Here is a look at some of my most useful 3D prints! These are models that I use when DIYing or just carrying on with my everyday life. While the title implies that there are only 5 models, this is an underestimate. Between all the stylistic variations and bonus models this video is a wealth of original content. You could use a nozzle from a 3D printer as part of your solder guide. This will alow you to get closer to the point of soldering while shielding from heat.
as someone with ADHD organisation is a mythical creature, your computer desk is awesome! so few cables. I guess my hotas, gaming pad and other peripherals really adds to my clutter. :(

I keep going back and forth on the ATC. I'm thinking about changing my spindle, so I need to make a decision on that first.

If I print the desk organizer I will probably just add a few filament changes within the slicer and forgo the extra pieces. If I decide to make it with the separate accents I'd likely make it so they are removable so I could change colors as I felt like it. It's a great looking model though, and seems well thought out.
Could you maybe do a version of the solder thingy with 608 bearings? More people have those lying around.

Awesome designs. Is the orientation of the bolt correct? Looks to me it needs to be flipped upside down.
If you cut a magsafe sized hole in the back of your iPhone case you could have it sit flat while also allowing charging.
You could even just extrude it down in that section so the pattern stays the same but thinner in the hole.
Best of both worlds 🤷♂️

@@octimus2000 many iPhone cases used to have a cutout in the center for the Apple logo. Wasn't uncomfortable(although matter of preference) and provides extra grip.

I haven't been a fan of your channel in the past but that cinema case was a damn good design. I don't like iPhones but that was some clever problem solving so I will follow you in the future.

It's funny I'm watching this video as your desk organizer is finishing printing in Silk White PLA. It's been printing for 40 hrs 17 mins and it's starting its 1st of 5 top layers so should be done soon, then time to print the accent colors and draws! Will post up a make on the Thangs page.

I am still new to 3d printing but I do wonder about a type of filament you used. That stuff you put in the over. Is that really safe to be cooking in your primary oven? I ask because when it comes to paint, (there is a kind of paint that you have to heat up to about 450°) it will taint any oven in 1 cook and the claim is, you will never get the smell out and it will always flavor your food, not by your desire of course. So I wonder if this plastic can release substances into the oven.
1:20 Easy, use a lineman's splice, apply flux, then you are only holding the solder and soldering iron. It never ceases to amaze me the overcomplications people come up with for such a simple task as soldering that unquestionably result in lower quality joints. The lineman's splice works like magic, sure NASA does not rate it for stranded wire/cable, but they do not rate any soldering joint for stranded. Sure crimping is even better, but who wants to deal with a huge box of ferrules that you can mismatch when the lineman's splice exists.

One thing, the impact resistant pro has to be store vertically with the tip down or you empty the antioxidant reservoir at the bottom of the probe to protect the contacts. Cliff mention it multiple times in the videos.

Very good video and you go into the details and your thoughtprocesses. I subscribed so i can learn more about 3D Printing. I dont even have one but i like he ability to create helpfull things
I do love the screw-out functionality of the bolt organizer, but as storage it doesn't seem to make very efficient use of volume (or plastic). If the connection scheme was in the corners instead of the edge centers -- either by dropping the connecting pieces and adding paired male/female dovetails around each corner, or by cutting off the corners and giving them dovetails at 45 degrees to mate with revised connection pieces -- then the usable center volume could be a much bigger chunk of each piece, and it'd take less material to print.
The problem is that you also have to leave a lot of space between the bolts so that you can unscrew them. As I mentioned, just normal cylinders that slide in and out would be best but definitely not the most fun
@@DrDFlo Good point, I hadn't considered the need to get fingers in there. That's solvable, though -- a finger-sized slot or a protruding smaller-diameter cylindrical grip or other feature (perhaps a cross or bar with finger hole) or even just cutouts around the edge of the caps could cover this problem and let you pack them tighter without losing the unscrewing coolness. My main concern if it were my design would be hitting something that didn't require a grip shift to start and then finish unscrewing, and let you keep a good grip as it came out to avoid drop risk. Anyway, it's a cool design as-is, just couldn't help wanting to throw out a few ideas. Take or leave, and thanks for sharing!
I would just suggest using filament LED bulbs in the lamp shades. Looks pretty much the same and there will be definitely no sagging.
I agree! However, a lot of people have an affinity towards tungsten bulbs especially with decorative lighting. Just wanted to point out how hot those suckers get.
Just make a dip in the case for the charger.
what does the magnet do on the solder helper and can i make it without the magnet?

Very nice! Although I'd recommend to redesign that yellow sign at 11:34, since at the first glance, and specially without knowing the channel's name, it reads "Dr. Ho"
If you would splice the wires together correctly you could still solder them and not need your solder tool. And I'm not talking about using a crimp connector.
Can we get a link to the wrench holder? I use that same wall mount panel and have not seen that one.

Would it be possible to print it in PLA and cover the areas exposed to heat with aluminum tape? (to prevent heat transfer to the PLA, to avoid melting the tool) Or high temp flue tape?
you could use kapton tape, or even multiple layers of kapton and aluminium tape interchangeably - this is actually how they make thermal insulation for satelites and outer space stuff
