned were microtransactions and the “rent-a-plant” system, which you misspoke of. When you buy a plant with money, you keep it forever. When you rent one, you do just that: watch an ad to use a premium plant for one level. I'm not a fan of the feature myself, but it's nothing too bad. Also, I sorta feel like you didn't play the game at all, and used random footage from the game's launch. If you actually played PvZ2 you would find the sheer amount of love and detail oozing out of it. Great artwork, an expansive story, kickin' music, and great new plant and zombie designs. Also, you don't HAVE to pay a dime. You can beat the entire game with only free plants (which are usually good enough to match the premium ones). The franchise kept PopCap going, and EA didn’t have a lot to do with the business model. I loved your PvZ1 video, but this “EA bad PopCap good” misinformation and blind nostalgia is pretty terrible. I know you make amazing content, but please do your research on something you dislike before including it in a video.
Whenever I hear "terrible sequel" I always think of devil may cry 2. Which also reminds me to ask you to do a completionist episode on dmc5. My favorite game ever
dmc5 dante is definitely some of the best gameplay of any game but nero and v don't really feel that fun to play especially in comparison. The story also feels like a bad fan fiction of the series. This concludes my essay on why dmc3 is the best in the series
@@plugshirt1762 Not really it story plot you saw Nero he b!tch slap Dante aka his uncle. So Nero have a match on his dad to learn about the truth how was abandon after he left Nero and his mom after she gone.
The main issue I have with battle passes like Overwatch 2 is that the vast majority of the time it’s used to make a dumb grind toward items you want so some players pay for it to skip it and worse they usually have a broken OP item or character like COD does with making a new gun in the battle pass that’s just OP then once the pass ended they will fix the gun then repeat. You’re paying to have a temporary advantage over other players basically.
They screwed over the players completely. The progression system is all tied to a lame battle pass now. As a gamer, Overwatch 2 is maybe the most insulted I’ve ever felt.

BattleFront 2 had a huge redesign about a year after launch and was a significantly improved game. Lots of new hero’s were added and I have a few hundred hours of very fond memories with the game.
It wasn’t even as far out as a year. It was only in it’s launch state for about 4 months before getting entirely reworked. They even pushed back content updates to patch out micro transactions
previous comment was blacklisted. reposting pvz2 section was full of blatant misinformation. microtransactions were planned before ea's involvement, and even when they did buy the franchise, they still had no part in their implementation since they just publish the game and let popcap do all the work. plants are rented with an ad for one level; no actual money is spent. "if you really want to experience the full game, you're going to have to drop a lot of money" what kind of line is this? certainly not one that's true. adventure is fully beatable with the plants they give you, and made even easier with the leveling up system. even before leveling this wasnt true. RFM vs Games, another youtuber on this site, uploaded gameplay of him beating the supposed hardest, most pay to win worlds in the game with free plants. do your research next time before you slander a game and its franchise.
The Tony Hawks one still has a sad ending; ActiBlizz didn't like the pitch for THPS3+4 and they made VV go work on assist for COD until they folded them into Blizzard
Pvz 2 never have a option to use real money to rent a plant but i think you can rent by watching ad and yes...zombie have their own counter by it world plants and you can just beat this game without spending money...i may agree some information but some i disagree and say it not true...also EA didn't have anything to do with develop the game...popcap do it by themself...no forcing...
Ever heard of Plants vs Zombies 2 Reflourished? It's this amazing fan mod of the game that came out recently that fixes almost all of my problems with the game! No ads, no microtransactions whatsoever, it's playable on computer, it removes some of the modes that didn't fit the game design well, it removed the awful leveling up mechanic, every plant is free and possible to obtain (except for Starfruit, which I think was a bug), and so much more! At the same time, it added several levels to each world that are very fun to play and an additional two worlds, with more content on the way! I highly recommend! Fair warning, it's not perfect. Because it modified the already existing PvZ2 instead of making its own thing, some of the original game design is still a little messy and unfair at times or way too easy, but that's only less than 10% of the time. Don't let that turn you away though. There're probably less than 5 levels in the game that I would call absolute unfair garbage, and the worst part is that the new balancing changes made those levels way harder by accident. But it's not a big deal. Overall, 9/10 game! You should try and get it right now!
Honestly true, though, the game has seen kind of a downfall with Arena and Penny's Pursuit. Those are pure mobile game modes that are nothing special compared to other pvz2 content created.
Pvz2 is one of the best video game sequels imo, it literally took the original pvz formula and expanded on it as much as it could, microtransactions aren't even necessary for you to beat the whole game, I've beaten it multiple times and never paid a single cent on it. You obviously didn't play the game to experience the joy you can get while playing it and just blindly hated on it because of the microtransactions.
I feel like he didn’t actually play the game and instead just saw it was published by EA and had microtransactions then assumed it was bad. A lot of what he said about the microtransactions is not even in the game.
The whole pvz2 section is misinformation, you can beat the game without micro transactions, there are no level dlc, only plant dlc, and theres a new feature that was added a while ago where you can now rent a plant for one level, oh yeah not to mention you do keep the plant forever if you do buy it, and its a free game anyway, how else is it gonna make money, the fact you used old footage of the old version of the game from when it first released just shows that he never played the game and only listened to the misinformation that people spread a couple years back
It is not forcing you do to microtransactions in PVZ2, it is completely optional. I hate the EA BAD and POPCAP good is just a load of rubbish. I bet other people I have already jumped to conclusions on this comment thread about this. Although that is your opinion, I am sided with that it is basically a upgrade to it is bare bones processer (sure it's great but more content is more awesome) I actually like PVZ2 The lack of knowledge in the PVZ2 really doesn't make you a completionist you really just skimmed half over the game and said oh it saying you need to buy these plants at the start screen, you can just ignore that and jump straight in! (well it is a free game, there is got to be adverts and money but so?) hope you understand :D (but you pissed off the pvz community because of your experience, pretty biased)
@@PasteryPow From me also have played previous versions, everything he said is still a lie. Also only good premiums back then were imitater and power lily but both weren't nessicary to beat PvZ2.
I like how this guy is another "PVZ2 IS PAY TO WINN!" guy. You can literally beat the game without spending a single penny. And the microtransactions were PopCap's fault, not EA's.
"You can literally beat the game without spending a single Penny" very true, even while this guy insulting PvZ 2 of being P2W/something (somehow), there was a guy who doing "only 2 seed slots" challenge lol
Still isn’t the way the game is meant to be experienced, the game is still built around the microtransactions. The first PVZ is meant to be played without having to spend anything
@@h3industrialcomplex220 Spending money just makes the game easier and gives you some Redundant plants. Adventure mode is completely bearable and enjoyable without spending money.
17:27 are we just going to ignore that The Callisto Protocol will release in a week, and looks like it's going to be a proper next-gen Dead Space sequel?
For the PVZ2 Section You mentioned that you can rent plants for a bunch of money when in reality it's just with ads unless you mean premium plants in which that case you keep them forever The fact that you have to pay a lot of money for the full experience when in reality you can just play the game just fine without paying at all You don't even mention stuff like Penny Pursuit (a mode in which you can get seed packets of a specific plant, money and gems and levels reset weekly) , Arena (Grinding, you basically have to get points in order to unlock stuff) or Seed packets (used for leveling up plants, you get them through piñatas which yes are quite rng and what i mentioned earlier) all of your footage for Pvz2 it's from like 2013 or something No modern stuff at all Don't take this as an attack but as someone who enjoys pvz as a whole it's kinda disappointing for a big TH-camr like you to get a lot of details wrong or stuff that has been said before that isn't true (Ea bad, Popcap good as an example) Edit: Let's hope The completionist notices the Pvz2 comments and makes an apology Edit 2: Guess I'm summoning the whole circus now 🤡

I'd definitely love to see you tackle the XIII trilogy. I have mixed feelings on that trilogy as a whole, but I didn't hate XIII-2 or Lightning Returns.
pvz 2 being the number 1 worst sequel is absolute bullshit, you can beat the whole game without paying a single cent (which i have done.) not only that it wasnt all EA's fault and EA is evil. i dont really like EA but still. and from what it seems like you have actually never fucking played the game. not only that but they're making some premium plants obtainable without paying money. you just have to be good at the game. which you clearly arent PS: rentable plants dont cost money
My favorite upgrade is from Bloons Tower Defense 5 to 6. BTD5 is 2D and BTD6 is in 3D, with new features, upgrades, towers and heroes. It really was a big upgrade from BTD5.
Credit where it’s due, The Force Unleashed 2 was just fun to play sometimes. It was just a power trip game where the appeal was literally “cut apart everything and anything with light sabers and force powers”
I personally really loved Dead Space 3. I get its problems but it wasn't supposed to be scary. Issac was so used to necromorphs at this point he wasn't afraid of them anymore.
There are interviews from past Popcap employees that said the direction of the game was always supposed to be a mobile game and the renting plant thing is not even a feature if you buy a plant you keep the plant forever and you don't even need spend a dime on the game to beat it and each plant you get from the adventure mode is a clear counter for the zombies in the worlds they're in
I get the criticism to microtransactions in PvZ 2, it’s indeed a dick move to lock original plants behind a paywall. But to say it was a bad game or even just a bad sequel is ridiculous. It has way more content than PvZ 1 in terms of worlds, plants and zombies. Plant food is a fun mechanic, the artstyle is a good evolution from PvZ 1 and the game is actually challenging. It’s indeed loaded with microtransactions, but you can just ignore them and have a much better experience than the first game. The premium plants are a bonus, it’s not like those mobile games that literally prevent you from playing without waiting some hours.
Hopefully after Microsoft finishes the buyout they'll bring it back cause 3 & 4 were probably the best in the series.
Hopefully that gets made someday.
I really hope Microsoft will do something with it when/if they acquire Activision. THPS4 is still one of my favourites, I still play it on GameCube at least once a year, seeing it and 3 remade would be so damn awesome.
Honestly only bought 1+2 to show I want THUG remade. I feel ripped off now.
I mean, microtransactions are really easy to ignore and they're totally optional

I feel that nine at least had a bit of style, great minigames (especially their boss games) and some stategy.

For some reason, that really speaks towards the types of games we're getting these days.
and the sad start of it all came from Mass Effect 3 and ToddW Horse Armor.

-And more untrue information about the whole game

The main game, the campaign,is fun and you can complete it without even opening the shop, but if you did,the gem plants are totally free and you can get the seed plants for free when they are in the arena
Also,a lot of the shit added to the campaign, like the rentable plants or unlocking a plant even before getting to that world IS bulshit, but it was added like half a year ago and you can just...not use it
And sure, there are like 20 or so plants behind a paywall, but half of them are pretty bad and none of them are needed to have fun with the game! Sure,if you have the money (and a skill issue),buy them. but if you don't,you're not going to die

Half of the premium plants, you mean the 100 gem plants?

@GG Man theres a document that completely disproves what you say and if im petty enough i might copy paste a part of that document here
The pvz2 part just straight up a bunch of lies.

Well, and on that it seems like you're trying to push this to how people go passing off infinite DLCs and general microtransactions on 60 (now 70) dollar games, in which case, no, that's a whole 'nother thing.

The dlc ending seems like it captures, in the context of its universe, how everything was always meant to end: grim, bleak, hopeless, messed up.
Eh I guess but I still didn't like that it kinda retcon a few story points from the previous two games
@@mastertjt56 dead space 2 retconned a lot from the first too
I loved dead space 3 too. My friend and I flipped out when we realized that he was seeing entirely different things than I was. The story was silky but the gameplay was fun and exciting.
Was it a good action game at least? I like dumb shooty sci-fi games.
PVZ 2 isn't even that bad wdym
I mean, I get opinions are a thing, but everything you said about the game was misinfo.
Ironically I played the sequel first before the original game…on finishing it I honestly realized how short it was…still upset about that
Whats even more sadder was that it was the last major Star Wars game by Lucasarts before it was shut down by Disney, just a few years before we were meant to get Star Wars 1313.
The #1 choice hurts my brain
Alternatively, for a mod-less experience, grab a 5.0 apk
I honestly think the microtransactions are handled pretty fine.
Squash costs like 100💎
mmm
Honestly, I've never felt like the microtransactions are really that bad. Sure they're overpriced, but they aren't shoved in your face and easily avoidable. Anyone who says otherwise clearly hasn't played any other mobile game released in the past 13 years.
YES SON, SPREAD THE WORD OF REFLOURISHED LIKE THE ECLISE FANBOYS DID 2 YEARS AGO
Bro just lied about PVZ2 and nobody batted an eye
I would love to see those videos, as I played 13-2 and was NOT a fan. I look forward to seeing your thoughts!
I would like to see a Trilogy of videos for the 13 series, yes.
I hate to say it because I liked the game as a kid, but Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly belongs on this list.
honestly i'd put Spyro one if it wasn't for "Sequel" i find 2 was interesting in comparison.
Dude it sounds like you didn't even play PvZ2, did you form your opinion after a few "freethinkers"?

I feel you. I spent so many hours on that game as a kid, and I still have a lot of nostalgia for it. I hated that sphere break mini game so much lol
Yeah me too, it feels kinda out of place compared to X, but it’s such an enjoyable game
I’d love to see some final fantasy 13 videos, even when it came out I never understood the hate it got.
X-2 is a weird breed... but I wouldn't say it is not experimental in its approach, lol...
Something I'd like to say; PvZ2 isn't P2W because of EA. It's actually Popcap themselves - do your research, please..
And things about "getting plants" is lie too.
That’s harsh on PvZ2, and temporary rentable plants aren’t a thing.
Really funny when he's talking literally about PvZ 2 being P2W or something, while there's some people who doing a hard challenge on PvZ 2...

As a gamer, Overwatch 2 is maybe the most insulted I’ve ever felt.

pvz2 section was full of blatant misinformation. microtransactions were planned before ea's involvement, and even when they did buy the franchise, they still had no part in their implementation since they just publish the game and let popcap do all the work. plants are rented with an ad for one level; no actual money is spent.
"if you really want to experience the full game, you're going to have to drop a lot of money" what kind of line is this? certainly not one that's true. adventure is fully beatable with the plants they give you, and made even easier with the leveling up system. even before leveling this wasnt true.

It was bad. So bad in fact I now have to watch ads to play PvZ1. It’s infecting the previous games
It’s not the complaint he’s making tho
The whole pvz2 section is misinformation, you can beat the game without micro transactions, there are no level dlc, only plant dlc, and theres a new feature that was added a while ago where you can now rent a plant for one level, oh yeah not to mention you do keep the plant forever if you do buy it, and its a free game anyway, how else is it gonna make money, the fact you used old footage of the old version of the game from when it first released just shows that he never played the game and only listened to the misinformation that people spread a couple years back

pvz 2 being the number 1 worst sequel is absolute bullshit, you can beat the whole game without paying a single cent (which i have done.) not only that it wasnt all EA's fault and EA is evil. i dont really like EA but still. and from what it seems like you have actually never fucking played the game. not only that but they're making some premium plants obtainable without paying money. you just have to be good at the game. which you clearly arent
PS: rentable plants dont cost money
My favorite upgrade is from Bloons Tower Defense 5 to 6. BTD5 is 2D and BTD6 is in 3D, with new features, upgrades, towers and heroes. It really was a big upgrade from BTD5.
Bro you you don’t pay money to get a plant you just need to watch a ad have you ever touched the rent plant button? Have you even played it
I'd love for you to add the whole FFXIII trilogy to The Completionist when you're done with NG+!
I would like to see you make videos on the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy.
He didn't even play PvZ 2
Not only that, but almost everything he said about the game is actually wrong
